Fallout 4 - Building at County Crossing 01 (Ruined House Repair)

- This series covers the construction of my settlement at County Crossing. Apart from Place Everywhere no settlement object mods were used, and only uses vanilla and DLC objects with some additional assets being spawned using Console Commands.
In the first part of the series I patch up and repair the pre-existing ruined house. The ground floor will be used as the settlements bar, and also features some covered workshop and storage area.
The first floor has been made into a settler home with a covered porch and a small balcony at the rear to look out from the settlement.

we're so back
🥳🎉
Just wanted to give you a trick. If you use a wall with door you can snap a fence in the door gate so it becomes a window (it even snaps, so it doesn’t look weird). Fallout 4 doesn’t give you walls with windows in the base game so when I found out this trick I was excited. Hope you might be able to use it.
Thanks for sharing 👍😊.
I like that idea. I’m going to use it.
Fiddles coming back in to bring light to the wasteland AGAIN 💥🔥
Welcome back! Again, i hope you had a very nice break
Thanks! 👍😁
Working on a Mechanist Lair build currently, the cramped space is somewhat challenging but I am enjoying it! Looking forward to seeing you take a crack at it in the future Fiddle!
I am impressed you are enjoying the cramped confines of the Mechanist Lair! I feel it’s a very challenging location to build at and one that I have failed at multiple times to crack, hope your build there goes well! 👍😁
Wait 😭🤚🏻 I'm still not over the Nordhagen build!
I like how you tend to fix the existing buildings. It feels realistic, looks scrappy and makes the settlement look unique. Otherwise every settlement ends up looking the same.
I'm super excited to see what's next! I'll keep watching the Nordhagen series though! 🤪
lol, thanks! I do enjoy trying to fix up ruined structures in settlements, always fun thinking of the ways settlers would patch them up and reuse them 👍😁.
I dread the day you run out of settlements, these videos are so fun and relaxing to watch I never want them to stop!
How many more does he have left?? AFAIK the plan is to do them all then start using mods. At least that's what he said a few years ago
Really pleased to hear you enjoy the vids, thanks! I do have plans for when I eventually run out of settlements (although at the rate I build that wont be for a while 😉). A couple of my earlier builds do not have build series and so would like to remake them, plus I feel I have improved since making them and could probably do a better job of them now.
As @Thebluebridgetroll mentioned there is also the option of building with mods or modded locations, have also been saving Sim Settlements for when normal settlement building loses it charm as that mod looks awesome.
@@Thebluebridgetroll Including this one 10 to go! After that the plan is for a couple of rebuilds and modded builds 👍/
Holy crap, it feels like you released the Nordhagen settlement tour just a few weeks ago, and you’re already back making these masterpieces? Damn impressive, not to mention satisfying. You have a true talent at making these look not only lore friendly, but lived in and natural, which is the main reason I’m using your blueprints for my own vanilla+ play through. Damn impressive, once again, my hat’s off to you Fiddle.
I had intended on taking a longer break after Nordhagen ended up being far bigger than I expected, was just playing around with what I could do with the ruined house and before I knew it the rest of the settlement had sort of grown around it 😅😆
Great to hear you have been enjoying the using the blueprints, thanks! 🙏
Guess who's back? Yep, it's the top Fallout 4 Builder. Welcome back sir.
Thanks! 😳😁🙏
My PlayStation brain is breaking. I use the Place Anywhere Tool, but whatever you were doing has that beat by a country mile.
lol, Place Everywhere is indeed a wonderful tool, lets me focus on building what I want without having to fight and work around the games limitations and restrictions 👍😁.
Can't wait until there's a full collection. I just don't have the patience or imagination to build these settlements.
The rest of the building vids are progressing well so hopefully should not be too long before the next part 👍😊.
Really like how you integrated that ruined house in a belivable way. Really excited for your upcoming videos.
Great to hear you liked it and are looking forward to seeing how the build progresses, more vids will be on the way soon 😊👍.
