optical bay is the reason i will buy this case :D
The best points of this case is that it has a now rare 5.25 bay. And also it is a midi case that can fit an E-ATX mobo. I found no other case in 2020 that had these options together 🙂
and you can side mount a GPU

You're forgetting that Corsair was bought out in full by an investment firm. Expect higher prices for fewer features and shoddier workmanship trend to escalate.

What a hot mess of a case. It's 2019. The O11 Dynamic exists. The P600s exists. The Dark Base 600/900 exists. The Meshify C/S2 exists. This is categorically noncompetitive.
Same way their 680x is... same way all Corsair cases have been for a long time. AND they're overpriced to boot.
You are entitled to your own opinion, but I think this case looks better than the P600.
The 011 is a really nice case, but no optical drive. P600 - same. The dark base doesn't look as good - I like the look of this, including the door, much better. The Meshify is ugly and no optical. I'm tired of people like you who think because it's not for you, it's not for anyone.

Maybe a dab of oil or gear grease on the door hinge rods/poles where it's so tight and hard to remove the door?

I was interested in this case but after your review i will stick with getting the fractal design r6.
very frank review, personally i dont care for glass and its a little out of place in terms of looks, with a bit of thick acrylic lets say 4 - 5mm thick it would be great and quiet but with a white border.
Why don't Corsair make a case with this kind of look but in ITX size kinda like the NZXT H200, there are no good looking Corsair ITX cases at all.
bc their crappy overpriced cases that they do make dont sell well. Probably because other companies do it better.
Wait so let me get this straight:
- Front somewhat taken from Fractal Design Define series
- drive cages taken from BeQuiet
- glass panel looks like phanteks
- top looks like phanteks P600S
- interior kind of same same as already existing competitors’ cases
Not only did they fail to bring anything new and innovative to this kind of midtower case, they somehow managed to screw up all of the points above.
Hi! Nice video! I've a question: can you confirm me that the top cover has a different white (whiter color) than the steel structure? I mean, it's like kinda two whites, one brighter than the other. Thanks in advance!
nice review seems a shame that Corsair have gone on the cost cutting exercise but left the price at the same place
Why don't case manufacturers support Extended-ATX motherboards?? Even the Lian Li Dynamic O11 leaves E-ATX mobos hanging off the side because it barely fits.
Thank you for this video friend. I actually bought the Corsair Carbide Spec-06 and I'm going to trade it for the Fractal Design Define 7 ATX case with Tempered Glass White. I almost made the mistake of trading it for the Corsair Carbide 678C. I also didn't like or have use for all that expose hard drive slots. Since you can't remove them without covering the empty wholes, is the reason why I'm not going to spend and extra $120 to upgrade.Thanks again mate, cheers from Calgary, Canada.
It looks to be corsairs version of the Fractal Design Define R6 TG, having just built my new PC a month ago I can say that the Fractal Design option will probably be the better one for most people, they are possibly manufactured in the same factory considering similarities

@@OC3D Yeah, it's most definitely produced on the same production line as the Fractal Design R6, it costs more, and it's got all sorts of quality issues with it, even the motherboard tray is straight out of the R6 with cutouts rotated 180 degrees........Just buy a R6, this case is a waste of time. Why nobody has made 5 HDD racks sideways in the bottom of the cases, 2 SSDs on the back of the motherboard, one 240mm rad clearance in the front, over the HDD cage, 1 fan under it, blowing to the cage (even if they are sideways, it's still something) and a 360mm rad clearance on top ? The case might be like 2cm taller but clean AF and no shit HDD removable trays, covers, holes, screws etc... They might save money with that.

What an annoying rip-fest. I think it's a pretty sweet case. Ticks a lot of boxes for me and others.
I think most of you guys review/handle more than a few cases too many. Glad I'm not a case designer.
My heart goes out to those guys.
Corsair could mess up a wet dream. All they had to do was put those hinged doors and a mesh front panel on the Carbine 275R and it would have been perfect.
Corsair are not like they used to be they just sent me a replacement MM800Ce and it's faulty too and now they're trying to make me jump through all the hoops again to claim warranty on their faulty replacement, do yourself a HUGE favour and just steer clear of Corsair!
Great silent case in general! I found most other current silent cases ugly AF. This one looks nice and I don't mind the minor drawbacks about the storage bays, etc.
whats the draw back? If you don't like them you can remove them.

No it doesn't failed it work perfectly fine as a oven to reheat food .

wow Corsair Stole the harddrive cage design from the "be quiet SILENT BASE 601" case, unless they share the same OEM die tooling it was a stolen design.....
imagine when we dont need wires and everything is like wireless or some other sci fi type crap

Seems like a very nice case with some missed opportunities (as he said)... which has become all too common place for Corsair cases. What a GREAT review though. He hit almost every point.

No top grommets - all holes in a case should have grommets in 2019.
No integrated velcro tie downs - Fractal and Phanteks do that, why wouldn't Corsair
Only two slot covers instead of 6, AND lack of a full psu shroud cover.

You should be using an external headphone DAC/AMP anyway.
