Your chances of survival are about the same in either event. I will state that the water in that bay, besides being highly polluted, is also very chilly!
love the sense of humor some of these pilots have, flying to san diego the other day when we were experiencing some delays and the pilot said atc was like his wife, constantly changing her mind. put everyone in a good mood!
+turbofanlover thank you! Appreciate the comment :) Happy you enjoyed the video! Im itching to get on my next flight and film something! Thanks again for watching.
Thank you for a beautifully stunning Contribution. From the Captain's professional, 'Safety First', example and subsequent announcement with PAX calming humor. To the HD stunning views of the cityscape's below. Brilliant!!!
Got to love the sound of that engine, can listen to it all day, makes me sleep like a baby, great job with this video, thank you for sharing it with us !!!!👍👍✈✈✈
Speaking about navigating around, That's why I love that airport. I've had four Guide Dogs from Guide Dogs for the Blind over in San Rafael, and they fly about half of their graduates into and out of SFO, and the other half in and out of Portland, Or. I think that's PDX. My fourth Guide is near retirement, and I'm applying for my fifth. They now also come to our homes and train us with new Guides if we have a hard time flying now. I'm so thankful, because I was diagnosed with Trigeminal Neuralgia nearly ten years ago, and I had to go home back in 2008 while I was training with Zahara, my current Guide. Sorry I can't upload a photo, but I can tell y'all she's a beauty!
+Heather stubbs Thats cool! On my flight from IAH -> SFO on this trip, I flew next to such a cute support dog.. she ended liking me haha.. its owner was ok with it too.. Flying on a 767 with the lay flats, she found a place by my feet to sleep :P
...it's a modern miracle there hasn't been a lot of mishaps at SFO...the way the runways are configured at 90 degree angles and the amount of traffic in/out...
Outstanding video! Thanks for posting! You captured all of the engine sounds during takeoff and how they change as the aircraft is climbing. Great job!
That flight route brought SFO departures directly over our house in Richmond CA.. Underneath would be arrivals heading to OAK.. I would almost always catch the evening arrival of a fedex MD-11(low approach) into OAK when watering the lawn.
Until I moved away, I used to drive down on HWY 101 and pull over on the road and watch the aircraft coming into SFO. I never got tired of it. It relaxed me. I'm a GA pilot and landed there once only, but I've been in and out so many times, and I never get tired, I always have a starboard window seat so I can watch as we approach and land. Thrilling, every single time! (Long, long ago, people used to go out on that pier and fish, no more, of course.) Very nice aerial views of the San Francisco Bay area, heading north on a very nice clear day!
I wonder how many passengers started to worry after the pilot had announced that was his "practice takeoff"? That was hilarious! Nice to see this unique footage!
Great job capturing the video and the great sound! Glad everything was ok. Also fantastic views of the Golden Gate, the Bay Bridge and downtown SF and Oakland.
Yes, look at the wings taking on the weight.. Very nice...It reminds me of the 777-300's and the 747-400's wings taking out the weight to lift. Very nice take off.
+slgordon3 I thank Capt. Bob for that!! hehe It was amazing!! I've flown through SFO numerous times.. never have I seen the city like that, and on such a clear day!! Thank you for watching!! :)
Not all of us live quite that close... the Bay Area is one of the most densely-populated parts of the U.S. Property costs there are insane. You can rent a small apartment there with a roommate and still pay more in rent than I pay on a 15-yr mortgage for a 2,000 sqft brick house on an acre.
By Tokyo, Hong Kong, and Singapore standards, that's considered low-density. In fact, much of San Francisco's housing stock is 2 to 5 floor houses & apartments. Some argue that San Francisco's exorbitant rent & home prices can be made more affordable by increasing the supply of homes... by redeveloping these buildings into >10-20 floor apartments... like the norm in Japan, Korea, and Hong Kong.
Jonathan Tan Yes, that's why I said "of the U.S." and not "of the world." Seoul is also extremely dense, with high-rise apartment buildings everywhere.
That was nice to see SFO International behind you on that soft right turn. I like flying out of LAX as well...We always fly out over the ocean and turn back to see and fly over LAX. Flying is so nice...
