Thanks! This video was shot in the spring right after the season opened. During this time of year pike set up in shallow bays right outside the creeks and small rivers where they just finished spawning. This particular bay is about 3-4 feet deep and the fish were scattered all over it so you just have to cover water until you find one ready to eat!
In the summer your best bet would probably be launching out of keswick and fishing Cooks Bay. Theres lot of good weedbeds down there in the 10-20 foot range where the pike will hang out when the water gets warm!
Awesome video with some sweet pike! It looks like you guys are a fair ways from shore? How deep would you guys be fishing and you obviously not casting too shore. Can you throw out some hints on what kind of structure and bays too look for to nail some big like like you fellas did.
I need a boat :( lol. I live in Toronto and have been fishing since I was 5. I'm 15 now and love the sport. All I need to get now is a boat, nothing big even no motor would be fine just anything to get me out on the water. Do you know anywhere to get a cheap aluminum boat???
nice fish boys, been a resident of this lake for 20 years, hope to see you guys out here soon, keep fishin!

A back bay on the north end of the lake. Any shallow bay with access to a river or creek should hold some pike right after the season opens!

For Pike we normally use 40 or 50 pound Power Pro with a fluoro leader or straight 12-14 pound fluoro
I will be kayak fishing a north simcoe bay for this years opener, let me guess, perch colored huskies and white or pink swim baits?
No, sorry haha but there's at least 4 or 5 bays at the north end of Lake Simcoe that hold pike early in the season!

Nice Pike action! I want to target them on fly fishing gear this year. I am looking for boat rentals in the area. Would you indicate me any?
