He played with a slide hiden in his fingers i never saw a guitar player use the slide like Blackmore.

I was there Tokyo Budokan with my friend that night. I remember everyone got so surprised and shouted with joy to find orchestra members behind Ritchie on the stage. We could not believe what we saw.

What a beautiful performance of Classical/Rock fusion. Amazing how he Keeps it so melodic, while dazzling with guitar virtuosity, and staying true to the Beethoven theme. He makes it his own, but pays great tribute to one of the worlds greatest composers. Ritchie is a guitar god by every definition.
This is why Blackmore is the greatest guitar player ever !

Thank God people know about the greatness of Rainbow and Ritchie Blackmore. Saw them on the Difficult to Cure tour and it was the greatest concert I've seen in my life. And I have seen many of the greats.

As a serious Beethoven fan, I can say this version of the 4th movement of the 9th is absolutely stunning! It took my breath away! Awestruck is not too strong a term. If you listen carefully you can even hear elements of the 5th symphony. These guys are serious musicians!

My all time favourite guitarist. Mr Blackmore was and still is a major influence on guitarists everywhere. He was the reason I took up playing electric guitar. Wish I was a fraction the talent he is.

Hi, I'm a big fan of Ritchie Blackmore, as well as Rainbow, Purple and all the music related to him. Dio? He is an incredibly overrated singer. I mean, he was great but far from being called a God. Just great. He sang in two monster bands (Rainbow and Sabbath) but those bands weren't his. Then he decided to go solo, his first album (Holy Diver) was fantastic, afterwards, his albums were going from good to nothing.

Blackmore was/is simply brilliant. Seems like a simple concept, add classical progressions to hard rock. But he was arguably the first and best at it, no question.

This is absolutely incredible. He plays it with ease, confidence and from his soul. He is the Master. The King. He's quite simply the best rock guitarist ever! Nobody else has his precision and confidence that when he plucks that string with that finger on that fret it all works and sounds fantastic. Genius!

First saw him with DP in Germany, 1970. Yep, I'm an old twat. There isn't anyone quite like him. He's still kickin' out the rock 'n' blues at 71, albeit a bit slower these days. To quote Tina Turner, 'simply the best'. NO question.

Rainbow was such an under appreciated band. They got lumped in with all the hair metal bands of the 80’s but I’ve always seen them as Deep Purple 2.0
They sounded more like Deep Purple than Deep Purple with Morse tbh. Ritchie's sound are always an integral part of Classic Deep Purple tone