Very nice! Just a couple of weeks back, I was on an American flight going SFO - MSP - which took off on 1 L and turned anti-clockwise to give me the perfect Bay Tour flying the opposite direction - SF Downtown, Bay Bridge and GGB before completing the circle over SFO in a north-easterly direction. Bay Area is a fabulous place to take off and land in all kinds of weather!
outstanding video....well done, clear, non shakey and amazing views...thanks so much for sharing this. I live in new Zealand and most likely will never get the chance to see your country so more videos like this would be awesome.
I drive through San Fran a few times a month and it really is a beautiful city. Never had the pleasure of flying over it yet so thanks for the great video
I drove super shuttle in the Bay Area for a while, and nice to recognize lots of stuff! That runway, usually for heavies, goes right over where we used to park in the lot, waiting for the next run. One (or everyone!) could tell a 747, from an A-360 as one shook the windows loose, and the other was like a drifting bird, but taking off, full, heavy and all!
Great shots of San Francisco, had to 'favorite' this one! I don't live there but I've driven in the Bay Area so many times; it's so cool to see (where I've been) from the air, thanks!!
+Plane Dude Thanks!! Yea, its great when the crew have a sense of humour! Right from the welcome greeting, to welcoming us to Vancouver. Was such a pleasant flight!
"Attention passengers, as we pass over the Eden Project, we're now descending into the city of Citiesburg. If you have a connecting flight, you don't."
This happened to me once on a Northwest flight out of Reagan like 20 years ago. We started moving, engines made a terrible noise, then slowed down and we started sliding, we turned off the runway and stopped. Scared the hell out of me. It was an A320.
Wow, that was a close call with the Air Canada airbus landing on the other runway....I would be terrified, you never know what those crazies will do at SFO
Flying into Chicago at night is awesome, when the pilot goes out over Lake Michigan and then turns and comes in to land at O'Hare. Best skyline in the world!!
AvgeekYVR its an nice video really i hvae enjoyed mean time ..this video running at 6:47 some divided blocks are there in the ground ..what is that ? any cultivation ?
Never mind that it took two tries to get them going - it was a beautiful day and I just love the SFO Airport. It is nice and clear and to the East you can see Mt. Diablo...I always look for it.
Excellent aerial views of San Francisco and Oakland. On departure I noticed something written on a hill side for the benefit of the planes flying overhead. My vision is not vey good now and I could not make it out. Can you please tell me what it says?
Great engine sound! Great video (liked). But admittedly I'd personally chose another seat. Just ahead of the fans, as in the video, is probably the loudest seat on the airplane.
+corisco tupi Thank you! I personally LOVE the sounds of the engines, probably my favourite seat.. however, am the last to get served food :( Will generally choose the seat in front of this one just so I have a selection of a meal haha
+Obsessive Mind Oh!! Don't be!! Enjoy the experience!! :) Distract yourself.. if you are sitting by the window, pull out your phone and start recording your journey!! :)
Lakshmi Sreejith It is at 80-95 throttle from 100% can cause engine errors.. And if the aircraft was light they could have used 70-89% power.. If the aircraft is heavy.. Yes, it is necessary to have full speed and power on the aircraft.
SCYG : Minecraft & More Why would they derate their engine THAT MUCH? Just because it could reach v1/v2 at 85% N1 you have no Idea what the payload is.
Much better a slight delay than an unscheduled dip in the bay.
maybe a dip in the mountan
hahaha what a joke you are a genius mister
Absolutely Ms Joanie, but I'd rather go down over land than be eaten by sharks. LOL
Your chances of survival are about the same in either event. I will state that the water in that bay, besides being highly polluted, is also very chilly!
+MrJoelted i dont mind being eaten by that young female shark in shark tank !!
love the sense of humor some of these pilots have, flying to san diego the other day when we were experiencing some delays and the pilot said atc was like his wife, constantly changing her mind. put everyone in a good mood!
+stupid2574 hahaha thats hilarious!! Always a pleasure to have a crew with a sense of humour!
Except the married ladies ofcourse
" well, that was our practice take off.. " love it lol
+Yol hehe its the best when the crew have a sense of humour :P Thanks for watching!! :)
This recording is superior to many because of the high video quality, clarity and a good selection of views below. Thanks for sharing!
