Hi Weston, what would you suggest as a function that IS similar to a Vlookup in excel? I have a tableau report that I would like to add some other fields that are housed in a separate data set, using a part number and retrieving attributes about that part number to bring into a sales report. Thanks!

Hi Weston! How can you show a CY vs PY view if you only want to show one year at a time? (ie how to overcome the 12 nulls issue bc you're pushed off of the chart)

HI Weston great video thankyou! i am trying to address an issue where i have data in a field that was previously a lookup. Now i wish to replace that withn tableau and am not sure how to address the old data... can i create a calculated field where there is data already? So for example only do the lookup if the field is blank?? or could i combine columns? so create a new one in tableau with the new lookup and then have the previous data in their? I am assuming this may be an issue for a lot of folks!

Hello Weston, I'm new to the channel so you may have already covered this in a previous video. When I use the rank_percentile function it shows percentiles for what's in the view. For example , I have stores and their sales, and I do rank_percentile which gives me their rank_percentile based on sales. If I select just one store my rank_percentile is 100% because it's based on the view. Any way you can show how to make it so if I filter on one store it'll show me it's rank_percentile for sales based on all store sales? Thanks alot

When you edited the "Lookup Test" calculated field it showed "Results are computed along Table (across). But then the Measure Name in your tooltip says "Lookup Test along Table (Down)". Why do those two things differ?

Just found it. You should have showed that you changed "Compute Using" on the "Lookup Test" pill to "Table (down)". I couldn't recreate your work until I discovered that this change was necessary.

I unfortunately found this unhelpful but that may be because I am not understanding the set up. I know what the offset amount does and how to switch between chart types , but not how to get there. How did he create the Lookup Test measure? How did he create the Lookup Sheet? How did he get the Offset Amount box in the upper right corner to show? If there was 3 mins of from scratch set up for this video, I'd be 100% on track.
