I dont know how but that Budget Bike Battle theme is so nostalgic........ means we're all getting old and you've been doing this longer than i think at this point 😂
Here in the USA we have mismatched, 3x crashed, stretched bikes with tires on wires and blown forks asking for $5,000. Extremely jealous of how well kept machines in Europe are compared to these trailer park junkers around here.
To be fair, your vtr1000sp2s are half the prices of ours, so swings and roundabouts. I've also been looking at the prices of classic enduro bikes, again, the states is half what we are paying.
@mandrakejake they're fairly good, I will give it that. On track it makes sense, on the road, for me, it's bloody awful, but I guess that's the whole point.
Loving the content, lads! Thank you both for being my inspiration to finally getting my full licence and joining the 2-wheeled family, can't wait to get out on the road on Wednesday 🥳
My big wish is to see 2 stroke budget bike battle that would be awesome everyone would love to see that challenge cheers guys love the show 🍻@@FortyFourTeeth
2002 liquid silver R1 was my first big boy bike. Amazing street bike..she needs a dampner though. Mine made 151 to the tire on 93. Full akra , Boxr ran air box, Graves stacks and slide stops, filter and its a chefs kiss. If you cut the airbox in half right in front of the filter she picks up a few ponies . Also a TFI makes a bit more power than a PC3/5.. you can also tune her through the cluster .
Rsv mille is one of the best bike ever... I have one (bought new in 2002) with akrapovic full exhaust...midrange are great... Handling is fantastic with oz forged..
Honestly, I don't understand why the average Joe is out riding a $12k new bike and making payments on that plus insurance when there are $2k bikes ($3k by the time you've gone through them) that are this good. Just grab a cheap bike and hit the road in style.
i agree unfortunately we cant enjoy nice expensive bikes without being stolen. but yeah 2k bike you'll have as much fun as 15k bike. plus you wont be playing absurd amounts for insurance
I put lever guard on my clutch 🤣🤣🤣 They stop me scratching pretty bar ends in my alley way is my excuse but if I'm honest its an OCD thing. Just can't look odd, has to match.
I really missed the build up and shop episodes with James in the last couple BBBs. This was great, I'm going to watch again everyday until a new episode comes out.
I had the RN09 for 9 seasons. I did over 60 000 km on it. The best bike I've ever had. When I sold it it had over 100 000 km mileage. Greetings from Poland.
My brother in law has one of those Aprilia Mille models. It's in immaculate shape, he's had it for quite a few years now. Terrific bike, a little soft on power, but great handling and even better brakes, especially for how old the bike is! I'll put my money on the Aprilia, which may yet be a mistake 😂
This is what was called for this winter! Always good fun when there’s a good buildup and 4play before the real showdown. I’m saying the Mille will be the first to pop a leak! Even with that bulletproof engine 😂
That Orange and Blue Mille with the Italian twin projector conversion (seen in the ad at 3min 20 sec on vid) when you were looking for your bikes to run in the challenge was my old bike. It was blown up on the dyno by a local tuner. It spun its fly wheel off at 10000 rpm - sheared the woodruff key on the crank as it was not torqued up tight enough by previous owner when sprag clutch was replaced, known issue, as it was stupid NM figure. With advice from a respected specialist I cleaned up the crank end (all the debris was sucked onto the stator magnet) - fitted a new woodruff key and lagged it with Loctite quick metal. Good as new "good for another 20000 miles" as was advised. Ran it for another few months and sold it on. The bike had loads of unique bits on it, italian twin projector front end conversion (cant remember name of company), airbox conversion etc. Glad to see it was still kicking around a few years later. Funny the tuner had just said, by the way there is no warranty when doing power runs on old bikes! The day was not a total loss, while I was waiting for recovery, young lad opened up the unit next to him and in it was a mint Fireblade 1998, been in storage for 8 years when his Dad moved to Bahamas. Made him a stupid offer, he phoned his Dad and 20 mins later the Fireblade was mine. So came out OK but if you could have seen mine and the tuners face when it went bang, it was a picture.
Probably actually realized the issues had nothing to do with the cams. It was a engineer issue with oil ports not lining up and lack of oil getting to cams
@@Filthy_Goblin_44 it is known that the camshafts themselves were not to blame, but the video appeared on this channel a few days ago, I started watching it and they deleted it halfway through. Strange thing
That gen R1 is a cornering beast. It's faster than most in the corners, especially with well sorted track suspension. Bone stock, those things were mid 130 RWHP when they came out. This bike's motor is making good to great power (Stock) - 20 years later. I raced an '02 R1 back in the day. Some of it's contemporary liter bikes (Suzuki/Kawi) would stroll away from me on the straights, but I would slay them in the corners. It was a great bike, and I still miss it.
Being an Aprilia Tuono V2 owner, I have to say I'm backing the Aprilia on this one, bummer that Chris bought it as I'm traditionally an Al backer. Still, at least when Chris claims to have won already just for turning up, I won't be so annoyed by him.
Already know Al wins as he didn’t make the fatal error of buying a vehicle from Birmingham..
Top Gear taught even us Americans about people from Birmingham...
Come on lmao

BBB is what brought me here to begin with.
Brilliant. R1 for the win
The Aprilia sounds wicked!

Those Rotax engines are indeed superb but quite thirsty as well.

R1 has it in the bag. They're good motors them
The ‘03 R1 is the bike I had on my wall years ago. Runner, love it, got a beaut there!!

Hahaha that's amazing! Someone has a sense of humour - I do hope that's a 44t MOT 😅

Had one of them silver and black r1s. Great bike circa 03. The tail light and all up styling was cutting edge. Team R1 for the win.
Love that R1. Had the same bike, and wish I still owned it. There's a couple of videos on my YT channel, and looks much better in red and white.
Nice seeing you at All Bikes and Spares, great shop and all top blokes.
Who’d of thought Max Biaggi’s bike would be in Wolverhampton!
Im sure that tail light is an MOT failure.. lights not far enough appart. Cant wait for this chaps! 🎉

Yep, indicators are supposed to be spaced 150mm minimum apart but to be honest I think that'll be the least of their worries 😂
The only thing really required is a horn 😅
I've had the same model R1 fail the MOT for that integrated tail light indicator set up.
