Warpath: Jurassic Park [PS1] - play as Alberto

===== About Alberto =====
Alberto is a carnivore, and is a 2-legged dinosaur. He is of the Albertosaurus species. That's all I have to say about his design.
Gameplay-wise, Alberto is not the biggest dinosaur, but he seems to have a high level of both speed and power... and quite a good range. He's got some fast side kicks and some good lunging bites. Out of all the hidden characters I've used in the game, I think he is the best one.
It should also be noted that he often appears as the final opponent you fight in Arcade mode, making him somewhat of a "boss" character. He's also the last hidden character you unlock as well.

===== About Warpath: Jurassic Park =====
This is an impressive, well-built game for the PS1. The graphics are very good for the PS1 standards... I imagine this must have looked quite amazing for it's time. The dinosaur movement/strike animations are pretty spot-on for how real dinosaurs were supposed to "behave" and "act".
The gameplay itself is good as well, and is exactly what you would expect a dinosaur character to control and play like in a fighting game. As fighting game players we are all so used to controlling human being characters that suddenly being made to control a dinosaur may be a bit strange at first. Extras to the gameplay include being able to "eat" the small human being or mini-dinosaur characters to regain life.
One minor annoyance of this game is how easy it is to have your character not facing the opponent directly in-line and how much time it takes to "reset" back to direct facing... due to the type of throws, some moves and side steps in the game, it is common to have your character end up facing the wrong angle, which obviously means that your moves will miss the opponent, leaving you completely vulnerable as you recover. The worst thing about this is that sometimes you really cannot tell whether you're in-line or not. The CPU opponents (who of course, ALWAYS manages to face you correctly no matter what) exploits this to the max, which WILL annoy you.
The music is your typical "tense-horror-movie" orchestral type soundtrack, which suits this game perfectly.

I just had a super PS1 graphic powered dream of Jurassic Park after imbibing so much of this as of late. If gaming wasn't a hobby, watching two dinosaurs fighting one another would seem especially silly. It already is especially silly the more I think about it. I wonder what you have up your sleeves next. Wait. What the hell? Dat' ad.
