Headgirl at two schools?? Wow. That shows that you're a natural leader. It looks like both schools are well maintained as well with beautiful gardens. The roads, however, another story. Congrats on 2k btw!!
The piles of garbage by the roadside in Mbare triggered mysophobia in me, my skin literally started crawling. In as much as things are tough for most Zimbabweans and poverty I'd real, there's no excuse for the high tolerance levels we harbour for untidiness and filth. Wow lil Sis, What a journey down memory lane. It Started with the video you sent to Ridzo who shared to with us on the family WhatsApp. Loved that too but, This journey from Mbare where I lived for a sort time before we moved to Mufakose where I spent my childhood days and married from was another thing. I recognised the roads, and some buildings as you drove. The brown brick building on the left as you passed the left turn to Southerton and the roundabout in Workington(?), used to be a bank and I knew when to turn left. According to my memory, the police station was built when Mufakose was built in the sixties. Our family moved in soon after and we first lived on Mutongotowe Street before moving to 32 Mumonda. Interesting seeing the clinics - one was Maternity - at start of Mumonda. You brought tears to my eyes as I saw the streets. Tears of memory and sorrow. But, our people are amazing. Have just shared to my Australian kids who have seen Southerton but do not remember Mufakose because they were young and we are planning a trip sometime soon. As you said, know where you are from well, I wish my children to have a visual of where they Mum is from - Great confirmation Waita basa Muningina Best Regards. Always
