I agree with you, my husband and I love dry heat , beautiful mountains views everywhere, cactus desert trees and plans are beautiful and designated freeway walls are beautiful not boring like many states.

    (1) It's hot. Like really, really hot. You will learn about something I called "Hot Wheel". That's when you go somewhere in your car, go into the store etc for friggin' 15 minutes and come back out and the steering wheel is blazing hot. I was seriously considering getting driving gloves or putting light colored bicycle handlebar tape on the steering wheel.
    (2) The crime rate is higher than you're used to if you're moving out from the coast. There's just an extra layer of crazy and criminality.
    (3) Road Gators! Those are huge strips of rubber that come off of car tires on the freeway, due to the extreme heat. You'll get good at dodging them.
    (4) Da Rez. It's just East of Scottsdale and it's a bit tragic. On the day they get their checks, the Apache etc go shopping. You'll be in the meat department and sense someone huge looming over you. Over 6 feet tall and imposing as hell. Yep, that's just an Apache mom doing a bit of shopping.
    (5) Quartzsite. Yes I spelled that right, and if you like rock and gem shows and RV campouts, you'll love "the Q".

Good list! I agree with number 1 but I try to crack my windows to allow air flow to help out. I also always use a sun shade which is very important out here! When it comes to crime rate, I guess it is all a matter of perspective. Thankfully, I haven't had to deal with many issues in my 30 years so I usually don't complain about it. I like the "Road Gator" term! But again, I haven't had to deal with one of those in probably 20 years so it didn't come to mind for me.

What I really like about Phoenix is the quality of drugs and availability. Fentys everywhere. You can get just about anything you want at anytime to party.

I'm too old to party anymore so I am out of the loop when it comes to this info! But I guess I appreciate the heads up as a parent now

I am very enjoy your videos. Do you have “ Things you need to know when you buy house in AZ.” Not new home?

I haven't made a specific video on that yet but maybe I should consider! I'd be happy to have a quick call with you just to walk you through it if it helps. Lots of factors to consider depending on what you are looking for.

The traffic culture is horrible in Phoenix. I live in LA so I know traffic but unlike LA where the drivers seem to work with each other to get down the road in Phoenix its the opposite. It is like everyone’s job is to keep you from getting to where you want to go. I hated it.

Yeah, it definitely feels like everyone is out for themselves a majority of the time here. But at least the traffic actually moves and it is rarely stop and go like you deal with all the time in SoCal
