    I was briefly shown how to use a warping board with my samplett loom but couldn't remember the details when I tried to do it. . Luckily I discovered your videos which are so helpful and easy to understand. I had been using a peg to warp my samplett loom and always seem to have trouble with the tension as well as having a lot of waste especially when doing a long warp. Using a warping frame is much easier. You are a great teacher and I'm looking forward to watching more of your videos.

    The warping board was a mystical creature that I could not wrap my head around. Thank you for demystifying it! While my husband will help me, I prefer to do it myself and this allows me to do it! Thank you for your easy to understand video!

    I am new to weaving and created a nightmare after taking my warp off the board to put on my Ashford Rigid Heddle. Direct warping using the warping board looks soooooo much easier and less change for 'murphy' to show up. Thanks for the video, awesome demo's in these 3 parts! 😄

    Absolutely awesome, iv had a warping board for several years and it's never been used after watching your podcast I got it down and tried and I have to admit it was like cutting through butter. Great teacher

    Hi Amy . Just wanted to say your 3 videos on the warp board are the clearest and most direct of explanation I've seen yet. I built my own rigid loom just before Christmas and have made a few tea towels. Warped at 110" down the hall. I've wanted to make a warp board but the other videos were a bit complicated. Thanks for your clarity. Thanks so much for your time and effort.

    I love the idea of using regular copy paper rather than long sheets of butcher paper or something. This is a great trio of videos that will help me a lot when I finally get to weaving on my jack table loom.

    Amy thank you so much for your time in doing these 3 videos. I’ve learned a lot. My favorite part is that I won’t have to ask my Husband to help me. He has his own things he likes to do and now I won’t have to disturb him.

    Thank you. I think the hybrid way will work for me. My first and only RH is a 30" Schacht Flip and it kills my back. It is pretty deep front to back and I can't reach everywhere. Now I just need to figure out the clamping situation because my table is oval, although taking the leaves out gives a nice straight edge to clamps to in the middle (if that makes sense.).

    OMG! YOU ARE AWESOME! I am a very new weaver and don't even have a warping board and this video series was still more helpful than the ones from the official channel. The tips on solo winding on which, again , is way better than the official channel, and tying the warp in bundles as you go are going to help me so much because I have two cats and a partner who would rather be shot than hold a warp for me.

    Amy D. you have a new fan. I've warped directly and I've used a warping board but never dreamed of a hybrid method. I think it's revolutionary! Plus, my husband will be glad I've learned to warp without his help. Awesome video, very clear instruction.

    I was directed to these three videos a few months ago and decided it was way too much trouble to warp like this. No offence, but I could do better with just stretching out the warp with a few weights I mean, gravity! How could it be simpler and not work!?!? Well, I’m back and I was wondering if there was a chance I could have a little more gravy on my humble pie please? A few weaving projects later, and a succession of warping tragedies, I see the light. Amy, I’m sorry for doubting you. 😔. I promise I’ll pay more attention the next time. 😂😂👍👍

    New sub here. Thank you so much for this series of videos! ❤️ I’m coming back to weaving after several years and definitely need a review. Using the warping board is genius! My back gets super sore after leaning over to warp, even thought I prop things up to a higher level. This is a great solution for seniors like me with lower back issues . I just ordered a towel kit from Cotton Clouds and can’t wait to get started.

    Amy, thanks so much for this series. I definitely now confident I'll be able to use the warping board that I just bought. I've been using pegs, which work fine, but I think I'll have more control with the warping board. My only issue is I don't have a table to put the warping board on and my 24" Ashford RHL is on a stand so I'm not quite sure how I'm going to do this. One question, how do you tie the knotted bundles to the front warping beam? I've seen several ways to do this but not sure, especially if they need to be tightened. How do you tighten them? And I'm with everyone else who's so grateful for your generous time and knowledge and sharing with us.

    Hi! Just watched your videos yesterday and am halfway through putting a long, wide warp on my loom, but the warping pegs are full! What do you think of tying and chaining the first half of the warp, thus freeing up the warping pegs? Will it make a difference in the eventual tension when winding on? Thanks, really enjoyed your videos and presentation!

  • @johnmichaels6794
    @johnmichaels6794 3 роки тому

    First, thanks Amy. When you are winding on, it looks like the centre of you warp is quite a bit looser than the edges (because of the sharp angle on the sides v centre), did you not find that that causes issues when weaving? If so, how did you resolve that?
