Wondering How João Chianca Would Fare At Teahupo’o?

The saga of João Chianca has to be regarded as one of this year’s biggest storylines.
A young, promising rookie qualifies for the CT, deals with a less-than-fair seeding system, puts on some of the season’s best heats in a range of conditions, and quickly vanishes from tour thanks to the mid-year boot.
Chumbinho’s misfortune left many of us wishing we could have seen him surf a CT venue where he was sure to shine - Tahiti. Today, our wish is granted. João snuck off to Tahiti in May, shortly after the Manly CS event, and he’s got an edit called ‘Immersion’ to prove it.

He loves heavy and scary waves , while the entire line up paddles out he goes for it . After being pounded by tons of water he has on a big smile . Is in the blood family , they all to surf heavy waves . His brother is literally insane .

The tour is in no way fair, nor does even make sense very often. I'm constantly shaking my head at heat results, and I'm always wondering what behind the scenes led to that overscore/underscore. I just hope the surfers I like keep putting out clips like clips like this so I don't have to suffer through heats just to watch them surf.
