Hey Paul, I am reluctant to recommend it to most people but at this point you're rather far gone here. Try Balatro, and commit to doing something productive like painting or chores in between rounds
I work in a drug court program. Every day I interact with people struggling with addiction, often at the lowest points in their lives. Even if you weren’t trying, this was a very poignant and powerful message about addiction. I hope people take away from this just how all consuming it can. Keep your head up, there’re much worse things to get addicted to.
My addictions might be very silly and mostly fuelled by ADHD hyperfocus pushing me to try one more thing, but I'm hoping that it has a somewhat relatable twinge within the absolute madness I've presented.
This video was concerning, but on the upside I really appreciate the little extra bits of editing you put into this video. The message about not using time in a way that feels fun or productive is one I resonate with a lot, having dealt with similar situations myself. Whatever direction you choose in life, Paul, I hope that it's a fun direction, regardless of how 'productive' it might feel - these experiences are good to serve as lessons of what not to do, that if something isn't working out it's OK to cut your losses or try something different. Sometimes giving up on an idea is the best course of action - it's that kind of thing that actually got me into warhammer in the first place, actually! Now get those boats primed or play balatro
Wow. . . Just. . . Wow. I knew this would be special when your intro gave me the same vibes as the intro to a multi-hour video essay about an excellent indie horror project. But I didn't expect *THIS!* I truly think you might've outdone yourself Paul. The suffering may not have been worth it for you. But that suffering allowed you to make something truly great. I hope that knowledge brings you even a modicum of comfort and joy after turning your brain into a frog, and this challenge into a pot of slowly boiling water. Not to mention that the line "I am me and there is no cure" is an epitaph worthy quote. Heck, removed from the context, I think it's downright inspirational! Finally. . . Damn, this video really dragged my eyeballs away from the distractions and made me look at the truth of gambling like this. I have let myself get sucked into time voids like what you're describing, but not on that level. I've been getting a more into physical TCG's lately, but this video truly reminded me of the problems that come from gambling on packs. Beyond that, it showed me the dangers of letting my own hyperfocus run rampant. So, thanks for the sobering reminder of just how close I am to a precipice of complete financial and cognitive ruination!😅👍
Happy new year paul. I hope the channel is going well, or more importantly, youre having alot of fun doing vids. Best of luck with the whole job situation
Building the temple of the elusive goal; spending unreasonable amounts of time doing ridiculous stuff that you know, in your heart, might not elicit more than a brief glimmer of relieve rather than the happiness you thought it might provide. Yeah, that sounds like ADHD alright. Cool crab tho.
I am still 100% convinced that if there was a lawyer who wanted good money, they could pull a class action against every game with gatcha mechanics for being predatory to adhd people.
as a result they'd have to put a disclaimer on there... the same way gambling ads show the "glamor, thrill, and fun" while having tiny text at the end with a helpline for gambling addiction
This is the best video I have seen of yours and I love your content but it’s honestly concerning Paul it’s a weird mix of entertainment and unease. Thank you for sharing this experience with us
I'm actually quite proud of the fact that I've not gambled much but out of all the times I've gambled I've actually made a slight profit 👍 Fortunately I only get addicted to weird menial tasks
I don't think you got addicted to card, but to the challenge, and I'd say it was more out of stubborness. The reason you probably didn't feel good is not because you won but it wasn't what you needed, but because you won and found out it happens in a disappointing way. I don't think you risk becoming an addict, unless there's an addiction to stupid goal one sets up for themselves, so maybe the lesson is... don't do it, now that you know? lmao
I've been unemployed for less than 2 weeks and I'm already at this stage things are going well please subscribe! 1 like and I'll paint some warhammer.

Nice try with that logic bro shit but gambling and video games are different
@@games-wz7sz Quite a lot of countries disagree with that. A whole bunch of games have been banned in all sorts of countries because of loot boxes.
