He was SO nervous presenting this particular show, but you absolutely would not know it hearing his voice. He's got confidence, clarity and persona, the nerves is all off-air. That's a real professional in his job right there!
Damn, he is quite evidently very, very nervous about the show he has to put on here, but as a Radio presenter he absolutely aces it. Interesting listening, and a really great insight into the world of national radio to demonstrate that it genuinely will have you on tenterhooks to be out on air.
Yeah, I know. :) I work in radio. I'm just saying it shouldn't be something that's commented on when this is primarily (and at its' core) an aural medium. Let him do his job; it's hard enough without people having a go at him for tics. He does it beautifully.
FranckByNature The music industry has changed the way charting works completely and all number ones will from now on be announced on Fridays rather than Sunday's. (On a side note this also meant that last week's number 1 - Lost Frequencies - now holds the record for the shortest ever number 1 as it didn't even last a whole week!)

The nervous tic with your headphones is adorable, but distracting.
FranckByNature Such a shame that he has a visual tic when he's in radio! Where's he going to hide it? ;)
They video things on the radio now - hence why there's a whole UA-cam channel for BBC Radio 1 now.

Is there a rule that means all new things on radio 1 have to start with 'the exciting new sound'?
It was the words that launched the station, so yeah.
2015 top 40 is missed

why was he so nervous?
Victoria Daisy He's always like that
as he said its a big deal and he wanted to do a good job of it. The concentration when doing his links is great to watch.
BC this was a first time for him hosting the chart and he wanted to do it well cuz it's an important thing and everybody knew it's a big deal
