Never heard of Brendan until a relation gave me an LP called "Grace ----- Before and After" in 1973. He ended up with a fan for all the years from then until his sad passing. I still have that LP.
Sitting here playing this to my kids. They dont get the double entendres but they are laughing so hard they are spitting their drinks. Such a gent and made sure we were welcomed when we met him. Reminds me of my father everytime i watch him.
He came halfway to the wings mid-performance at the Strand Hotel, Ballyliffin, when I was walking past with my mother in 1985,. Brendan Grace was a good man in bad times. He dealt with hard folk. May God have mercy on all their souls.
