My last party I set up a self serv station with garnish and the first few people served themselves to most of the alcohol and I ended up playing bartender to make sure drinks were controlled. But with this system there are 4 pods in a 18.00 tube. That's 4.5 per drink. I don't think it's worth it. Maybe the Bartesian is a better choice. I can use my own spirits and their flavors break down to 3.5 per drink and you can adjust the strength. I am not sure which to choose. If the pods were cheaper drinkworks would be the clear winner.
I am running around these two machines myself. The drinkworks is all in one and makes cold drinks beer, ciders, and carbonated drinks, but the bartesian, you can control strength of drink and choose whichever spirits you like for taste. Bartesian you have to add ice becasue it wont be cold, but I like the fact you can make virgin drinks to still be in the loop with friends.
If people have disposable income, let them indulge in whatever they want to buy. As for the environment, they supply a bag to send the empty pods back. Geeez, people are people complaining or not.....
Translation: we put moonshine or pure ethanol in little plastic cups so you can buy a machine to add cold water to it and dispense out from a sleek metal box. Cost to person hundreds of dollars. Cost to environment moar plastic cups. Alternatively: buy a bottle of gin and read a book or a website on how to properly mix drinks like a regular human. Cost: the price of the alcohol and a library or internet access plus random materials. Recyclable glass bottles and reusable steel mixers that can be used for hundreds of years. Why is everyone missing this point? Sure it can be convenient, but only for those who can't carry a full bar. So airplanes and astronauts can get "mixed" drinks. Big deal. I can just do this myself! And have fun doing it!
$1,000 to set up a home bar? Does this fool think I'm going to go out and build an actual bar for people to sit at? No! I'd buy a 5th each of rum, whiskey, vodka, tequila, gin, and brandy, a few beers, a few bitters, some juices, and some tonic water. I doubt all that would even cost $300. How many drinks can I make with a little over a gallon of booze? Surely more drinks than the pods will at the same price. And thanks for more garbage waste Keurig! That's exactly what we needed. More shit for people to throw away and fill those dumps with.
In the future all you need is soda stream, kuirig, drinkworks, and quiet possably the beer version, but were is the microwave thats in back to the future part 2 that they put a pizza in and in 2.3 seconds its ready? Kurig needs to team up with ready to eat foods like that then you can make a meal in 5 mins all the time
You can; the drinks are weak ... you’re likely going to want to add a shot. I like my drinks medium to strong & most every capsule calls for a shot. The exception might be the Cosmopolitan, but I don’t usually drink those.
They pitch this like it's good for parties, but the price of each pod is roughly 4 to 5 dollars. I don't know about your friends, but spending 20 bucks a person on a house full of people is not cost efficient.
"we take the alcohol before the water is added, before it gets to the cask.." what? And here I thought alcohol was made in the cask as the yeast converts sugars to alcohol. So how do you take the alcohol out for these pods before the alcohol is made?
Alcohol starts as sugar in the form of a grain, fruit, etc and yeast. It ferments and that gives you beer, wine, or a mash, etc to then distill into a spirit (boil and recondensate). It ends up being a clear liquid at about 97% alcohol, essentially Everclear. Then that’s when it’s put into cask or barrel for aging (if we’re talking brown spirits.) Some of that alcohol content evaporates and then after aging in casks, water is added to bring it down to proof (like the standard 40% ABV for example). This is the quickest, shortest way I can explain this. It’s obviously an oversimplification but that’s the gist. Btw, all this machine is doing is adding water to the mix in the pod. That’s a lot of money for essentially a water dispenser.
You must find cheap bars....can't remember the last time I paid only $4 for a drink....of course you need to figure in the cost of the machine but I don't think they are counting that.

God I miss this the pre-recession era

You think people will really use that bag to send spent pods back?
Because I'm 100% positive 99% of consumers won't.
here in Hawaii most drinks at a bar run about $10-16

Buy a jigger and shaker tins for $20 and mix your own drinks… it’ll be cheaper, taste better, and more fun.
I heard Karen Walker was one of the initial investors.

Good lord I hope not
It makes beer as well lol.
....aaaaaand they are out of business!
Wish we could use our own spirits. Especially the whiskey....
you want this one then - ua-cam.com/video/RdMu1_axDMQ/v-deo.html

Try the bartesiam
I also like how he's talking about complexity coming from the contents of a plastic cup being pissed out of a machine. What a tool.
Only tool is you.

What? You mad that you bought one and wasted your money? It's not my fault you're not very smart. Don't blame me.

Must suck to be broke.
@@brucef310 😂
Mine is not recognizing the pod 😭
I'm currently returning my second machine. Both have not worked. Worst part is it takes a week to get it to us. Not looking great. Cant recommend.
Discontinued
Try Bartesian or Black and Decker Cocktail Maker

Except for the lifting ring, the entire thing is plastic or chrome painted plastic. That's concerning.
$15 dollars a small drink is to much!!!
Bring back Keurig Kold!
What's that & what did it do ?!? 🤔
Yees plz its so much better then stupid sodastream
Aquarian Goddess it was like sodastream but with real sodas like coca coma, sprite etc
@@ConeArmy Ohhhh, coca coma sounds great! Can't wait to try it. Does it come with a bed?
They had to get rid of it. People kept referring to it as Keurig Kold Kit and they can't have that abbreviation associated with their brand. . . .
Poor explanation, what exactly the machine does ?
If you are interested in joining, I made a Facebook group to connect with other Drinkworks owners: facebook.com/groups/634631227373465//
**SCAM ALERT** 1 pod = 1 drink... Its cheaper to have a bartender make you a drink.
