Could WCW have beaten WWF with different management? Let us know in the comments below!
The problem with WCW wasn't "management" but a corporation culture. A corporation culture is built on many layers of people whose main goal is to cover their assess, not to improve profitability.
yeah if they had pushed the cruiser weight they def would have. people like Chris Jericho would have pushed them to the top. I mean look at who they had and look at were they are today.
No, because time Warner didn't want wrestling.
Arn was grandfathered in, he knew tactics like that was the only way he could get past a Sid, and Bischoff was not going to rock the boat
Nope
Sid’s second run n the WWF, his Psycho run, was the best work he ever did in the business. He got two title runs out of it.
Wish he stuck around a little while longer….he was tailor made for a fued with Kane…or as Mcmahons corporate enforcer against Austin
@McWaffles86 No can do, softball season was around the corner. 😄
@@ladadavidson7926just wanted to play softball didn’t he 😂
Agreed, but his first title run was a fluke. Vader was supposed to get the belt that time, but HBK vetoed that shit.
I was at the Raw February 17th 1997 edition when Sid defeated Bret Hart for his 2nd WWF title. Fun Fact: That Raw was the first one to have the WWF title change hands.
Imagine getting stabbed and then you get fired hahahahaha that's just incredible
Sid is a nice guy in my experience
I have heard stories about Arn. Not a nice guy. He is a bully. He pushed the wrong guys buttons. What was Sid supposed to do when Arn pulled scissors on him? It has been said Arn was not fired because he was Flair's buddy and if Arn went Flair went.
Arn was bischoffs boy. Politics
100%
That "my spot" promo proves Arn wasn't his boy
Sid got SCREWED
Arn shouldve gotten fired
@@JMEAUS22 ahh both stabbed each other!!!!!!
@@JMEAUS22 Arn stabbed Sid too, Bro
Arn pulled the knife out and stabbed him, he was about to pull out the glock but he realised it was still in america and couldn't, it's all sids fault, he was all stabby stabby
Arn was already an icon in WCW. Sid wasn’t a company man like Arn. So that’s why he doesn’t get fired.
Bischoff daysy he fired Sid because he took it one step further. But management did nothing, so as a wrestler all you can do is either fight the guy, or don't and be seen as a loser forever
The guy doing the interview might have the worst hair of all-time 😂😂
He looks like a 30 year old 8yr old.
I'm dead haahahah
Paul Phoenix
i still asking myself why and how this 10yr old got this job. i mean most of the guys he interviews he did not even see wrestle because he is too young.
IT's preposterous
Really you blamed this on Sid smh you let that type of environment happen period!! Many many wrestlers would’ve confronted Arn if they were pushed far enough and him stabbing someone he should’ve been gone immediately!! You obviously had issues with Sid so just say that!!
I feel like they could have just hashed this out in a No holds barred match at Fall Brawl but what do I know.
Scissors on a pole match?
You know fuck all
Tony Khan would’ve disintegrated if he saw Sid and Arn
That is hilarious I mean that clown I said he feared for his life what's the incident with CM Punk could you imagine if Tony would have witnessed that stabbing between Arn and sid? Lol. Tony would have had a nervous breakdown and he would have had to commit himself
😂🤣
Lmao😂
Remember in 2000 WCW when they "rebooted" the company and had all the champions give in their titles? Bischoff was trying to get Sid's World Heavyweight Title from him and he was reluctant to hand it over, so Bischoff was like "what's wrong Sid, forgot your scissors???" which was to the get the internet fans talking at the time since casual fans had no idea what he was talking about.
Arn started a fight. SID finished it.
Arn stabbed Sid 4 times, Sid stabbed Arn 20 times.
Good
Heard that story a little differently. It was actually Sid who made a remark which caused Arn to lose it and start attacking Sid with a beer glass in the lobby. Both were separated and went to their room. The rest is the same.
Anyways, the premise was Sid blaming WCW for making old, flabby looking Flair the face of the company which got Arn hot and supposedly ended with him hitting Sid with a beer glass.
Also, there was a rumor that both were about to be fired but Flair flat out told them if they fired Arn, he would leave too which led to them only firing Sid.