Looks good my friend, can't wait to see the full build. Greetings from Brazil !
Great to hear you liked it, many thanks! 🙏😁
I've made a habit of not playing with mods, but if I ever decided to use mods for my builds, it will be place anywhere. You made the repair of this house look SO EASY!
Thanks! Place Everywhere is a fantastic tool and is what let me truly enjoy building in this game. I always felt frustrated by the games restrictions and limitations, and while I get that some enjoy the challenge of working around them it’s just one I never found fun.
Just be aware that if you do start using a placement mod then it might be hard to go back to the struggles of vanilla building 😉🤣.
Oh wow! I shall be watching this one with keen interest. I have had a couple of very half-hearted attempts at County Crossing. But usually don't manage any more than a very basic structure with a bed for a place to rest up when I am in the area. I have never really managed to figure out what to do with the location.
This has always been a settlement I have skipped over in all my other playthroughs, just does not seem to provide that much inspiration compared to other more interesting locations the game has to offer 😉. The plan is to keep things fairly low key and simple here (and I wanted something smaller after Nordhagen got a bit out of hand 😅), and want it to have a kind of sleepy little farming village feel with a small market to attract people either coming to or from downtown.
Pleased with how the rough build went, and hopefully you’ll enjoy the seeing finished settlement 🤞.
This may be my new favorite channel 😊
Welcome and great to hear you are liking the channel! Thanks! 👍😁
Never thought about repairing the house like that 😊
Thanks! I always enjoy settlements which have existing ruined structures, so much fun trying to work out the best way to patch them up and try and make them liveable again 😁.
Hey welcome back! 🎇
Thanks! 😁👍
FUCKIN KILLED IT, KEEP UP THE INSPIRATION TO US FALLOUT 4 WORKSHOP FANS WHO SUCK A BUILDING!!!!!!!!!!!!
Many thanks! 🙏😁
So good and well done you make it look easy haha ! Great cant wait to see whats next !
Great to hear you liked it and are looking forward to seeing more, many thanks! 🙏😊
Man I love these
Glad you enjoy them, thanks!
Welcome back!
Thanks! 👍😁
Never has the threat of splinters and tetanus looked so beautiful
lol, thanks! 😆👍
How you don't have more subs is beyond me
Welcome to the channel and thanks for the sub 🎉😁👍
Love the vids 😊
Great to hear you enjoy them, many thanks! 🙏😁
Awesome yo
Thanks! 👍
Thank you! I guess my source of inspiration would be the games world, as I try to make builds blend and fit within it. I have spent a lot a time exploring looking at how the devs built their structures and used pieces, and then try to see if I could use or replicate that in my own builds.
When I build its mostly just trial and error. Apart from what a structures purpose will be (a bar, store or home) I typically have no idea what it’s going to look like until I start building. I just start throwing pieces together and see what works.
Sometimes this works out great, but more often than not I build and tear structures down multiple times until I get something I am happy with 😅😆
What mod are you using to snap below ground, floors, etc?? Been using the Place Anywhere mod on xbox but still doesn’t allow me to snap pieces as easily as you’re getting!
I use Place Everywhere on PC.
Is the "place anywhere" mod what's allowing you to get the floor under the workshop or will that method work in vanilla?
It's a feature of the Place *Everywhere* mod
@@FiddleflapsVids I'm sort of relieved. I was driving myself nuts with that spot until I gave up and now I know it wasn't just me, LOL!
Not bad for a beginner 🤭
lol, I think I am starting to get the hang of this… still can’t quite work out how to place lights straight though 😉😆.
@@FiddleflapsVids 🤣🤣
What is the name of mods you using ?
The only mod used for the build is Place Everywhere, there is a full list of all the mods I am using in this playthrough linked in the description.
No voice over is too weird good video but can’t watch
Can understand some prefer commentary, but thanks for giving the vid a try 👍
