“Losing The Arm Wrestling Match” ... Absolutely Brilliant ... That coupled with your “Flying Wedge” video have helped my golf game in terms of consistent ball striking like no other UA-cam Golf guru...Thanks man 🍻
Thanks. Your instructions have significantly improved my performance and enjoyment of the game of golf. I was looking for this precise instruction regarding the position of the right arm during the forward swing to have the hands arrive off the right thigh as I enter the impact zone-club parallel to the ground to improve impact. Too frequently, my hands have been 3-4 inches behind my right thigh instead of even with it.
O.k. 7th 2022 Date.... Not only did your teaching and brilliant instruction give me the blue print of who i am, it also put a " tag " or tags for the building and breaking down of the Ferrari...which is the golf swing .... as they say in Vegas I'm all in tks....
I found this video to be very valuable. I have always positioned my right elbow to the side of my chest. After watching this video I moved my elbow to the front of my chest and kept it there throughout the swing. I was able to hit the ball longer and straighter. Sometimes, in an attempt to gain more distance, the back of my left hand would get bent forward resulting in pulls and hooks. But when I was able to keep the back of the left hand straight with the left arm I had very good results. I plan to continue to work on Rob's tips on the trail arm. Jim Ward, Tampa, Fl
Great stuff. I don't find your content complicated. You explain everything clearly. In this case, presumably keeping the trail arm close to the rib cage will help with hitting the ball out of the middle of the club face as well. Something I struggle with tbh.
I love the analysis of how the body works in the golf swing and the never ending search for the magic bullet that slays the mishits while keeping the speed we all want. The miracle is the incredible difference in the result of what looks like the same thing from a top pro and a 10 handicapper. The top pros look like ordinary people but I think they are really aliens from another planet.
This drill has blown my fucking mind. I've been keeping my elbow so far back and not letting it create power by being in front of my body. My god. You're the man rob
Superb superb superb. Eric Cogorno first mentioned you Rob with a video on wrists which was equally as good. This ones perfect for my issue and just love the constant two camera view to explain. Assume this applies to conventional swings as well as stack and tilt? Please confirm and again brilliantly done. Thanks 🙏🏻 🏌️♂️🏴
Rob, congrats on the best, most detailed, yet comprehensible golf instructions out there. I'm a fan of understanding the concepts and then practicing them to learn the proper technique of the swing.
rob, i tend to pull the right elbow behind me and i never knew it till someone pointed it out to me and it gets me kinda stuck and i hit all sorts of shots. this is gonna help, thnx.
Thanks for this great explanation of how the right arm works. It looks like if you get his right it would also help with your downswing rotation. It looks like this forces you to rotate properly?
Thx for your videos, most appreciated. In SnT why do u recommend that the club moves inside on back swing? Bcoz all regular coaches say that is the biggest culprit to make one swing back over the top.
Rob, you have the ability to break the complex down into simple terms that the student can grasp. The drills that you provide are excellent. I’m glad you’re there! Excellent video.
Been playing my best golf lately. Striking my irons pure but still could not figure out why I had to swing so hard to get distance or having to manipulate ball compression. The losing the arm wrestling thought at the top was the missing ingredient. It creates a much more natural and powerful ball striking dynamic with less effort as well. Hoping it helps reduce my back problems as well!
Rob, I find your instruction to be some of the clearest and most helpful I have seen. The one arm drill is fantastic. It is really helping me feel where my trail elbow should be during the down swing. Thanks.
Thanks for explanation on the trail elbow. To me, it is the hardest move of the stack and tilt method, and your comparison of the losing an arm wrestling match with the elbow. With this imagery, I understand that I actually have to work to get the position right. If I let it float (relax), it goes behind my body - a move I have been making for 50+ years!
I'm glad that you include the needed detail. I have heard the term "connected" many times but nobody every really said what it meant. Makes great sense with you explanation. I also really like the drills. Thanks.
Rob... ran across your page about 2 weeks ago. WHER'VE YOU BEEN THE LAST 23 YEARS??!!! started implementing your clear & concise instructions into my game... can't tell you how good it's been! how i posted a 7 handi for 10years without you, i've no idea; but now.. with all this armament... scratch may actually be attainable! thanks bruv 💪🏾
Rob, I'm a self confessed slow learner, and it's taken me months and months to unlearn years of doing things incorrectly. I'm still very much work in progress, but I wanted to let you know your videos are fir the first time giving me hope. For perhaps the first time I feel comfortable standing on the tee, feeling like I have some idea of what I should be doing, and if it goes wrong, then why. I particularly enjoyed working on this drill after getting on top of staying centred and even adding the loose belt around the waste and tail arm, to learn the function of eliminating my tendency to let the arm move away from my right side. These days, playing is filled with hope and some degree certainty that brings much joy. So thank you for your clear and precise information.
