Nice! I had an '88 Maroon Katana 1100 with Krauser panniers on it. Bought it new for 5500 dollars in April of '89 It is the only bike I still regret selling. I toured the country with it and it was a lot of fun. I kept if for 10 years. The fairing had multiple stress cracks in it (never down). It has threaded valve adjusters so it is really easy to do by yourself. I think it held 6 qts of oil?? The oil cooler is MASSIVE!
Congrats on a REALLY nice find

I had this exact same motorcycle. The first and only 100% new vehicle I ever bought. Had it for almost 30 years, and 44000 miles. Took road trips, drag raced, went on a honeymoon, and that thing never let me down. Got rid of it ONLY because mice got into it over the final winter and feasted on the main wiring bundle. I would kill to find another one with low miles like you did! My Yamaha FZ1 is a great bike, but I still miss the big Kat.

If only the turn signals and cockpit clusters wasn’t so ugly/boring, I would love this model so much more.
Awesome paint Scheme on yours 👌

Man parts sre higher than a giraffes ass on the 80's katanas. 30$ for a single float on ebay? yeah thats a bit much. The tank fuel cutoff leaks into the carbs and keeps hydrolocking the engine. But i suppose there are worse problems to have. Other than a few scratches and the fuel issues its pretty solid.

@@rodx5571 man I was just dealing with that same problem for a while.. something failed in The gas tank petcock and it just sucks fuel from the vacuum hose into the carburetor and Hydro locked my engine whenever I try to start it and after a while enough gas gets into the oil to where it runs to rich. I ended up just sticking a screw in the vacuum hose with gorilla glue and sealing it off and then ceiling off where the vacuum hose connected on the carb becuase no matter what fuel would just pour from the fuel lines without a vacuum so im essentially just using a normal petcock now and it fixed all those problems
