I was very busy in the last two months (internship and my bachelor thesis at the same time left not much during the day to edit with). But in between I watched this show and I totally love this two. In fact, I watched the show because I need the actual main actress for a fancast but then THIS storyline just got me. Side pairing or not, for me they were the real highlight. That passion and hate and obsession and the chemistry!!
"Carnival Row" is a show about a society where humans are the superior race and all mythological creatures you can imagine are there as servants. Imogen is born into a fomer rich family that is about to end up in poverty. In contrast, the puck Agrues managed his way out of his status and lives as only the nobility can. When he becomes the new neighbour, things escalate quickly between them :))) Or: Interspecies relationships - I STAN IT!
The setting with them in their beginning phase was also perfect to use this song and I wanted to use this song FOREVER! Sadly, they don't have many scenes and so I tricked a bit. I used Tamzin Merchant's scenes from "The Tudors" to bring in some movement and for aesthetic reasons. I see her dancing as representation of Imogens feelings when she is with Agreus - true freedom. :)

I love this actress in The Tudors and it's nice to see her here again, she's more beautiful than ever and their relationship looks so beautiful, so intense, so interesting, and their scenes... some of their scenes have an sensuality that I ADORE! And I love how you used the scenes of The Tudors in, we completely forget that it is not the same show so it's hypnotizing with the voiceovers and the song and the mood of the video! Awww! Wow! I... Soooo, I would not expect for me to like them that much! It's probably, because it's harder for me to like a ship, if I don't find the man hot, and tbh he has horns xD Plus, I'm not into black men at all, and I don't mean to be racist, it's just they don't move me or how should I say that? (Even tho, his body is hot). Anyway, your editing is magical as always! And I should've known better, because you can make me love every single pairing, you edit! Like for real! And the tension between them is so awesome, that I did not care about that he's not my type at all, I truly felt to ship them! And this song? I did not know it, but it is incredible, and you went so well with the beat! I really loved it! One of my fave moment is around 3:22, and how it was edited with that sound and movement and then the music fading away then being loud again, it was super intense!!! You're so awesome at editing! It was a real pleasure to watch! And I love the voiceovers, you chose, they are also really intense and I loved when they talked about that painting. (But I hope, the guy is not a demon, right? ^^/I mean the real one, Mr. Agreus, not the one on the picture xD). And I also really loved the editing where you showed her dancing and between the scenes changed and... you know, that whole thing was just damn good! And I loved the effect around 3:36! And what also truly shows your talent is, how the scenes are slower and faster in the right places! Aww, how much I missed your edits! They are truly moving! And you make me wanna watch this show, like a lot! (Because of of your edit and this couple, I mean, I saw other edits from the show, not a lot, but one or two about probably the main couple, and the edits were good, and they made me want to find the show a bit, but this couple and your edit makes me wanna do it a lot, like a LOT more!) I don't know, if I'll find the right time for it, because I'm too obsessed with writing atm and barely do anything else, so... xD But I'd really like to watch it! Plus, that girl seems like a character I would totally love! She seems sassy and cool and everything I usually love about a female character! Also, I totally loved the scene, where she saved (?) him, when someone was about to attack him.
My only concern about the video is the bit nuder scenes... You know... I... I feel a bit uncomfortable watching scenes, where asses and boobs (are her boobs visible in the rain scene? I'm not sure) or such are shown, even tho, it's still not a lot that can be shown, but still, for me, it is even kinda bad. I don't know, maybe I'm too prude... But I can't help it... But I still wanna watch it over and over!
Ps: I'm getting more and more obsessed with this video! xD I watched a couple of times already, but I want to watch it again and again, even tho, I'm not even certainly sure about if I can or not. But after all, those scenes are very short and there is not much shown... Don't mind me, I'm just trying to convince myself, that it is free for me to watch it. xD But I'm being absolutely honest if I'm saying it's one of the videos that I'm super obsessed with and wanna watch a million times, so I don't simply just like it or something like that. It's magic! And I can't get enough! Like for real! You're super talented! I love all your videos, but this one is just... just... can't find the right words, sorry. I also felt this way about your Alduin and female Dovakhiin video. Oh, I love Agreus! But, you know, I am more character-driven anyway and once he was introduced and his sassyness revealed I was "I would hit that." This, and the stranger the guy, the more I am interested. I don't care about race or skin color as long as the character is interesting written. But, yes, his body IS a plus point. 🤣😎
They are super together! MUCH better than the main ship to be honest. The main ship is not that bad but it personally just does not interest me because the characters are so plain. They are just there but not with much character beside being there for the story? I swear every other character is so much better. ESPECIALLY this two!!! And YESSS to everything you said about her character! She is so greatly written and snarky but you know from the start that she would care if only society allowed her to be more open towards the creatures and, in the end, she does realize that all. And her relationship with Agreus is so interesting! 🙂 And I love the talk about the painting as well. It was some kind of metaphor that not everything that looked good is actually good and that vice versa - as I see it since this difference in the races plays the main role in the show. Agreus himself is some kind of a faun/puck/satyr (you know, Tumnus, if to compare his appearance to something ☺).
The show actually has a lot of nudity, so I wouldn't recommend it fully. Although, the love scene between those two is super sweet but I still only used was seemed ok here for an edit but there was more in the actual scene. 😅 Personally, I don't mind nudity because I see it as part of life and I also would work with it in art or writing. But I understand if opinions are different about it and one should only look with what feels comfortable. 🤗 But I should mention that the rain scene is from "The Tudors" as well. I haven't even paid much attention to what is visible under the drenched dress to be honest. Haha, maybe I should have. 🤣
