    Hi there everything looks beautiful, great job ! But please please please… move the table and the chairs away from the railing! I’m a mother of 3 and a grandmother! Children are unpredictable even when they are properly trained! Don’t take unnecessary chances, it’s better to be safe than sorry!

    Beautiful! Good job on everything. In this video my favorite is the playroom. But I had two boys as well. Please, please move the table and chairs away from the stair rail. My firstborn did everything he was told. The second was a little dare devil and would try to hide what he had done. Like touching the hot plate of a coffee maker and running to the bathroom to put cold water on his fingers. Or the time he jumped off the top bunk onto a pile of stuffed animals…and missed. The scream let us know. We had very good boys. Doesn’t stop curiosity. Stay well. Love your ideas. I am 67 with one dog and my house doesn’t look anywhere near that cute or clean. 🤣 Bet you will love Nashville. Take care and thanks for sharing. 😎✌🏻

    Sharrah , never, ever , underestimate the power of curiosity in small children. All the best words and warning are no match! One step up to the table and a little peek over could result in a tragic accident. Yes, I am a grandmother to 3 grandsons... 29,19 and 3 years old. When you said I hope i don't have to eat my words..... oh, if that would be the only thing, this wouldn't be such a big deal. You could have to live with a preventable tragedy.

      You could put the table as "coffee table" and then just move it when they use the climbing structure.

    Kids don’t have adults brain. As much as we would like our adult words to make sense, they don’t have the same meaning to children. Your job is to protect, and teach what their brain can grasp at each level of their development. I pray 🤲 nothing happens. Take care.

  • @porschehamilton9717
    @porschehamilton9717 6 місяців тому +7

    No maammmmmm. Move the table and chairs. U can teach them but in the heat of the moment playing, they WILL climb up and jump. They won't remember. They're too little. Now at 5 or so, yes, they should know and remember not to jump. The consequences are TOO high to take a chance or prove a point.

    • @kathyestes6577
      @kathyestes6577 6 місяців тому +1

      They might fall even if they know not to jump. Little ones don’t have a sense of proportions. I’ve seen those videos of them trying to sit on a tiny chair or put on a doll shoe.
      I agree, Sharrah PLEASE do something to make that table area safer. Your life would be shattered if anything happened especially when it could have been prevented.

    Your home is lovely! Thanks for the part 2 tour. Just an observation because I raised 5 boys and 1 girl. Please move the little table and chairs away from the railing. Maybe place it under the window. Leave the railing clear so there is absolutely nothing they can stand on to launch themselves over the railing!

  • @janwhite1361
    @janwhite1361 6 місяців тому +13

    PLEASE consider placing a couple of floor -to - ceilind plexiglass panels where the table and chairs are located at the stair rails.
    PLEASE don't leave it to chance.
    It's just too tempting for children to climb up on the table and rails, no matter how smart they are. Children love to climb.

    My friend's daughter got a serious brain injury from falling where the little girl knew she wasn't supposed to be. The pain that family went through FOR YEARS was horrific. Children don't have developed brains and may come up with ideas just on the spur of the moment... so WHAT ARE YOU THINKING??? The way you brush off the warnings people have given you is astonishing. Please please just move that table!!!
    This comes from a loving heart.❤

    Sorry Sharrah...not just jumping/falling over the railing...it looks like they could just squeeze through the slats. A small child, in my city, went through similarly-spaced railing on an apartment balcony - she fell to her death. Yes, teach your children, but curious children often do the unexpected or break the rules.
    With love from Canada ❤

    My son was a climber with no fear of heights. His pediatrician called him "a simian," a monkey and these children are born this way, it is not something they have learned. One day we caught him running around on the roof at the age of 2. My husband was checking something and he had climbed up the ladder. His younger brother was definitely NOT a simian.

    Your home is becoming your home, rental or not. Many don’t realize that in a rental you can still make it your home.
    I will say and I’m sure you are tired of comments. Loft area, don’t leave two young active boys, to faith. I have an open loft, except solid half wall. My ‘kids’ are grown but have an active, young German Sherperd. When I wanted to set up as in the model, sectional against the wall. My son pointed out no. All it would take was him jumping on couch and deciding to jump down.
    I know it’s a rental but I’ve seen barriers for open lofts. Not sure permanent or not. If they are, the next renter may appreciate it, if they have children. You have many connections , consider using them.

I have to say , I don’t have children but I would still move the table , After listening to my husband talk about all the things they did as a kid and were taught not to do, they love the challenge of doing what mom and dad said not to LOL. I asked him about the table and chairs what he thought ………..all he said was . Boys will be Boys .😊.

    I'm almost 41 and quite sensible. I'm still curious and doing things I know I shouldn't. Safety first with our most precious. You do you, but the internet has their reasons for being concerned- largely lived experience or knowledge. It can't be easy to parent on social media, but it's ok to heed the warnings others share.
    Honestly- I've missed the rest of the video from the play room section because my mind has been racing. I don't know if it's worth going back or not. Maybe this isn't my corner of the internet.

    I'm so glad you put the boys in the same bedroom together; makes life easier and helps them to bond. Love the way everything looks so cozy and inviting. Great job on the gallery wall in your office and what an ingenious lock on the door. Wish they would have made those when my kids were little. The Alabaster books of the Bible are beautiful, my daughter has them. My favorite room is the boys' playroom. Such a great selection of toys and books and I can tell that Brody's going to be reader because he loves to hold the books. I agree with you about the high stairwell by the craft table. We can't put bubble wrap around our children, we have to teach them and show them how to use their good sense. If you teach them in your house, they won't act like maniacs at other people's houses like some of my friends kids did. Lol

    As a mom to 6 boys, you can train them. They can follow directions and listen to the warnings. Then one day they'll ask, "What happens if I do this...?" It only takes once. You can have boys with very compliant personalities, but no child obeys 100%. Don't count on that as your plan. I know it's disappointing, and when they are young, you can think it's possible because they may not push boundaries right away. But eventually, they will. You might get lucky. They might not push that one. But, also, they might.

    I've watched both parts of your home tour. All very nice and predictable.

    10% West Elm

    For the window seat in your spare bedroom, you can make your own cushion by purchasing foam and making a fabric cover. If you don’t sew, you can buy fabric glue to put the seams together. Fairly simple process. I did this to replace covers on my outdoor cushions and they have held up well.

    Try simple rubbing alcohol for sharpie and other permament markers. Keep in mind that some finishes (some high gloss paint, plastics, unlaquered stain etc.) may absorb ink and stain forever, so try to remove sharpie marks ASAP. Hand sanitizer might be ok if it's alcohol-based on the condition that it doesn't contain moisturising ingredients - these may smudge, so you should test it first. Hand sanitizer works miracles though if the kids draw with sharpies all over their skin.

    Amazon has quite a few bench seat manufacturers. They aren’t too bad in price. Had some made for my RV
    You and the place look gorgeous as always ❤😊

    Darlin', As a mom & grandmom....please swap places of the table and chairs next to the stairs over to the windows side of the room. I have experience with boys and they climb like monkeys in the wink of an eye . The table and chairs are a step ladder to swing their leg over to straddle the railing and over they go. How about putting a reading teepee there instead with cushions so they can read firmly planted on the floor? Maybe they're not climbers, but their playdate buddies might be and kids are very fast. I had 2 boys & 2 girls. Only one was the daredevil. Love your content best wishes on the new adventure.

    Its great. You’ve done a great job. It will be nice to see what wallpaper you’ll use in the boys room. Love the light this house gets. The guest room is a very calm bright room. Guests should feel very comfortable there.
