Marrickville Garbage Pt 1

- This time I bring you some footage of the manual collections from Marrickville, found in Sydney's inner west. This footage comes from the typical, tight, one-way street you can find in this council, which was lined with heaps of 140L bins - you will see why they only use rear loaders. One of their yellow Compaction Systems / Ivecos stars in this video, which has a rare enclosed hopper set-up with the MacDonald Johnston UBL (Universal Bin Lifter) used to empty the bins. I reckon this truck could easily be mistaken for a truck in the UK... could be an older Dennis Phoenix for all someone knows; guess the only give-away would be the cab :D
A thanks to the Marrickville crew hard at work... the garbos who deserve more than a cold beer after a days work. Hope you enjoy this footage, please rate and comment after watching. Also be sure to check out part 2 and the video of the recycling collection which features one of their new trucks.
Body Make: Compaction Systems (now Superior Pak)
Model: 19m Maxi Pak
Chassis: Iveco Acco
Council: Marrickville
Contractor: Council Works
Collection Type: Garbage / Trash - Авто та транспорт
A lot of the councils in that area have these kind of streets and housing, because it's where Sydney's original population started developing/expanding. You should see some of the suburbs that are full of terraces... wouldn't be keen on living in those areas. Those curtains are a bummer, I tried to get some kind of view of the packer... best you can see is the faint outline of it lowering. With the right lifter, guess it's just how much the operator decides to lower it.
Yer some kind of vertical lift SL would be handy in some places down here, but there's still too many streets where cars get in the way and where there's not enough space to put bins on the road.
Did you notice the stamps on the bins of the person with the heart tshirt. If you see one of the Otto bins the otto logo is underneath.lol
look at hamcka lols this was years ago, there going too slow
no wonder the bottom front of my bin is cracked
Lol
The old days. Great fast lifters, But needed repairing alot when left down and hitting the ground.
Not totally sure, but the only reason I could think of would be safety or something? Thing is, I've only really ever seen the "curtains" on trucks with this lifter/tailgate design.
"I reckon this one could easily be mistaken for a truck in the UK!"
Too right mate, I looked at the video and thought "Mitch in englnad?" but sadly no :(
Yer that could be a possibility, but then if that's the case, how come this truck (which is much more closed up on the tailgate) has it rather than the ones which are much more open? Seems like it's got something to do with this bin-lifter design, which is pretty much the same as the typical ones in the UK/Europe... be interesting to find out the purpose :D
No these videos are just for people interested in garbage trucks, just share footage of different operations from all over the world.
Compaction Systems body and not totally sure about the age, but I reckon 2-3 years old
I'm not entirely sure to be honest, it seems that the curtains come with this type of bin-lifter... all I reckon it has to do with is stopping things from spilling out of the hopper.
Well thanks anyway mitch.I think i have seen some in the UK on here!Maybe its to keep light weight paper from blowing out of the truck???
very nice truck and lifting gears 5 stars! all they need to do now is make it automatic
haha Somebody got fooled :D Though in so many years, I will be up somewhere in England for a holiday...
I'm the Michael Jordan of the garbos, I'm the Achilles of the team
Why do they put curtains over the packer area?? Very good video.
@seedyftm 2 loaders and 1 driver here, helps get the job done nice and swiftly. Which council do you work in? 1200 bins eh... solid effort :)
Cooler müllwagen aber der ist altmodisch bei uns werden die tonnen nur hingestelt und das system kippt automatisch
Wow Mitch great job! Awesome drivers and Happy New Years!
I reckon the drivers would love it auto!!
No, rear loaders only
Standard packer
it's to stop too much dust.
