+doublejbbq Indeed Jerry, great for dinner too! If I ate it for lunch though, I wouldn't be worth a damn the rest of the day!!! LOL Thanks for watching!
Larry, I never thought hash browns could look this tasty! I never eat breakfast, but now I'm envious of those who enjoy dishes like this! Is it common to put sausage gravy over hash browns? This combination is drool inducing!
+Juanelo1946 John, I don't think it's common to put sausage gravy over hash browns, but it's good! I was originally thinking about doing a breakfast poutine and 'Birdie' my wife and I were brainstorming and she actually came up with this idea. The fried eggs really pulled everything together. We will definitely be having it again and again!!! Maybe you could do a jicama hashbrown version of this? Thank you for watching!!
I know that in central Minnesota a few places put sausage gravy over hashbrowns and call it a haystack. There's one place off I-35 about an hour north of the Twin Cities that assembles it with a sausage patty underneath hashbrowns with sausage gravy, shredded cheese, two eggs on top and toast on the side. Haystacks have cured several hangovers of my own over the years.
Big glass of ice clamato juice ice cold beer salt and pepper juice of lime, lime wedge and drink while cooking this killer breakfast! Then comes a nap!!
Cure a hangover. Man oh man, that'll cause a hangover ... my belt! Ooof! That will be a breakfast, brunch, lunch, and tea time for sure! We needed these on our 20 mile Marine boot camp hike. We wouldn't need to stop for a rest! An excellent outback base camp cook up. Then start the days wilderness bushcraft and preppie courses, hopefully nobody nods off for 6 hours! 10* Larry.
Never cooked s + g...just ate it other places, but I love it and will make it...seems like quality meat is key. Also, what a rockin dinner as well..quick, fresh, and simple prep too. How come comments are 2 yrs old? Thanks!
Great recipe Larry, folks if you want to speed this up, put a paper towel in a bowl and add your diced raw potatoes, nuke for appx. 2 1/2 minutes, softens them from inside and takes out moisture, put em' in skillet will cook quicker, brown better
Hello Sir! This is a very wonderful recipe! I'm studying this in order to cook it for me and my sister! I know that once I get it down ''pat', and put it together, I know that this will turn out out well, thanks to your wonderful video!
I do the exact same way except I cook the peppers and onions first once its cook I put it to the side. Then I cook the potatoes when its finish then I incorporate the peppers and onions. I add my seasonings and serve the sausage and gravy. Side note I cook the sausage and gravy, the same way except I add garlic powder, adobo, salt, and pepper, voila breakfast is served.
DONE!!!! I'm making this for my husband.............then I will ask for a new toaster oven............and get it, LOL! Joking, anyway, I will make this for Hubby, he would LOVE this!! Thanks Larry :-)
One of our eateries in Ft. Collins has a great dish for brunch called the Hangover Bowl. It is a bowl of potatoes topped with three eggs any style covered in green chili and melted cheese. Comes with a flour tortilla. Pappy's Corner Pub. We go there often after morning hikes. Add a bloody mary and you're ready for a nap.
god this looks so good. I'm the only person I know that likes overeasy eggs & the yolk is just delectable on potatoes w/hot sauce & ketchup.I'd need a nap soon after this hearty breakfast.
+snookie65 Dee I'm glad I don't eat in person in my videos. Birdie (my wife) said I looked like an animal eating this!!! I could not get enough or eat it fast enough!! LOL Thank you for watching!
A local restaurant, The Shack, offers a similar breakfast dish called "The Kitchen Sink". The first layer is griddled hash-browns with onions; the second layer is scrambled eggs with ham; the third layer is biscuits; the fourth layer is sausage gravy; and the fifth layer is a choice of bacon, sausage, or ham. It's GREAT... although you can feel the heart attack coming...
Why does this cure a hangover? I don't know because I've never had one. So I'm curious why it would. The breakfast it's self looks delicious! I love taters and eggs with runny yolks and cheese together with a biscuit! YUMMY! Great video Wolfe! TFS :))
+Kulinary Kreations By Kelly Actually Kelly getting rehydrated is really the only cure for a hangover. But they say to eat greasy foods to make you feel better while your hungover. Seems to work for me!! LOL
+Thaneii He'd get drunk again before it was done........Scrambled eggs will work! BUT you then miss the wonderful yolk juices flowing all over!! LOL Thanks for watching Phil!
darn this looks good Larry..so my next bbq you and yours can stay over so you can get up early and make this while we all get an extra 10 minutes sleep..better than a snooze alarm!!lol..looks great pal!
I would put the biscuit (or 2) under the whole thing. We have a diner in Oklahoma that has what they call biscuit debris and Jimmy's garbage that is almost identical to this. Thanks for sharing. Now I ca n make my own and tweak it where I want. :)
Looks delicious. I don't, and cannot, drink alcohol (severe life threatening allergy discovered when I was 20), so I'd enjoy it without the deleterious effects of a hangover....something I've never experienced in my nearly 70 years, nor will I, for obvious reasons.
Breakfast is the best meal of the day.
+Harbir Brar I agree Harbir! Thank you for watching!

* drink one quart of gator aid while cooking.
+Troy Strain Yep, you're right Troy! The only real thing that will cure a hangover is to get rehydrated!!
Big glass of ice clamato juice ice cold beer salt and pepper juice of lime, lime wedge and drink while cooking this killer breakfast! Then comes a nap!!
Smoke crack then listen to mega death throwing your neighbors stuff of their roof....

You don't need a hangover to take down that killer concoction Larry! But if you were hungover, I'm sure it would cure what ails you:)
I can think of a certain Crazy Cajun who would love this. Great job, Larry. Although I'll take my eggs scrambled instead.

Damn! that looks tasty!
*Hangover breakfast?* you forgot the 16 ounce glass of vodka that goes with that.
You can really cut the cooking time of the potatoes as well as not having to turn them over 4 times, if you par boil them first.
