    Many of the students are in their 70s, and they try to avoid jumping at all. Rich, 71, describes it as “a bunch of old people running around the woods having fun.”

      I mean, I get the whole "vice" part. But, "news"? Really? Maybe intentionally misspell it, like "noos" or "neuz". You could be super fem and spell it like "n-uwu-s".

      @Sewer Dragon my 86 year old grandfather still does tennis and its pretty vigours he can still run, he has always been a very physical person always very positive in his attitude and always has eaten well. you don't neccicarily have to do TRT to stay physical and strong in your older years, though it does help.

  • @GertieTheGardener

    I started training parkour last year at the age of 50, and still 40 pounds overweight. It's never too late. You start where you're at and move forward. That's the beauty of parkour -- it's not about doing what others are doing; it's about doing whatever is next for you. My balance has made phenomenal improvement. My strength and stamina are soooo much better than they were (I used to only do cardio workouts). And the teens and 20-somethings I've met at the gym and community jams have been nothing but kind and encouraging, which is par for the course in the parkour community.
    Parkour is not about taking insane risks. As Charles Moreland put it: “Parkour is a method of training the human body to become stronger, more agile, and more efficient. These enhancements are achieved by dedicating yourself to a life of unyielding challenges, unending progression, and constant adaptation.”
    Every human deserves that, not just young people.

    • @Marnee4191
      @Marnee4191 Рік тому

      Very well said and this is encouraging. I've dabbled in parkour for almost 10 years, but never seriously enough and I stopped for about 4 years. I'm 54 now and back into it and basically starting over. But I've seen a HUGE improvement in every area of fitness over the past 9 months. (I'm also doing some PT-style exercises, stretching, and swords.) It's super fun and I'm actually stronger than I ever was in the past 10 years so am close to doing a full kong up for the first time!

    This is epic. If you can still move your body in that way into old age you're going to have a much better time as you grow old. This also technically is keeping more in line with real parkour, moving through your environment in the most economical manner

    Bahahaha this is comical, probably not the best exercise though, way too much impact on those old joints...

      you clearly didn't watch the video properly because they're not jumping around. Also, there is even a university study on them that shows promising results.

      There's also things you can take nowadays, like growth hormones, TRT, prolotherapy; as well as exercises like meditation to keep the brain and body in more youthful states.

    A lot of strong people out there in a linear sense who succumb to balance related injuries late in life... I do home care for people which 100% of have fall-risk and mobility issues - otherwise they would be fully or at least 50% more independent, likely so through supplemental training such as this. This is awesome.

    parkour vision: I m the same as a skateboarder.. I'm 40 and started skating at around 8 and stopped a while ago but still think in terms of what I would do at a certain spot. I see a ledge and get excited still or a gap...