+Larry Hammonds Thank you! Appreciate the comment!! Thanks for watching! Glad you enjoyed it!
Apparently he was using a Galaxy instead of an iPhone. 😁
Love jet engines, they still seem so sci-fi even though they have been around since the 1940s.
paul Smith these arent jet engines
May I ask what they are then?
turbo fans are jet engines.
What about hover planes in the future 2020
2020 won't have hover-planes. Maybe 2050. And even then, airlines will still fly older, non-hover planes.
2:55 I thought that air Canada was going to land on the taxiway
memories bring back
| haha....😄 |
Same
Nice sounds, awesome views, and a bonus rejected takeoff.........what's not to like? Great vid. :)
Got to love the sound of that engine, can listen to it all day, makes me sleep like a baby, great job with this video, thank you for sharing it with us !!!!👍👍✈✈✈
Love flying in and out of San Fran...so scenic.
+neilybobmojo Really is!! I still cant believe how clear of a day it was!! Thanks for watching :)
Totally agree. We flew back from London into San Fran. The view was fantastic, and the airport was easy to navigate around.
Speaking about navigating around, That's why I love that airport. I've had four Guide Dogs from Guide Dogs for the Blind over in San Rafael, and they fly about half of their graduates into and out of SFO, and the other half in and out of Portland, Or. From a pilot's perspective, they hate flying in and out of SFO...
+Heather stubbs Thats cool! On my flight from IAH -> SFO on this trip, I flew next to such a cute support dog.. she ended liking me haha.. its owner was ok with it too.. Flying on a 767 with the lay flats, she found a place by my feet to sleep :P
Great and rare scenic take off over SanFrancisco. Good job!
+dogspit zen Thanks again!! I could barley keep my mouth off the floor it was a pretty amazing view!!
Ladies and gentleman, we now proceed to drive you to your destination.
????????????????
That makes no sense
Ladies and Gentlmen, We will start racing to our gate momentarily in the mean time, keep those seats fasent until the captain turns them off
Drive to your destination mean that they are going to use the highways, roads etc. lol
738 crews are always great, on Southwest once the flight attendant was playing with the mood lighting
On Titan airways one of the crew helped me get a high score on a game, they step in for ba when they have to
+youtube fever what game may I ask
A wild Pidgey has appeared! Airplane used Steel Wing. It's super effective!
25852Dan a wild 727 has appeared. The FAA deems it 'no longer safe for airlines to operate' the FAA is super effective!
Groyd
lol
Aaand at 4:10, you can see the United Airlines Maintenance Hangar at SFO.
DUDE IN JULY I WAS ON A UNITED AIRLINES TAKING OFF FROM SFO AND WE HAD A REJECTED TAKEOFF TOO
...it's a modern miracle there hasn't been a lot of mishaps at SFO...the way the runways are configured at 90 degree angles and the amount of traffic in/out...
Robert Allen that's very true.. Whenever I depart SFO on the virtual network there is a bunch of canceled takeoff clearances
Robert Allen Not a miracle, rather the very hard work of some great air traffic controllers.
07:31 *ANOTHER PLANE!* A little above the engine, in the same direction of SFO you can see the tiny white livery flying by!
+Steve Rogers wow! Good eye!!
Hello captain Rodgers
That was a *Mail Plane*
#3Amigos
omfg loved that movie 😂
Outstanding video! Thanks for posting! You captured all of the engine sounds during takeoff and how they change as the aircraft is climbing. Great job!
Thank you!! This was a pretty awesome departure from SFO!!
Good to see they put the bridge back together after Magnito broke it and moved it and all...
And then Trespasser came along and was all like, "Hold my beers".
ABSOLUTELY LOVE THE WHINE OF THAT HUGE "TURBO FAN" ENGINE! BEAUTIFUL VIDEO. THANKS!
Nice view of the city, I have always flown at night arriving and departing in San Francisco that is also quite a view
Flying during the day is beautiful!
That flight route brought SFO departures directly over our house in Richmond CA.. Underneath would be arrivals heading to OAK.. I would almost always catch the evening arrival of a fedex MD-11(low approach) into OAK when watering the lawn.

Came for the RTO, and then got some! Awesome. The buzzsaw sound variations were like music to the ears.

