Actually when these films were shown in the mid 1940s the characters names were changed to 'Dick and Larry' to avoid confusion with the cat and rodent.
I play the piano and percussion. In the marching band pit, there is a keyboard similar to a piano because that is what is part of PIT for the marching band
this looks very much like something max Fleischer would have done.. I love these old cartoons.. so much better than say happy tree friends or some other garbage crap like that of that nature..
thanks for showing these cartoons regular cable that is cartoon network wont show these they dont show any more classic cartoons cause they dont wan to be a vender fo classic cartoon fans plus thes old carttons are pg 13 and they feel parents have no time to sit with 7 year old tyo watch this
At that time, just like in the sexties/ seventies music was made for people who were high or on drugs (coke for instance),just like i am right now. enjoy!
It was thought that Psycho was the first time you ever had a working toilet shown in film, You can see that's really not the case with this short at 02:34, Even though you don't see the whole toilet only part of it.
Quite a few I think, Not as many as there are Fleischer cartoons I think the T&Js ran till the mid thirties maybe?, I'm no expert, Van Beuren the studio did cartoons for quite awhile beyond the T&Js till the late thirties I think, They started in the silent era, The first T&J cartoon came out in 1929 The cat and rodent took over those names after Van Beuren's time had passed.
I actually have this DVD, plus a ton other cartoons from the same time decade. Best $10 I spent by far
Outa site Man! My Mom & Dad were just kids watching this cartoon. I miss watching these early cartoons from when I was a wee one.
I believe that they are much more talented than today's artists! You do have a point, this was ALL drawn by hand!
This is a classic... Wonderful... This is what cinema nowadays is all about...
WAIT!!! WASN"T IT A CAT AND MOUSE!?!?!?! :O
God! This is so hilarous! The best part is when the ambulance rescues the mouse lol.
No! Killing the note against the wall and flushing it down, that broke my heart.

What a real cartoon should be! Not scary! This is "no-rules" pre-censored cartoons shown only in theaters before the feature. Awesome!

this is sooooooooo cute!! i thought it was an older version of tom and jerry, but it's different. well, i like it anyway wiiiiiii sooooooooo cute hehe
This film is amazing, considering that it was all hand drawn, there is so much detail. The surealism is briliant!
Is it just me or at 1:15 is this a cameo of Mickey Mouse? Or was that just a common way of drawing mice in the 1930's cartoons?
OH MY GOD FALLOUT MUSIC
I've seen this cartoon in the "Why Wasn't I Invited?" episode of Pee-Wee's Playhouse.
Wait where is Felix/Casper/Tom?
There was just like 80 Jerrys.

Yeah, that's what I expected.

These old fashioned cartoons are better than the new cartoons. Although this video has no color it isn't so bad at all!
1932 was another country, folks. They did things differently there/then...

I like this version, but what is the name of the song at 1:10?
3:44-4:00 the audience is doing the thriller dance
The onlt thing that sucked was that I was expecting one cat and one mouse to show up... But that's cool...A classic anyway...
