My brother is working as a clerk in SBI 5+yrs experience. He says he's not interested in promotn as of now ,his salary is more than enough he says. not much wrk pressure too being in that particular rural branch where he is now .

Sir obviously, the person who's age is 55 is very much experienced and also his salary increases year on year. So Summation of all the increments of approx 25-30 years, might have reached a monthly salary of 1.25 lac, if he has cleared JAIIB CAIIB. he might have got 4 additional increments. so ultimately his salary might be high
A fresher PO gross is 77k approx.
and the answer to his qn to opt for PO or clerk varies from person to person, his mind set etc. Lot of factors come into play.

One should rise in his carreier but 5 days working and some changes in work pressure over officer cadre should also be lowered.

IS TRUE OFFICER IN MY BRANCH SITS UNTIL 8PM WE LEAVE BY 5 MAXIMUM 5:30 WE EVEN TAKE TEA BRAKES LUNCH BRAKES THEY JUST KEEP DOING WORK EVEN SOMETIME THEY COME TO BANCH ON SATURDAYs

You are only seeing the 1.2 lacs as clerk not seeing the clerks salary who take promotion it was much better than this 1.2 lac yes the more upper post the more work load it all depends on the persons capabilities to tackle pressure. Personal choice
My friend some of the clerk from ex army they will pay by bank almost .. after their last scale of pay. Example ... Like in my branch clerk from air force .. getting salary is 90 k and last year he join our bank.. so kid pls learn about seniority 1st. And sir present days why we all clerks refuse to be po and officer as in clerk after jaiib caiib and 2-3 yr seniority we get almost equal salary to po and no chances of transfer, for just 10 k extra salary why we left our birth state. 😂 Can't leave comfert zone on paying transfer

No..... In my batch, there are more than 10 ESM and even at the time of joining their salary are approx 1.2 lacks and their age is around 45 years..... So no way at 55 years of age, an ESM can get only 1.2lacks,their salary at this age must cross 1.5 lacks
