i am very confused . i want to become a portfolio manager in big firms ( like goldman , jp morgan etc) . i have done bba and studied many subjects like financial management , marketing management, hrm etc and got nearly 65% overall . i have got an offer from a university in uk for my mba in global financial services . university rank -600-800 worldwide and 300-350 subject wise . they are offering many subjects in mba in global financial services (like - Strategic Management, Marketing in a Global Age, Managerial Finance, Leading in a Changing World,Banking Regulation and Risk, Global Financial Markets,Valuation of Securities and Equity Trading, Corporate Finance,). will i need to have a cfa along with my mba for becoming a portfolio manager in big firms ? please answer .
Depends on where your aim is dude, If u want to work for BIG Asset management companies then you need to prove that your better than most top tier college students. Majority take BBA and MBA this wont give you an advantage at all from others. My suggestion is for you to take CFA at least level 1.

Investment Banking if you reach to the top then you can easily make 5-10crores or may be more but very very hard to reach that point and you definitely required MBA degree from tier-1 college or may be some tier-2 college also(but from that it's very hard to reach to top lvl) and also keep in mind an Investment Banker work for at least 12-13 hours every day(minimum) and it can goes up to 14-15 hours also so if you can take this much of pressure than only go for Investment Banker bcz I have seen many investment bankers do not do well in there relationships due to there work so they most of the time suffer in there relationships.
@@sparrowspirit5301 Agreed You can make crores of rupees through that Job but The actual work it demands will crush you on an average an IB person use to do task of 3-4 persons and also there are not many jobs of IB in India due to increase in Technology future of most of the IB persons are not secure. But the fact is IB is one of the top paying job through out the world.
