What I'm understanding is that by making the kits smaller and the stats being the focus going forward this means in my mind that: 1. Characters are going to fall off quicker due to them being based on stats not the kits. 2. By having the stats be the primary focus this means that Yellow Stars, Red Stars, ISO, and Diamonds are going to be very important, and it just so happens that those are the things Scopley can control the most and also pay wall the most. while this is exciting in some aspects, this is worry some in others.

Scopely have never given a flying one about accuracy with teams. Just look at new warriors - 1 made up toon and of the other 4, 2 (Cloak and Gwenpool) were never members. Dagger was for a while, Firestar was for a while. But they leave out characters like Night Thrasher , Speedball and Namorita.
I’m sorry but this is horrible for the game. If everything is now based on the stats that means no more kit based characters that get really long shelf lives and toon that you NEED to buy the stars and diamonds for and max the levels or you’re gonna get trounced. This is more pushing for spenders privilege over regular players who will feel this so bad.

I wouldn't mind if they gave u a great 5 man team with say a legendary u can get through free to play however challenging that is to get n then pay wall a epic member for that team. So ftp can get good/great teams depending on the play, mid pay range would get great teams ,n pay to play will get meta teams,

He only gains the ability to steal Charges in War... This character is really only impactful in War, and of all the meta game modes War matters the least. This is a non-starter.
He is literally the god of war. I wouldn't assume he won't work elsewhere, raid teams do fine elsewhere, in sure he will do, I'm sure as a stat beast he'll be a nightmare will cabal in cc

@balding2early The issue is safeguard blocks most of his good stuff and only can block characters from getting it on spawn in war. Meaning any characters with Safeguard wont do a damn thing outside of war. I think the point was to get people excited about characters coming and it seems to have done the opposite if you read through people's comments.
Favoring base stats over kits complexity means the exact opposite of what they said. 1. Almost everything before power jumps will be power crept out and rendered useless faster 2. The death of theorycrafting. Since they moved to hard-core team synergy based releases, the only theorycrafting left was mainly due to complexity of passives and how people manage to find that one line in the text the devs forgot to negate in their new team and can affect the battle. Once new teams are made to overpower older one on sheer overpowered stats, 99% of the older characters will be deemed unusable. This will also decrease the number of punch-up counters we use in war significantly imo. The superior kit will get to a head start but won't be able to finish it off just due to inferior stats. They're kind of in a "damned if you do, damned if you don't" scenario. With complex kits, they find introducing new teams super hard because someone will always find something that can cancel out what the new team does. But in a world where base stats of new teams are so much more superior, most players will find that their 40% of unusable roster fluff will become 70%+ of unusable fluff once a few new teams are dropped.
I think every character should just be plug and play. It would crate such and diverse, custom favorite, and insane amount of teams that you could use for every asoect of the game. Im tired of only being able to use most characters with their teams. It limits the flexibility ro create your own custom teams of top Marvel characters..
Wait so if you take Ares against a team with the Leader you could get 15 charged haha. That can be 15 turns of +20% speed! Hopefully there is a trial/scourge we can use Ares in that has an enemy like The Leader with tons of charge.
Loki does too, since the stealth at half health forces ZIM and the Gregs to be targeted and lower the enemy speed drastically and flipping all negative effects to positive effects, and healing the others back up.

I quit around the time Rogue was coming out initially and just recently came back but I never unlocked Ultimus through his orbs and I had already completed DD3 before they moved him... How tf am I supposed to get him now?
They always release these kinda OP characters or highly requested characters for all the community to easily acquire when the community is at its angriest. They are pacifier characters, don't fall for it. Say "thank you, Scopley" but stay angry, don't forget why you are angry and that things need to change!

Can someone explain to me why the illuminati orbs have black bolt and iron man shards in them. I know thats the team, but they have their own permanent event, so 99% of the player base already has them at 7*
This is imo the way everything should be done. The spenders get a leg up but f2p can also grind them out. Now if they could just keep it this way. Some people will always complain about the spending aspect but this is fair. This is how you keep the game alive… it doesnt take back the bs theyve been doing recently but if they came stay on this track I have no problem going back to spending 80-250 a month depending on what is being put out I may spend more usually. I didnt purchase Hank or Shuri but still got them unlocked through coring… not enough for CB unlocked but whatever Ill deal with it. I won’t support the game monetarily if theyre screwing over most of the player base. Only 2 of us in my alliance were able to unlock hank and shuri cause we had a crazy amount of cores saved up. It took A LOT for me to get shuri. I got Hank with just 4 orbs cracked. Got a lucky pull for once.
This just shows that this company, and the team DO know what they are doing. So all the bugs, tone def decisions, etc look that much worse. Because we all can see that you can do this. Ares looks great, the kit attached to War makes sense. I will say I don't like Gorr on the team. Gorr should be a future legendary as a counter to this team. I'd been happy with the Sky Fathers, use Zeus, Odin, Ares, Thor, Set, Osiris, as examples.

Ares sounds like he could slot nicely into Undying since they still have two slots open, they are war offense and he is plug and play.
