I've been following You for some time now, and i must say i'm curious about how big Your farm is. Cause Your farmyard looks rather big, but i've noticed You dont have any plough or drill. Do You mind sharing how many hectares of grassland/fields You have? And how many dairy cows+youngsters You keep there? I'll understand if You dont wanna reveal those information. Great vid as always.
We are about 145 acres with 75 milking cow plus about 60 other stock around the place. We dont our own drill or plough as its not worth us buying them for the amount of crops we grow, we use contractors instead
thefunkyfarmerr I see, guess farming in UK is much diffrent than here in Poland, i own a farm half of Your size, around 30 hectares, but i have my own equipment. I also noticed that You dont do much of a fixing, like changing tyre or bearing, theres nothing wrong with it, not everyone is a mechanic. I guess every country has its own ways. Thanks for sharing, and keep up the good work. Cheers!
Ancalim Hi. I guess it all depends what you can manage in a day, doing the milking twice a day as well as all the other jobs on the farm doesn't leave a lot of time spare. Sometimes its easier to pick up the phone and let someone else do the job for you. I do do a lot of the maintenance on the farm myself but not tyres, Ive done wheel bearing before but prefer to now get someone else to do it. Appreciate your comments Rich
not trying to be rude but can you be a little easier on your tractors? i just hate how you start it and like full speed right after that, and same thing with shutting it off you just shut it off after doing hard work. Not being mean but just saying :)
