    Medusa has been a African Goddess for countless ages. It is so refreshing to see a Pagan give truth and honor to her and her African roots. Beautiful painting as well! Blessings!

    Incredible insight. I’ve been searching around about Medusa after the synchronicities with her have been off the charts for me. Your video has really provided me with some of the answers I was seeking, thank you!!!❤️‍🔥

    I feel that 👑 Medusa was definitely from Sirius B in the sirius system, if not, then I would’ve guessed a beautiful primordial naga being - the Partheno descendants of the 🐍 snakes! Blessings! ✨

    The disembodiment of Medusa's head and fracturing of the two aspects of self, Medusa and Athena, could also symbolize the fracturing of the intellect from the physical and emotional...the entering perspective valuing the intellect (often translated as masculine) as supreme to the physical, emotional, intuitive (often translated as feminine)...again attempts of the masculine to diminish and/or control the feminine.

Thank you 🙏 what a beautiful energy she is … I know of her and was fascinated by her as a child watching movies about greek mythology… like u said so many goddesses have been stripped of their power … thank you for bringing light to who she really is ❤️🐍

    This made me think of Finnish goddess of the earth Akka who has snakes as her symbol and during Matopäivä (Finnish version of Ostara) all the snakes woke up together with the goddess earth. Snake is a powerful symbol that can be found from many cultures. Another African goddess who comes into my mind is Mami Wata. I always felt sorry for Medusa in the Greek myth. She also had two sister who abandoned her (another triple aspect).

    Thank you for giving us this information sister. Thanks to my pagan faith, I've learned
    to have balance within and have a clear understanding of duality of the masculine and
    feminine. Gender superiority from both sides has brought us nothing but greed and
    hate also...war. If we don't try to love and bring peace and respect to one another, we will
    end up like the two families from Romeo and Juliet. I bet the God and Goddess
    are crying in shame knowing that we are selfish children.
    Thanks to this information, I love and respect Medusa even more now.
    Thank you Laura and blessed be. )O(

    Love this video ❤️
    I read Martin Barnel's "Black Athena" book, and his later works. His hypothesis for Medusa coming from Africa is an interesting one. However, I tend to see her as a Greek/European Goddess in my path, However Africa did also have a lot of snake Goddesses, who lived in water which links to Europe myths of multi-headed serpents living in water. So I guess they are linked, however who cares about the "accurate" history because stories are ever changing and if you connect with her then that's beautiful ❤️ doesn't matter how you Invision her, like any other goddess, if it works for you then rock it xx

    I came to the same conclusion about her turning men to "stone" ...that it meant an erection. But after she was "cursed" by Athena she turned men into actual stone,? or they were frozen with terror? (turned to stone again?) transforming her power from sexual arousal to fear. I thought perhaps Athena did this to give her a waepon to protect herself with. Afterall, Athena is wisdom and war.
    And, Medusa had sisters...What is your impression of her two sisters?

    • @BeverlyFields

      Medusa was worshipped for millenia before Athena showed up. That rape story wasn't even a thing until almost 400 AD - after the Helenization/Christiaization of that part of the world. Medusa (Aka Medea) is Athena's mother. Athena's first temple in the ancient world is topped with Medusa and her other children. That nonsense about Zeus birthing Athena from his head is stolen from her.

    Great video :) Poseidon is one of my patron Gods, I don't like what he did. So anyway, Athena can't curse Poseidon because he's a God but he's immortal, so she would have to curse Medusa because she had to remain a virgin and she broke that "vow" of her Goddess. That's what I think though. Can't wait to see that Aphrodite video :)

    • @lauraredwitch

      Dylan Wilson Cool thanks for the info! I found older sources since saying that Medusa and Poseidon were lovers and as Athena and Poseidon weren't friends this is why she cursed Medusa... so that casts our SeaGod friend in a better light :)

    Amazing video with amazing insights! And, gorgeous painting!
    I was wondering about something that was triggered by what you said about Athena being a part of Medusa.
    *this next part could be a trigger warning for anyone who has been through any kind of SA, so read with caution*
    My question is this:
    Could Athena be the shadow aspect of Medusa in this instance? The aspect of the self who, after having been SA’d, turns the self into an unlovable, unlikable, undesirable “monster”, as so many of us tend to do after SA?
    It’s a heavy topic and thought process, but it came to me as I watched your video and I felt drawn to share it with others. Any thoughts?
    Much love to you all, and I’m sorry if this was triggering to anyone.

    beautiful. exquisite work in both the intuitive/research, and the painting. I know there is always more to a story than the "conversation", and "book". and the people of the ancient world weren't "pure" white skin. my father was Italian and "gypsy". ( egyptian) my mother was african- american. I promise you, my skin is not "pure" white. nor is my mind set white privilege. my ancestral history goes back to the oldest religion on the planet. thank you for this. love. maria. white witch. my father's daughter.

    Little thing, there was never a "Maiden Mother Crone" in ancient paganism.
    There were no "crone" goddesses. All Goddesses are eternally young and beautiful, unless in disguise.
    It's an invention from just a couple of decades ago. A cool one, but contrived.
    Also thanks for not holding Gods accountable for the hangups of cynical writers! Ovid was an impious jerk.

    This was a really fascinating video. I always really enjoy your content, always such a high quality :)
    Just a tip for next time, not at all meant in a negative way - you tend to smack your lips quite a lot while presenting which makes a sucking noise, which is not the best for anyone listening with headphones! Just a heads up!
    But gorgeous as always, one of the best pagan channels out there!

    • @atlantisfae1111
      @atlantisfae1111 7 років тому

      'not meant in a negative way' - Surely the intelligent thing to do would be to pull your headphones out and listen without them rather than ask someone to change something about themselves that they do naturally. Hahahaha! Laura you lip smack away & don't attempt to change a natural mannerism for anyone.

    • @musative
      @musative 7 років тому

      Atlantis Fae I actually listened without headphones and it was still an issue, so I imagined it would be worse for someone who was using them! Of course it's up to Laura whether she takes my feedback on board but it's only meant constructively (not as hate) and most UA-camrs are looking for ways to grow their channel and improve their format and content, so I imagined it might be useful to hear. Anyway I'm sure Laura can speak for herself and doesn't need viewers, myself and yourself included, to do it for her! As I mentioned I'm a big fan of hers and the feedback was only meant constructively.

    • @atlantisfae1111
      @atlantisfae1111 7 років тому

      Lip smacking is a way of sucking the saliva back from the front of the mouth and that's what I found hilarious about your 'feedback' - asking her to alter her saliva glands!! That's not feedback or constructive criticism. Asking someone to not smack their lips together isn't going to grow or hinder their channel. It's a personal pet peeve of yours clearly.

    • @musative
      @musative 7 років тому

      Atlantis Fae I apologise for not being clued up on the intricacies of lip-smacking then... As I said, Laura is perfectly capable of defending herself, I left a polite and constructive bit of feedback, and it's up to her not you how she chooses to receive it! I'm not sure why you're so determined to paint me as a hater when I'm clearly not, nor why this has bugged you so much in the first place. Anyway brightest blessings to you, provided we can put this strange dispute to bed x

    • @atlantisfae1111
      @atlantisfae1111 7 років тому

      As you said "I'm sure Laura can speak for herself and doesn't need viewers, myself and yourself included, to do it for her!" - I'm sure she doesn't need you to give her advice on growing her UA-cam channel!
      I don't think you are a hater, I'm engaing with you on your bizarre, controlling comment dressed up as 'constructive criticism'.
