You can use it after spinning reaper to continue your combo and restore sharpness at the same time. It also frees up 3 lvl 1 slots on your build.
Also frees up masters touch or protective polish on some builds hey :)

@@HaseoXth it's also great on embolden builds since guard chop fills the same role as metsu
20 sharpness is so much. This makes any SNS usable. I see this being used with the new risen kushala helm for wirebug whisper and wind mantle, to manage bugs for metsu shoryugeki even when using 1 on destroyer oil. Destroyer oil looks so cool.
This is an interesting way to use it. I want to experiment with the Lucent SnS since poison is more universally useful compared to Dragon. Though if Lucent has 10 white, that means you only get 10 purple to work with before needing to reapply Destoyer Oil. The PP2 with Speed Sharp 3 might still be the best way to go. I don't want to use MT or Razor Sharp on a Grinder build because you may get stuck in white lol. Or maybe Ibushi is the way to go hm.

i still rather sharpen with grinder 3 for that juicy protective polish (and to not have to swap for metsu)
Yeah, perhaps at the end of the day using a whetstone or whetfish to activate grinder s and protective polish is optimal, but it's still fun to play around with destroyer oil.
I’ve got a Berserk Bloodrite build that I’ve been trying to make work. It’s probably the only build that would make Destroyer Oil a legitimately useful skill, but as soon as I can get the parts for it, I’ll swap out my Protective Polish 4 jewel with a Grinder S 4 jewel when I can
Im using it currently on a Guard Slash + Dereliction build. My Red scroll has the Metsu which i use mostly only in the hello roar sequences. Then i stay in Blue for Destroyer Oil, since i have Guard Slash as a counter option. Propolish became a chore or a waste of uptime, and either razor sharp or master touch became more viable, depending on how much crit chance the build has.
Can i ask what is that layered armor you’re using?
Swallow legs, and everything else is Channeler with the head piece hidden.

I really like this for the SnS, since one of the problems I have when using it is sharpness management. But I imagine it's like GL's Counter Edge and does not activate Protective Polish.

They should just do a less powerful Chaos oil next time

You missed V. Mizu SNS, which has extremely short white and blue sharpness, which means it only needs Grinder(S) Lv1 to make destroyer oil good, which makes it even better than Ibushi and Lucent SNS.
V. Mizu sns is not a good choice. 1) There's like 70 hits of purple you have to go through first. 2) It has 20 hits of white, meaning even Grinder (S) Lv2 doesn't even work with destroyer oil.

@@HaseoXth If you mean how long I keep using it, I've been doing so since TU3 hit. I absolutely despise Metsu, Windmill is lame...Destroyer Oil is awesome.

20 points of sharpness here is kind of crazy ngl.
As we all pretty much know at this point that’s the same as Bladescale hone restoration, meaning Grinder(S) builds will no longer need Bladescale hone for activation anymore, hell who needs any of the other sharpness skills anymore with this new buff.