Was he defending himself.... both should get fired. Arn sounds like a drunk bully
Damn why does this sound so familiar 🤔..... (The Bucks decided to go to Cm Punks locker room) in stead of waiting until cooler heads
He fired Sid because Arn had more stroke being Ric Flair's buddy and an NWA old boy
arn didnt get fired for one simple reason and that was keeping ric flair happy! Nothing to do with sid starting it or shit like that
What's with Sid ending up with weird objects during a fight? A squeegee or a pair of safety scissors?
And people want to make a big deal out of a backstage scuffle…………
Thought Eric was going to get into "disparity of force" for a minute.
This whole time I thought sid stabbed arn.
Arn is Arn. That's why he kept his job.
When in the UK do as the English do
Say what you want about Eric, but the dude is likable. You'd want to hang with him.
Stop calling these shoots. He is just talking about what happen. Inside the ropes are the Kings of shit posting
this is the same person that said why did tony khan fire cm punk from aew? what a loser. cmpunk should have minded his own business and none of that would of happened but cmpunk chose it and got fired and im so happy for that
You screwed us english fans on that tour, not 1 major star was at men arena when they came over
Lool wat bullshit. Arn was wrong, sid was a real man.
Arn told Sid he sucked at softball 🥎 😂
not tough, you fire both. Like the last time with Dusty's boy and that former Demolition hire. They both have labelled themselves as dangerous individuals in the workplace, need to let em both go for the safety of the other talent.
Eh... I oddly agree with Eric's decision here. There was no reason for it to escalate to violence. He could waited and gone to Arn when they were both sober and said "hey, that was a bit over the top, even for you." instead, Sid went to kick Arn's ass. So Sid ended up being the aggressor.
And Arn grabbing the scissors was the far greater escalator, completely disproportionate response from a drunken fight to, let's face it.... possibly attempted murder!
LIES! You CANNOT BLAME THE VICTIM FOR STANDING UP FOR THEMSELVES! Eric KEPT Arn and FIRED Sid BECAUSE ARN HAD MORE FRIENDS! LOL!
Sid gets bullied in front of everyone, decides to confront the bully away from others and serve a receipt..... Gets fucking stabbed and they sack him?
More politics behind the scenes, i think went into that that poor decision
Politics, Bishoff is glossing over the fact that Arn was protected by Ric Flair, who just came back to WCW and reformed the Four Horsemen with him.
According to other reports of the incident, Arn was stabbed too but Bishoff doesn't mention it
SiD got the last laugh.
I remember the fan at Wrestlemania 13 who held up paper scissors with Sid and Arn written on it 😂 I was a kid when I first saw it and didn’t get the reference
I remember Ric Flair shooting on this and he said they first were going to fire Arn but, Flair said if you do then I am gone. They decided to fire Sid instead. Don’t know how true that is.
Bischoff almost said Rik instead of Arn.
So I'm inclined to believe it.
So Arn harrasses Sid
Sid finally confronts Arn, a normal thing back in the day
Sid gets stabbed and fired for it?
Man i would have punched Bischoff's lights out right there
No wonder he lost the war with that level of judgement
flair!!!!!!! n his power
@@nicotoscani1707 indeed n u can tell he was very well liked ive never heard a bad word on arn but sid jesus hes not liked at all
@@bassclay100 and yet Sid was a good guy, just very gullible which left him at the mercy of the ribbers and the shitstirrers. Bret Hart has said as much a few times.
Tbf accounts differ alot. I'd heard Sid was chocking Arn, Arn grabbed the scissors and slashed Sid, Sid wrestled away the scissors and repeatedly stabbed Arn. Who's to say what actually happened though?
@@Rj-pw7zs My comment goes with the information Bischoff gave
Now what really happened if Bischoff's lying, that's a whole different story we might never know
Arm should have been fired!!
So Arn turned into his brother Ole when he drank
Yeah except they werent really brothers.
If Arn hadn't started things by run his mouth on Sid, Sid would have never left his room to confront Arn. Arn started the whole thing. He should have been the one fired.
Sid is still the Master and the Ruler of the World!
Over in every company he ever wrestled iI. SiD could have came in at Cena's height and beat him for the title. Crowd would have ate it up.
Wait … I always thought Sid was the one that had the scissors? And when the titles were taken away when the new blood started Eric said to Sid “what’s the matter - forgot your scissors”
Nope he stabbed arn after he got stabbed already
Def gets a downvote, the whole outcome makes 0 sense.
