Amigo. Bird is smiling wherever his essence is right now. He'd be proud of you mate. You're the proof that devotion to what you love is all there is. Thank you thank you thank you. God bless you:)
I just recently discovered this cat - it really blows my mind how diverse he is. Usually a guitarist picks one lane and stays in it, I don't recall seeing many classical guitarists that possess the creative gene like this guy has..
Incredible, 79 dislikes. I'd think that people who don't play guitar would be the ones to give this a thumbs down. It is superior work. There really aren't that many guitarists who are capable of this. Go ahead, try it!
wonderful playing. I'm an instant fan. I hope you enjoy a nice career as a player, wherever you may wind up. Keep playing and stay on the path. good for you, lad.
I just wish God can grant me the pleasure of knowing you and Biréli Lagrène in person, or at least to see you two playing toghether, that would be really out of the limits of this galaxy. Tnx DC school for this amazing video!!! 😱
The tune "Donna Lee" was written to get around the copyright rules pertaining in America just after WW11 and the tune is based on the chord structure of the much older jazz song " Indiana" there is of course a key change, from "F" to Aflat, which was commonly done by both Parker/ Gillespie to further disguise the original tune from the new one. If dissonance becomes a problem for some listeners, then they must exercise their right to switch OFF the music, but speaking for myself, and in particular listening to Monk, I have the opinion that dissonance is comparable to mustard used in sandwiches, that is to say, not everyone enjoys it, but most agree that it spices up the flavour ! Excellent playing by Antoine Boyer, he has a fertile musical mind, and is one man to keep an eye on for the future.
The key change from F to Ab is because Indiana in F piano was mainly played by tenor or trumpet players, F giving them G with only one sharp. Parker was an alto player, then Ab piano was giving him F with one flat.
This is by far one of the most soulful improvisations.
I'm stoked by this guy. It's like reinventing the whole genre.
by far the best interpretation I have seen of Donna lee so far. The guitar really is an orchestra on its own! Bravo!

I love his interpretation of the head. Very cool.
mais c'est un malade !! j'adore son style de jeu hyper différent de ce qu'on a l'habitude d'entendre. chapo !

Frédéric Brenner - putain Frédéric… Ton anglais! Pas terrible...
He's not a classical guitarist - he's been deep into Django's music since ahe was a wonder kid.

It has no dislikes bro
@@cjgreen4331 Now it has no dislikes, because UA-cam has eliminated them. The video is terrific.
This is perhaps the best version I've ever heard of the song, the Gypsy rhythm really makes the melody shine
Who could dislike this? bravissimo!
¡Excelente Antoine! feeling, precisión y excelente digitación. Saludos 👍🏿
Absolutely brilliant!!!
Nice! Tasteful and creative. A different spin on Donna Lee.
c'est tout simplement magnifique! l'exposition du thème est géniale! bravo
some of the best playing i’ve seen in a while
Awe-inspiring playing and creative harmonic ideas etc. Full of thought and passion. His left hand is a new wonder of the world.
Loved this ! I'll bet Willie would too.
wonderful playing. I'm an instant fan. I hope you enjoy a nice career as a player, wherever

... and even better for us!!

1:10 is a win for me
b9 major arpeggio on the dominant chord. the whole reason i transcribe this solo was for that sequence.
Wow, Bob Dylan is a much better guitarist than I thought!
NICE ONE !! LOLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL
he deserves another Nobel for playing this gypsy swing version of Donna Lee... LOL

Enjoyed it and subscribing. Working on Donna Lee on piano and guitar. .
Outstanding
woooow this is good music, love you
Great rendition which adds to the musicality of this tune. Looks like Nils Lofgren.
Incredible Man
Amazingly good.
Amazinnggg
Joder, ¡qué clase!
A bit weird...but in a good way. He obviously could play it 'correctly' if he wanted - but when you can play like that, why would you want to?
so true!
Interesting intro... Well done.
Amazing
He starts with polyphonies baby please. Sublime.
Though he looked like he is about to faint any second, the performance was nothing but awesome.
An old hat polished up with a couple of grains of anarchism - brilliant!
That ending!!!
That whole song!!!
Yeah... That’s a very nice ending..!
Insane!!
Bravo
What fun - Donna Lee played in a modernistic 'Hot Club of Paris' style - iEstupendo!
Fantastic interpretation of new donna lee.is it for C.Parker or Antoine Boyer.Superbe!
Love it! Nice solo i enjoyed it better than the head
J´ Aime Bien Antoine!!!Bien Jouez!!

yeah man!
I wasn't prepare to love it ^^ Top melodies :)
awesome
Phenomenal
That was sick
There's another video of him teaching counterpoint and another of him playing Scarlatti. Not surprising at all after him play Donna Lee. Great player.
Not since Pat Martino's solo on Donna Lee has a guitarist dropped my jaw open on that tune like this one....

How refreshing.
Genius 🎸🎸
Can someone explain what he's doing around 0:46 😭😭😭
Drascus Drewman a double stop
Wow. That was a huge surprise.
Is there a pdf of this? I'd love to learn his interpretation
DJANGO LIVES!!!
not at all reminiscent of django
I can see a two fingered ghost with a pencil mustache sitting at his right shoulder ,
"This performance is NOT part of the lesson" what if I decide to transcribe it and steal all the juicy licks ? :P
JohnCwok pls do and post here
Hypothetically, what would happen if you shared your transcriptions with me?
Django Lee
Donna went back to the wood shed
I will like to see him play with Pasquale Grasso
I was just thinking this!!
Woooh. Sick! :D
Unbelievable!!!!!
bravo
What a thrill 🙂
He wanted to fool everyone, because every guitar instruction about how to play Donna Lee, shows almost the identical fingering, very creative.
Yeah!!!
