The attention to detail is incredible. It is really evident in every beautiful aspect of the design from both Mim Design and Neil Architecture. I love Mim’s aesthetic, this is no exception.!
Neil Architecture and Mim Design have masterfully combined the historical essence of this home, seamlessly uniting the past and present. The location itself is undeniably picturesque, offering magnificent views that add to its allure.
I just want to see more of this house, it is such a considered quality design and build with timelessness and longevity at the forefront. I just love the juxtaposition of the old and new, a familiar site in the Australian heritage landscape. Well done to all involved.
The project and its surroundings are visually captivating. The attention to detail and skill of Mim Design & Neil Architecture shines through every frame.
Impressive. Congratulations to all for a successful outcome in a challenging assignment of melding the new with the historic legacy in an assured intervention.
The restoration of the design details and the period features is superb, including: the window frames, lead light windows, panelled roof and ornate cornices.
Outdoor living areas, such as patios and garden spaces, provide opportunities for relaxation and recreation while staying in touch with nature. You can enjoy them here. 🥰🥰
Neil Architecture and Mim Design have collaborated to create a stunning home that flawlessly blends the historical essence of the property with contemporary design elements. The result is a harmonious fusion of the past and present, showcasing timeless elegance alongside modern comfort.
So intrigued by Australian planning laws, the extension is a full blown mansion, double the size of the existing dwelling! In the UK it’s close to impossible to be able to achieve to this scale. Such a lovely home
As an Australian business, sometimes we too are fascinated by the Australian planning laws... We agree a very lovely home and even more so to experience in person, the location is incredible on the coast overlooking the ocean.
So interesting to see how both Neil Architecture and Mim Design have approached this historic home and extension. The location is beautifully embraced.
The scale of the new building is so gigant that it crushes the old builling that is at the end the center, the heart of this whole rich program. The shape of the new building is usual all over the world , there are today thousands of buildings with this image. So, iam sorry, but this team didnt design a new part worthy of the old part. The project has nice details but as a concept they failed .
Hello, there is a mix of both in the home. The frames you are referring to are most likely made from aluminium. Read more here: estliving.com/dawn-house-mim-design-neil-architecture/ stay tuned, team estliving.com
@@est_livingYes I thought it might have been a mix. The description says "a large steel and glass door" was inserted in the livng room, so am I right in thinking you guys chose steel for interior frames and aluminium for exterior frames? I find aluminium tends to look more "modern" while steel is more classic, but maybe there is aluminium options now that look like steel as aluminium is rust-free and lower maintenance.

Which wealthy melbourne family owns this beauty?
It’s such a privilege to be welcomed into one’s home. Your question is often asked, however we respect their privacy and don’t share this information.
I love Mims interior design but I have no idea what she is on about 😂🤔🤣
The most disappointing results considering the claims in the monologues
Thanks for your sharing view.
As Architects you have dishonoured the Original Design and stamped this magnificent building with a Monolith, unbecoming to the original aesthetic.. 😢
Design is always about different perspectives. That's what makes this medium great - we can understand and appreciate everyone's viewpoint.
So beautiful! I have always loved Mim’s work.
Thank you! Cheers!