"You may now use all electronic devices." 😏
You got treated to awesome views *and* a tour of SFO. A real treat. I would have been in heaven.
+slgordon3 I thank Capt. Bob for that!! hehe It was amazing!! I've flown through SFO numerous times.. never have I seen the city like that, and on such a clear day!! Thank you for watching!! :)
Very nice...I am glad the Capt. came on the PA to let you guys know what went wrong....Nice...
When I see how jam packed we as humans live, it's no wonder people go berserk. That is just insane. What a great POV from the sky.
Not all of us live quite that close... the Bay Area is one of the most densely-populated parts of the U.S. Property costs there are insane. You can rent a small apartment there with a roommate and still pay more in rent than I pay on a 15-yr mortgage for a 2,000 sqft brick house on an acre.
dont worry, when that earthquake hits, it won't be so densely packed.
By Tokyo, Hong Kong, and Singapore standards, that's considered low-density.

Jonathan Tan Yes, that's why I said "of the U.S." and not "of the world." Seoul is also extremely dense, with high-rise apartment buildings everywhere.
Jonathan Tan sky scraper residences sound like a great idea in an area widely known for earthquakes ;)
Awesome video, thanks for sharing! Those views of SF were perfect, looked like a nice day without any fog.
That was nice to see SFO International behind you on that soft right turn. I like flying out of LAX as well...We always fly out over the ocean and turn back to see and fly over LAX. Flying is so nice...

Those engines at full throttle are deafening. Not for the faint of heart. Where's my Xanax ....?
outstanding video....well done, clear, non shakey and amazing views...thanks so much for sharing this. I live in new Zealand and most likely will never get the chance to see your country so more videos like this would be awesome.
+mike richards Thanks man! I am actually from Vancouver, Canada; you should come visit!
Hi...this is a great video! The views of the city and topography is impressive. Thanks for sharing this!
+JD L Thanks!! :) And thank you for watching.
I drive through San Fran a few times a month and it really is a beautiful city. Never had the pleasure of flying over it yet so thanks for the great video

nice video, man! used to work as a ramp agent at SFO. really miss the Bay area!
+Aaron Little Nice! So did I years ago! Miss those days. Thanks for watching!
One of the best SFO-departures I've seen on YT. great work!
Beautiful view.... Thanks for sharing
Awesome video my friend, thank you for sharing :)
You have my like and full watch :P
Hope you have a great week ...
great picture color!
Great catch and view of the SFO Airport from the air!
Thanks!
Nice job filming, thanks for sharing.
Great video. Those views -- spectacular.
+coashddjj2 Thanks!! Was a pretty spectacular takeoff.. Such a clear day in San Fran!!
Great shots of San Francisco, had to 'favorite' this one! I don't live there but I've driven in the Bay Area so many times; it's so cool to see (where I've been) from the air, thanks!!
Captain Bob was awesome. Perfect day for a practice takeoff! :D
+MaulMeister 50 Every announcement he made was pretty hilarious!! You can tell Capt. Bob loves doing what he does! Thanks for watching!! :)
This is a great takeoff! Hello from Kazakhstan!
Great video! Wonderful view of San Fran!!
+Carolina Carolina Thank you!! This was the best view of San Fran I've had!
beautiful wing flex!
If you like wing flex check out a Dreamliner, Boeing 787. Carbon Fiber galore...
+manex3 seen that too! its beautiful
Good quility video liked it alot, pretty funny how the captain says the rejected takeoff is a practice. lol
+Plane Dude Thanks!! Yea, its great when the crew have a sense of humour! Right from the welcome greeting, to welcoming us to Vancouver. Was such a pleasant flight!
4:02 a 747 at the bottem
3:09 engine going that massive roar
Super awesome video! Makes me miss SF
I agree
This video gives me Cities Skylines ideas
Lol. I love that game.
"Attention passengers, as we pass over the Eden Project, we're now descending into the city of Citiesburg. If you have a connecting flight, you don't."

Great video! I’ve never been outside of Australia but that’s one mighty, big city!
Crystal clear video
+Mel Saunder Thanks!! Gotta give thanks to my iPhone for that :P
Nice turbofan buzzsaw sound. Can't say I think all that vibrates is good.