So this is my first time learning about this.... And I have to say I am seriously shocked that it wasn't Sid that did the stabbing
Wait, I thought Sid stabbed Arn. It’s the opposite?!?
I thought the same thing
Arn stabbed Sid first, they got into a struggle over the weapon, and then Sid stabbed Arn.
My firzt time ever hearing Aid got stabbed. I thought Arn talked back to Sid..sid got mad and stabbed him up New Jack style.
@@MickiesheltonArn almost killed Sid
Eric forgot that Sid took the scissors back from arn and got arn way worse lol
Humbled Arn. Nearly killed him too. Never heard much about Arn after that. SiD got the last laugh becoming a multi time WWF champion and being over I very company he ever competed in. Arn did a cool spinebuster on Taker at Mania X8. That's about it.
This thing gets repeated ALL THE TIME! How about Hogan changing an entire show? Savage refusing to go out? Rushing to put the belt on a departing Benoit? Tell those tales.
“Arn would try to piss people off and stabbed Sid so I did the logical answer and fired Sid.” Saved you the watch.
😂😂😂
Nash and the nWo most likely really made fun of Arn by dressing up as him with the huge beer belly and cooler of beer because Nash, Hall, and X-Pac were friends with Sid in the WWF.
I don't know if they did it because they were pals with Sid, but I know Nash admitted the cooler he used was Arn's own cooler that he kept his beer in.
Both should have been fired
This stabbing incident might be keeping Sid Eudy out of the WWE Hall of Fame.
He’s not lying I’ve seen people change when they drink. Someone makes a joke that normally wouldn’t mean anything but after a few beers it’s fighting talk
I had to quit drinking cause I liked it too much, but I was a fun drunk. But I saw drinking would change my brother and dad into really mean people. It can change some people for the worst.
If you don’t want to be confronted by a man like Sid, then leave him alone. Arn was a dick and should have had his ass kicked.
It's so obvious Arn was a dodgy character, he was 'best friends' with Ric Flair until he retired and then hasn't spoken to him since
His career didn't require Flair anymore
But Flair is the same...
There goes Eric, proving that he's always been an incompetent leader.
If WCW was ran the right way, WWE would have won but i believe wcw would still exist.
pretty garbage take to say sid escalated when a guy pulls a weapon and uses it because he didnt want to get his ass beat justifiably so.
They both stabbed each other from the story i heard. Sid attacked arn when arn opened the door they fought into arns room arn grapped a pair of scissors stabbed sid sid got them away from arn and stabbed him back but sid was hurt worse and was bleeding in the hall of the hotel Vader had to put his thumb in the hole to stop the bleeding. Both vader and 2 cold scorpio tell the same version
From what I heard Vader grabbed Steve Austin's hand and jammed Austin's finger in Sid's wound and told Austin don't pull that out until the doctors tell you to. But very true because of Vader's quick thinking Sid is still with us today.
Say what you want about Bischoff, but at least he didn’t say he feared for his life over the incident.
Anm is very lucky it was only scissors, had Sid got hold of a squeegee again it'd been game over.
Eric, Arn started it so....Arn fault...
As usual, Bischoff glosses over key issues to protect the person (Arn) he likes in the equation. He fails to mention Arn had already initiated physicality by throwing a beer at Sid, and then threatening him with a broken beer bottle in the hallway as Sid was going to his room. Also funny he neglects to mention Arn was nearly killed for his stupidity that night, as Sid got hold of the scissors and stabbed him 20 times in return.
Arn was a better talker than Sid and used his skills to try to humiliate him. Sid became angry and went up to his room to confront him with a chair leg, Arn came out of the room with scissors and stabbed Sid. Sid, who is much bigger and stronger took the scissors from him, whipped Arn's ass and went to stabbing a helpless Arn until Scorpio saved Arn's life by stopping Sid. Sid was seriously wounded and ran to the lobby for help and Arn was laying there ass whipped and almost gone until both were taken by ambulance to the hospital. Arn Anderson had a higher position and was in better standing than Sid, plus he got his ass beat to the point of no return so after considering all those factors they fire Sid. Which probably was the best move due to Arn Anderson being a better communicator and easier to get along with than Sid. But according to witness accounts it was Arn who should be blamed.
