Why does the "new" R8 look like an uglier "old" R8?

You should word your statement a little different. Like the new R8 doesn't look as good as the older car, because brother neither one of them is "ugly"

@@skywalk3x The old R8 has a timeless beauty to it, it was an instant classic when it hit the scene. That new R8 doesn't have a fraction of that impact. So relatively speaking, it's ugly. Even if it's generally an ok looking car. But this isn't a general comparison, the new R8 is supposed to be an evolved design, but it feels like a step backward.

Erskin Hansen well look at Porsche they’ve had a design from 50 years ago and if you look at it, you know it’s a Porsche. Audi’s R8 was a success and surprised them by how well it was received. Now since it shares its platform with the Huracán it will be a smoothing if a design to not make it too different from the original. New side blade, grill, front and bread and you know it’s an R8. I have an 08 R8 and till I saw the 2018 in person I thought it was not as good. The car is great in pictures but amazing in person, trust me. But to each his own brother, maybe when the drop the next one it’ll wow both of us!
