In case no one added this I would like to tell EVERYONE that you should always try to blow out the area of the spark plugs with air if possible before removing them. Debris will accumulate in those areas and may fall into the combustion chamber when you remove the plugs.
Thank you, I think you just proved my point that I was trying to make to my roommate...Our Mechanics were saying they had to remove the engine to get to the spark plugs in behind the engine.
I realize this may seem, like a dumb question, but can you use the same spark plugs for every car or do they come in different sizes for different size motors?? Apologies for my ignorance. I'm trying :D
hi kabayan i have ah 2002 ford taurus SES DOHC 24v 3.0L its possible all spark plug we need to replace tska my nainka counter kanaba sa rph n minsan ay hnd ng steady ng posissition pagnagbubukas ako ng heater nagkakaron siya ng vibration every 2 second or minsan 1 min salamat
me vibration lang pag naka-on ang heater? Otherwise, walang vibration? Check mo mga vacuum hoses, lalo na yung pcv elbow, baka me vacuum leak. yung vibration,ba, tumataas ang menor mo parang idle surge? vacuum leak pag ganyan.
+Fred Marlin Use an extension with a universal joint adaptor. This is what I did when I replaced the spark plug on my ford contour. Check my other video on replacing a spark plug on ford contour.
one other question please - when I pulled out my APP 104 plug the center electrode was dome shaped. As well as my gap being off, I'm used to seeing that flat, is this normal for the plug?

Wouldn’t that cause debris to go down into the chamber?
@@derekhenderson10 BEFORE you remove them. Then once they are out crank the engine for a few seconds to blow out any further debris.
you can use a 5/8 inch-12 inch hose to remove the plug after it's loose and to insert it back in the thread
Good video. Saved me from having to go through the learning curve of finding the spark plugs and how to get each one out.
Thanks for posting! Sometimes it's hard to see what you're doing, but the video is still very helpful.
Thank you for your feedback. We'll keep that in mind when we make our next videos.

Love you're video on showing us shade tree mechanics on removing the back spark plugs
You single-handledly made America Great Again with this video!! Thank you so much!!!!
hey u did fine job, lol most pull all of the top of engine off to do what u did, and great camera helper
great video, helped out a lot.
Great tip!

They take different ones. The people at your local auto parts ship can tell you which ones and help with the gap.
Ford should have built a hood and engine compartment 1 foot LONGER !!!!!!
A lot of thanks it really helpful idea to the first timer ..
Used to have to do them every 12000 miles back in the day.
Nice Job, really helpful!!!
Thanks bro.
Put some Vaseline in the socket instead of pulling out the hose they will release the new plugs without breaking the insulators on them
Is a flex head ratchet needed for the rear plugs??
Or can I just use a normal one?
+miggidymark Regular ratchet would work if you have the right extension.
Cool thanks
My spark plugs are 3 on top 3 on bottom this is not look like mine what is the difference please explain
So I have three on top 3 on bottom that still may not have something in the back
It dont help me on the one that won’t come out. Im afraid it’s gonna break off
what about removing the manifold
why? You then need to replace gaskets, and it takes even longer.
What is the spark plug gap on 06 taurus 3.0?
+Justin P. 42 to 46
+dave albert thanks! Couldn't find the gap under the good
Nice video, but you can't do this on the duratec. The coils (1-3) are under the manifold

ah gnon b cge check ko bka maliit ng leak meron cguro yun kahit nga naka nutral eh minsan may vibration pero check ko salamat ng marami
ok n po kabayan spark plug wire po ang problema salamat po ulit
Front wheel drive v6 stupid idea.
Why do they make it so hard to replace plugs you should be able to reach them all easy not like it use to be
It's so the shop can make money..if you could do everything yourself no shops would be needed and they know this...stuff have changed since the 80s
Because Ford didn't care if it's hard to change them. It made their design job easier.
too tight for me and not enough room to get leverage on the 3rd one.
+Fred Marlin Use an extension with a universal joint adaptor. This is what I did when I replaced the spark plug on my ford contour. Check my other video on replacing a spark plug on ford contour.
Had some extensions. had to configure them but got the dang thing replaced.
very bad car
Would be more helpful without a lamp taking up 40% of the view.
1/4 inch Ratchet with adapter makes it easier
what is the spark plug number that you are used?
autolite XP104
Edward Chua I have Autolite APP104 in mine and are worn out. looking for a replacement. just bought a set of NGK platinum's Thanks.

your plugs are probably worn out.
Can't see wished he named the tools he used
Spark plug socket, an 3 or 4 inch extension, and a ratchet.
nepali ho?
Can not see the work!, =very dark
I hate ford
Are cars aren't gonna be perfect to work on. This isn't even bad
@@justinp8946 Bad is bad. don't excuse it by pretending it's right
What a piece of shit car. ford could care less how hard it is
This is Usless I asked for a 2004! .. Mine look Nothing like this! Thanks for Nothing!
there are two motors