Hi Rob, loving the instructions. A question, sliding the hip in combination to this dril to find the right impact position before getting to the rotation, can this work?
Hi Rob from So. California, I just found you recently and I must say you are by far the best teacher of golf on UA-cam. I understand your videos what you are saying and look forward to applying them to my swing. I hope to be a volunteer teacher of junior golf in retirement and learning your way of communicating will help me out greatly. Thank-you very much for your time and effort, Kevin
Phenomenal video. Thank you for the detail. I realized that with my prior conventional golf swing, the right elbow comes off the side quite significantly and I have a hard time returning to in front of my right hip on the downswing. With your teaching and S&T, it stays against my torso and I don’t have to time getting my right elbow back in front of me. This improves my probability of maintaining the flying wedge. You’re exactly right about the lack of right side tilt in the downswing. This leads to the casting/right arm extending off the body just to make contact with the ball. You’re an exceptional instructor.
Rob, I watched this video recently and it produced a real 'light bulb' moment. Concentrating more on my trail arm has had positive impact on my swing. Many thanks Steve
Rob I needed you as my golf instructor years ago. Your instruction is very simplified and your tips have provided me with excellent results out on the course thereby making the game a hell of a lot more enjoyable by far.
Hardly ever seen this trail arm teaching before. I really like the feeling of club control that it gives in the swing as I instinctively disliked moving the trail arm away from the body, which I thought was the correct method. Thanks for all the detail you include in your videos.
Absolutely brilliant job Rob of explaining a critical swing key….mastering this lesson is undoubtedly the cornerstone to building a compact and repeatable swing….thanks much!!!!
Superb instruction. The clarity and content in it is extremely helpful. I was drawn to your videos on a search for foot flare and trail wrist bend. That led to binge watching others and going outside and doing the drills. Being less flexible and admittedly experimenting too much, the structure you recommend will help me. Might even try stack and tilt next. Thanks.
One of your best. Your attention to the “tough” details is outstanding and extremely helpful. This is your gift. Very professorial. You answered questions I didn’t know I had. Thank you
Outstanding video Rob and the best explanation of how the trail arm functions in the swing. I spent a few days with Andy and Mike in Palm Springs years ago and I love the system. I am just starting to take a deep dive into your work and it is helping me every day with students of my own. Todd Brenkman, PGA Utah
It's funny how I started off not liking your videos and I said some very abusive things but now I watch all of your videos because I've learned a little bit of patience finally. Thank you sir
This is such a key fundamental and the way its explained is asolutely Brilliant , gets etched and serves as a reminder each time one swings ,, thanks a lot Rob .
Hey Rob, Great video. In your opinion should the right elbow/arm ever lift up and off the torso in the backswing? It would require that it come back down in plane during the downswing but wouldn't it allow for more depth in the backswing?
I have been seriously working on my swing for 2 years and no one ever shared this information or process. Thank you so much. I am going to give this a try.
HiRob this is brilliant for me as I cannot seem to conquer this more and to hear you describe as difficult is a help in it’s self. I’ve stopped lifting my trail elbow but finding it difficult to bring down close to the body. Your very detailed explanation with help considerably. I turned to S&T a couple of months ago and now want to develop after the initial surge.
Love it. Another great VDO. Funny enough I always wonder about my right elbow. This VDO addresses my curiosity. Moreover it gives me check point and drill. Thank you Rob.
Thanks, Rob. I’d like to share a fix that I discovered by accident. This is not a joke: I have struggled with maintaining wrist bend for some time. After watching this video, using a coupIe larger elastic bands across the palm of my right hand connected my right (trail) bent wrist to the back of my right bicep. Then is just took a few slow and easy swings only using my right hand to try to better sense what it felt like to actually keep the wrist bend. To my total surprise, what I actually felt was that I was keeping my right elbow pointing down. Rather than making this long post even longer, let me just say that rather than think about bending my wrist I now ONLY think about keeping my right elbow pointing down, which keeps my wrist bent automatically! And my strikes are amazingly better! Any thoughts on this?
this is a fantastic lesson. its not something us amateurs even think about. i thank you for always pointing out the "outside the box" thinking towards teaching a good swing. i try to pass on your great tips to my friends. this tip might be one of your best. thank you as always
As always, great content. Thank you for drilling down into the details! Your explanations provides clarity that's of upmost importance in my quest to retool my swing to S&T. Will definitely include the one arm drill in my practice sessions. Thanks for sharing and your time. :)
@@golftecasia WOW & DOUBLE WOW !!! For my money, this is the best tip / drill EVER. Spent about an hour plus working on the drills and the last 20 or so minutes hitting "Almostgolf" golf balls. Thanks again for sharing your knowledge.
I started using your one arm drill every 2-3 holes on the tee box before I hit my driver. Had my best round of golf driving the ball all year last week. Thank you.
