Hope you guys enjoy this walkthrough-tutorial type video! Been a minute since I last uploaded as I have been busy (as the saying always goes hahah). Free 30-day trial on epidemic sound using my referral link in the description box, it's just a way to support the channel! Lemme know what type of videos you guys would like to see next
I've noticed your meters going into overload/clipping territory. It might be a good idea to add a limiter to the stereo output. You could also experiment with multiband compressors and dynamic equalizers to raise overall sound levels without going into overload.
I wish I could like this video more than once. I started watching this video like every other video about sound design on UA-cam and just a minute in I realised that the information was too valuable not to jot down. Thank you for sharing this gem.
I've actually never tried making the EDIT first then implementing SOUND second. I've always lived with finding the song first and going from there and it's worked fine, but i will try it this way to shake things up and see how it affects my creative process. Fantastic work as always!
Thank you! I found it to be a great way to get me thinking more creative critically (haha if that made sense), especially on how you can utilize sfx to connect or break apart the music within the edit
Came back to this video to say that I tried the " Do the cut first" route and it was a game changer. Not only did it force me to think differently, but I didn't feel constricted by having to edit to the music. I know that editing to the music has its place, but your method of edit first/audio second was the shake up I needed to get out of my creative rut. Appreciate what you do man!
That's super awesome to hear that it worked for you! Ya there's definitely a type of project particular for choosing the music first - when you do have the option to choose it later, it opens a lot more flexibility as you are then just looking for the mood to add in after everything, and can just extend or shorten clips accordingly. Super cool that this has helped you out! 🙌🏼
Hey Hi. I love your editing processs. Its awesome. And most important thing is sound designing, thats not easy and you did a great job with that. Keep going. All the best
Tu trabajo es excelente, felicitaciones. me gustaría saber cuanto te demoraste haciendo solo el diseño de sonido para este proyecto ? Gracias por tu respuesta.
As i see after all the laters of sound, the sounds are touching the red meter & thats a recipe of distorting sound. Do you do anything like sound normalisation or anything or you just keep it like that
Yes, I didn't mention or explain this but that's something to do to prevent your audio from peaking and possibly distorting - essentially you want to put a limiter on it