Sid may not have been as elonquent on the mic in front of the camera, but, he's no dummy, by any means.
Imagine if this happened in AEW, Tony’s head would explode, and then he would show the security tape when Punk, oops I mean Sid, left for WWE
Arn shouldn’t have started shit
In todays world, if Eric brought Sid back and didn't get Arn's approval, that would be an undafe work environment lawsuit. Just imagine the liability on WCW if there was ANOTHER incident, and this time, Sid hurt Arn. Arn would have a multi-million dollar lawsuit victory on that one.
1st of, I don't know how much alcohol it would take to get me drunk enough to mess with Sid Vicious. I do know I have never, in all my life, been THAT drunk. Mess with Disco Inferno? Mess with Alex Wright? Maybe (altho I am sure they both would not have any issues knocking me in to next week either).
2nd- Firing Sid only is simply not a sound decision. You just openly and knowingly TOLD us you KNOW Arn instigated the altercation. Arn STABS Sid, and Sid alone gets fired? Lets face it. Back Stage politics played into this. Tell me Arn's standing within the locker room had no effect. Tell me Sid's standing (or lack there of) with the boys in the back didn't make it an easier decision.
3rd- this was all so frikken long ago, how can we even care?
Interesting to see something similar in modern days,
The Elite (and later Jack Perry) prod the bear, being CM Punk. The Bucks are the ones to walk into the room. Punk takes it the step further. And a similar situation happens at All In.
Which one is in the wrong (in your eyes) if any?
Everybody complaining about sid getting fired (he did start it, after all) but it aint like his career suffered. He went to wwf & had his best run there & made good money. He & arn patched things up. All good.
Easy E.
WCW Wasted all his work. WWE was no match for him. Time warner fucked everything up. so sad.
SOOooo, Eric promotes bullying and disciplines people who stand up to bullying. What a joke.
Softball season started in 3 weeks anyways, so Eric just let Sid get a few extra weeks of batting practice in before the season started.
It's all good, SiD kicked Arns ass and nearly killed him. Doubt Arn ever started any static with anybody after being humbled.
Absolutely pathetic from Bischoff. Obviously it was Flair who made that decision and not him.
the story of armed anderson.
Sid was money.
Can this interviewer ever just ask the question and let the guests speak?
He’s gotta talk for 3 minutes and has to say errmmm every other word
Arns mouth wrote checks his ass couldn't cash when no body was around.i wouldn't have talked shit to sid back then he was a mad man
Why not fire both? If Arn started shit at that point, how did Eric know it wouldn't happen with another person.
Sid Vicious Said The. Biggest Mistake He Ever Made Was Going To The WWE. WCW Had Promised Him Push To The Top. He Was Going To Have A World Title. With $750,00 A Year. The WWE Countered The Offer With He Being Paid Less Money/A Run Against Hulk Hogan. He Took The WWE Offer. He Got Paid $150,00 For Wrestlemania 8. Then He Left WWE. When He Went Back To WCW, He Was Supposed To Challenge Vader For The Title At Starrcade 1993, But He Got Into The Stabbing Altercation With Arn Anderson & Was First.
You dont need to capitalize every word....
Glad Sid humbled Arn.
The villian laugh he has lol
Sounds like an evil tim allen home improvement laugh lol
Where was Sid's Trusty Squeegee lol
😂 I’m dying!
Crazy to think arn started the whole thing cause ended up being the victim …but sid did escalate it by harming an almost killing arn with the scissors
Arn brought the scissors to the fight. SiD finished the fight
I thought sid stabbed arn
I think the different management i.e. Time Warner is what put the final nails in the coffin and glued the lid in place for good measure. Unlike Ted Turner who liked the 'business', the Time Warner corporate culture and new management seemed eager to bury WCW IMO.
Offset was the first to do a solo album. His collaboration with metro an savage. And then he had the best selling album out the three. He should be ranked the highest
Fires the wrong guy. There's no justification for that
Love W.C.W.!!!!
ERIK
Sid was one of my favorites in his 96/97 run.
How do you fire the one that got stabed.
Both should of been fired and fined

Still more interesting than the last 2 decades of lame wwe
Not really backstage is it
Nah that's bullshit! So he's getting bullied, he confronts the bully away from the public and in private and the bully stabs him so you have to fire him. Bullshit