Wow, that was a close call with the Air Canada airbus landing on the other runway....I would be terrified, you never know what those crazies will do at SFO
Great crisp views. Almost looks surreal.
From my old iPhone LOL!
Thats really cool to see the bay area like that. Next time I fly, I should leave from SFO, but I don't want any delays, lol.
Love the take off & views! Thanks for sharing.
Flying into Chicago at night is awesome, when the pilot goes out over Lake Michigan and then turns and comes in to land at O'Hare. Best skyline in the world!!
Nice video! Spectacular view.
+tommy twist Thanks!! Views were pretty amazing!!
Great view of the city
Wow , San Fran Looks Amazing , will defo visit one day
I just came across this: great video; am amazed you had such a clear window to record through!
Great Video and spectacular views, just beautiful.
unbelievable views, and lucky to get that with no fog
Nice scenery for sure and good humor from the crew.
+38911bytefree The crew on this flight, and actually most of my flights are generally pretty good... though, this was the most humorous!! :)
Wow loved the engine sound!
+Sujay R Thanks!! Also a big fan of engine sound!! Thanks for watching :)
great sound of engine i love Airplanes
General electric turbo fan?
Honestly that will put me to sleep
CFM56 Turbo fan
Mahalo! Great views of S.F. that I have never seen from the air.
+Nigel Mahood Thanks!! Amazing right? Everything looks so perfect down there :P
AvgeekYVR its an nice video really i hvae enjoyed mean time ..this video running at 6:47 some divided blocks are there in the ground ..what is that ? any cultivation ?
What'd you use to record this dude? The sound is hella amazing.
+Hestic Thanks!! I filmed this with my iPhone 6 :)
1:50 practice take-off?
Great video and terrific job by the crew
Damn, some awesome views. I wish I could go back to SF and fly into SFO during the day. What a vista.
Fantastic views, excellent film
+Bobby Paluga Thanks!! Appreciate the comment :)
Love the sound of that CFM 56.
Bit late, but I think south San francisco the industrial city.
Passenger: wtf why the plane stop?
Pilot: sorry ladiees and gentleman i forgot my chocolate bar
Beautiful views of *San Francisco*
I was not aware of the Central Park shaped park
That view of my birth city is just awesome. Haven't been to SF in 4 years though
No me canso de ver esa hermosura...
Holy moly 3:08 the pilot pushed the throttle to max. it runs on like 102.3 N¹
i love these type of video. i get the great feeling of being up there without the fear.
Im terrified too! But i love planes! I have to fly on monday and im so scared!
+Robert Hamel Happy to help! But nothing is better than the real thing!! ;)
+Obsessive Mind Oh!! Don't be!! Enjoy the experience!! :) Distract yourself.. if you are sitting by the window, pull out your phone and start recording your journey!! :)
Amazing view, and engine sounds. Quite the scenery.
+Geoffr524 Thanks!! :)
very nice view 👌 thank you for sharing this video
Thanks!!
Very cool, thanks for sharing.
AAAAND WE ARE OFF! ... nope just kidding
Reminds me of my days living in Inner Sunset, flew right over it.
The buzzing sound you hear is the engine in full speed
Lakshmi Sreejith It is at 80-95 throttle from 100% can cause engine errors.. And if the aircraft was light they could have used 70-89% power.. If the aircraft is heavy.. Yes, it is necessary to have full speed and power on the aircraft.
no its at close to 99% N1
99% N1? Aircrafts could reach V1 and V2 at 85% N1
SCYG : Minecraft & More Why would they derate their engine THAT MUCH? Just because it could reach v1/v2 at 85% N1 you have no Idea what the payload is.
Lakshmi Sreejith certainly doesn't sound normal. Sounds very disconcerting. I wouldn't want to listen to that for hours during a flight.
Aahh San Francisco. Beautiful city with the perfect climate but expensive as hell. Loved it though. Thanks for posting.
Such an awesome city eh? Thanks for watching.
Check out the wing 'bending', so to speak. When you really think about it, nothing should really fly, and, yes, I know, it's all aerodynamics, etc.
+David Barnett Thanks David!! hehe I know what you mean.. Love watching the wings flex! Especially in heavy turbulence ;) Thanks for tuning in!! :)
Great video! love the view after take off :)
