      The problem with WCW wasn't "management" but a corporation culture. A corporation culture is built on many layers of people whose main goal is to cover their assess, not to improve profitability.

Bischoff was trying to get Sid's World Heavyweight Title from him and he was reluctant to hand it over, so Bischoff was like "what's wrong Sid, forgot your scissors???" which was to the get the internet fans talking at the time since casual fans had no idea what he was talking about.

    Heard that story a little differently. It was actually Sid who made a remark which caused Arn to lose it and start attacking Sid with a beer glass in the lobby. Both were separated and went to their room. The rest is the same.
    Anyways, the premise was Sid blaming WCW for making old, flabby looking Flair the face of the company which got Arn hot and supposedly ended with him hitting Sid with a beer glass.
    Also, there was a rumor that both were about to be fired but Flair flat out told them if they fired Arn, he would leave too which led to them only firing Sid.

    As usual, Bischoff glosses over key issues to protect the person (Arn) he likes in the equation. He fails to mention Arn had already initiated physicality by throwing a beer at Sid, and then threatening him with a broken beer bottle in the hallway as Sid was going to his room. Also funny he neglects to mention Arn was nearly killed for his stupidity that night, as Sid got hold of the scissors and stabbed him 20 times in return.

  • @regnersario9996
    @regnersario9996 5 місяців тому +1

    Arn was a better talker than Sid and used his skills to try to humiliate him. Sid became angry and went up to his room to confront him with a chair leg, Arn came out of the room with scissors and stabbed Sid. Sid, who is much bigger and stronger took the scissors from him, whipped Arn's ass and went to stabbing a helpless Arn until Scorpio saved Arn's life by stopping Sid. Sid was seriously wounded and ran to the lobby for help and Arn was laying there ass whipped and almost gone until both were taken by ambulance to the hospital. Arn Anderson had a higher position and was in better standing than Sid, plus he got his ass beat to the point of no return so after considering all those factors they fire Sid. Which probably was the best move due to Arn Anderson being a better communicator and easier to get along with than Sid. But according to witness accounts it was Arn who should be blamed.

Mess with Alex Wright? Maybe (altho I am sure they both would not have any issues knocking me in to next week either).
    2nd- Firing Sid only is simply not a sound decision. You just openly and knowingly TOLD us you KNOW Arn instigated the altercation. Arn STABS Sid, and Sid alone gets fired? Lets face it. Back Stage politics played into this. Tell me Arn's standing within the locker room had no effect. Tell me Sid's standing (or lack there of) with the boys in the back didn't make it an easier decision.

    Everybody complaining about sid getting fired (he did start it, after all) but it aint like his career suffered. He went to wwf & had his best run there & made good money. He & arn patched things up. All good.

    Sid Vicious Said The. Biggest Mistake He Ever Made Was Going To The WWE. WCW Had Promised Him Push To The Top. He Was Going To Have A World Title. With $750,00 A Year. The WWE Countered The Offer With He Being Paid Less Money/A Run Against Hulk Hogan. He Took The WWE Offer. He Got Paid $150,00 For Wrestlemania 8. Then He Left WWE. When He Went Back To WCW, He Was Supposed To Challenge Vader For The Title At Starrcade 1993, But He Got Into The Stabbing Altercation With Arn Anderson & Was First.

    I think the different management i.e. Time Warner is what put the final nails in the coffin and glued the lid in place for good measure. Unlike Ted Turner who liked the 'business', the Time Warner corporate culture and new management seemed eager to bury WCW IMO.
