@@get__some 959B has a better noise filter and no echo. I'll have them listed tomorrow and probably a video tonight. I believe that will be a better option for you
Nothing wrong with Galaxy radios, I have two of them and never a problem. I got an old 77 that was a mobile for many years and I have 95 T2, that was in my step son's Kenworth for a long while, we never had any problems.
Another excellent clip, rooster. I am definitely not an import person, as I've never owned one, and most likely never will, but that doesn't mean I didn't enjoy the clip. I don't think you ever did a clip on an external DSP speaker, but if you have one, I'm sure a lot of 11 meter operators might be convinced, to purchase one, especially if they enjoy shooting skip. I had a West Mountain DSP speaker, for approximately three months, and I absolutely found it incredibly useful on the free bands. Don't get me wrong they work just as well on 38 LSB and am. In my opinion a dsp speaker should be a prerequisite, not just for ham operator, but for the 11 meter crowd also. Something tells me that you have one, as you seem to have at least one of everything. LOL. Keep up the good work rooster. God bless you and yours. 73
@@Rooster_Radio I did notice it had the channel conversion I was watching at work earlier I couldn’t hear the best but I heard you say something that made me think it had more unlocked potential 🤔 .. but if not , still good numbers for a sidebander . Good looking radio 👍
That's was more so w 3600 boards. Newer SMT boards don't hsve same issue . Similar to new styles, very stable over large operating temp and dc voltage settings
Nice vid! Wow I like that radio without all the nonsense knobs!! And the power is great!
Unfortunately they discontinued them
can you waste the echo stuff and add a high cut filter to a 66v3? more than 12hrs a day using the radio in a large car
@@get__some Just buy a radio with a hi cut noise filter built in
@@Rooster_Radio i take a shine to galaxy and they ain't gettin no easier to come by. enjoying the videos. thanks for the come back

Hey rooster, were you able to check the shipment you got. Sat you said it may have came in. Thanks buddy, dan
Look for an email from me tomorrow Dan
@@Rooster_Radio okay
Who did the conversion and tune up on that radio ? Was the voltage regulator up graded ? What about the finals ? Any info would be great and Thanks .
Those have Dual Mosfet finals.
@@colt45peacemaker Which ones ? Irf520 or 2030.
@@GreyBeard1641 I don't know that...my guess is irf520
@@colt45peacemaker Yes they are 520's
Show meter face to see if it is dimming while you TX. My Galaxy 959's needed upgraded DC voltage regulators installed to stabilize power.
Are those radios peaked and tuned that you are using?
They must be, 30+W average? mine wont go past 23W peak w only VR peaking.
Is this radio bone stock out of the box or been converted and tuned up ?
You already know 🤔😉

I think I’m picking up what you’re putting down 👍
Galaxy radios have a terrible time with drifting frequency
They have for 35 years. Sideband is meh, till it warms up. I run an old Galaxy 66. No sideband, never had a problem.

@@eastcoastmecca7109 Oh ok, gotcha! Thank you for taking the time for the update!
@@christopherbell3768 I have a newer 959 and it is always drifting... Had to go to something with a coarse clarifier...
