I like your philosophy with the compressor. For awhile I hated comps on violin but the more I play with them, the more I realize that just a bit of "clean overdrive" type comp is actually really useful to pully different tones out of an electric fiddle.
Thanks, Alex. Yes, I hear you. A common mistake is a WAY TOO MUCH Compression. A little bit, tastefully added to the mix is really great! I stumbled upon using Compression more myself when I started to do larger venues and my sound engineer was dialling up Compression on the Soundboard to control the house mix more. I opted to add that Compressor myself to have a little more control of my sound/tone. Compression (used the wrong way) can sound harsh and too bright. All the best with your comp journey! T

i wonder what electric guitar combo with violin sounds like
basically you know heavy metal fast and loud what if you try make it total opposite slow and atmospheric

Thanks Trevor as always clear interesting and beautifully presented.....loved your sound and efx board....great chorus, flanger and the twinkle really sounded better than many a big muff distortion pedal.....fascinating.
The shape really reminds me of the bridge violins but that is active not passive. Really thank you for demo, we just don’t have the opportunity here in ozz to try out many instruments though I must say I’ve commissioned a new semi 6string that I’ll be getting this year....been discussing electrics etc so it promises to be a very beautiful and well designed baby I hope will survive long after I’m not here!
But that’s later.....
