      I’ve had those in just over 3-years and had no issue with them… I used to think I could feel a difference and they’re said to give a better and stronger spark but that’s likely marketing jargon.

      As long as yours is an EA211 engine, you’ll have no issues.
      The major changes between the MK7 & MK7.5 are cosmetic i.e. front bumper, rear diffuser & interior (info-tainment).

      According to the APR website, these coil packs provide a brighter and stronger spark to the Spark Plug therefore igniting more efficiently. I’m not sure this is something you’ll officially feel but response when driving is very good when you put your foot down.

    What spark plug are you using? Is NGK 93231 Platinum a suitable one. I noticed these are 2 mm longer compared to the genuine ones from VW 04Е 905 612 C. If 2mm longer would they do the job or stick to the default ones from VW? Also what contact grease to be used between the spark plugs and the coils? Many Thanks!

    Let me try this again.......the sound track was horribly distracting and obscured your comments much of the time. The visual presentation looked worthwhile but the grating soundtrack ruined the viewing experience. Perhaps if you feel the need to have "music" in the background you could mix it way down low so your voice is more dominant.

    Have you noticed much if any performance gains?

    • @alexandermax13
      @alexandermax13  3 роки тому +3

      I’m unsure if it’s a placebo effect but; the car feels more responsive and goes through its RPM range a lot quicker, is that because the Coil Pack is said to provide a longer and brighter current to the spark plug, I don’t know.
      I’ve also heard it can make the engine more efficient as there is less un-burnt fuel left in the cylinder…
      Personally I think it does make a difference albeit probably very small, overall I’m pleased with it though as it’s definitely an eye catcher.

    hello I bought a golf 7 1.4 tsi and I have a little problem, I hope you can help me :-), I have two little problems,
    the first: when I start the car, I notice small jerks, small tremors, which make the vehicle move very slightly, these noticeable only when stationary.
    the second problem is when I put the first gear, I notice that it lacks "power" to get off the ground, I don't know if it's because I come from a bigger engine, but it grazes a little anyway, but I find that it lacks a bit of power to get the vehicle to move, so I have to increase the revs a bit (kind of like the clutch is tired but it's not), can be that the engine a little?
    when I did the maintenance in the summer, I asked to check the spark plug ignition coils, and the mechanic told me that the coils are good, and the coils have apparently been changed by the previous owner barely 25000km ago
    can be a candle?

    • @alexandermax13
      @alexandermax13  2 роки тому

      Hi Ano, in order to diagnose the issue it’d be helpful to know more about your car such as the year of registration and current mileage.
      I’d also like to remind you that a COMPETENT mechanic should be able to resolve the above issues for you.
      Here goes what I believe might be the issue, based on the information provided above and without seeing the vehicle.
      Problem 1: the trembling of the car when you start it/engine is running, could be due to the bushings in the engine mounts being worn, the engine might also be running a little dry due to burning too much engine oil causing internal wear due to too much friction (this is not good but also less likely if you have it checked often). If your car moves when you start it, I’d also be checking if your handbrake is working correctly (cable tension, brake pads, brake fluid etc.).
      Problem 2: depending on the mileage of your car or the driving style of the previous owner, the clutch plate might just need replacing because it’s slipping… this is to be expected if you have one of the early MK7 Golf’s.
      Personally I find the EA211 is quite forgiving and will operate very well at low RPM’s when driving in urban areas whilst in more rural areas it’s still a very responsive and fast vehicle so I don’t think going from a bigger to smaller engine will necessarily be what you’re noticing - note I drive a lot of bigger engines as a hobby so understand what larger engines feel like… 😄

      @@alexandermax13 HAHA yes I can imagine, I am in Belgium and the taxes discourage going above 2 liters, otherwise the state comes to use directly in your wallet, so a big engine for me it was 2.0 l. lol

      year 2013, 132000 km

      but over 10,000km approximately, it is true that I have already exceeded 2 liters of oil in the engine (I have just put 1.2 liters) for approximately the road since September (I had not calculated the mileage but about 3 or 4000km can be +)
      and I must admit that it worried me, but I made 100% of city with this small engine, and apparently 1 liter for 3-4000km it is more or less "normal", you confirm?

    Where to locate the pcv valv?

      The EA211 engines don’t have a PCV Valve. Out of interest are you looking for the PCV Valve on a different engine?

      This sounds like it could be a fuel pump error as it’s not delivering enough fuel - therefore making the mixture too lean. Alternatively, your mixture is too air rich, which is often “less” problematic…
      Have you also checked or replaced your Spark Plugs recently?

      what should i do ?

      Diagnose the route cause. Either replace parts that could be causing the issue or take it to a qualified mechanic.
      I would first look at replacing the spark plugs (and coil packs) in case of poor ignition, replace the air filter in case of poor air flow, then replace the fuel pump as a last resort.

      Unfortunately they’re just not designed for the EA211 engines but thankfully the module does so reusing the original boot isn’t too bad of a compromise.
