This is the best succinct video for gesture and contour drawing that I've seen as an art teacher. I've seen too many gesture drawing instructional videos with way too much outline happening, and also using gesture drawing only within the context of figure drawing. I have my (high school) students gesture draw objects way more than figures, and show them how you can use this process to give life to inanimate objects like in animated films. Thank you so much for this.
Nice lesson! I laughed so hard when "Talent" was mentioned. When you're having a midlife crisis and making a conscious choice to learn art you really have to trust its a process that doesn't require some magical born with talent. I need to find more videos from this excellent Instructor: Lynda Monick-Isenberg.

great insight from a beautiful and passionate woman ...
this instructor needs to write a book. She's fantastic.
Simple and profound....exploring the "object" in different ways but maintaining the connection in both cases. Very helpful insights.
just learned her name-- Lynda Monick-Isenberg. Should create her own channel. I think she has much to offer
Yes, it was very well explained for a beginner like myself

As I watched you do the contour drawing it appears you were not looking at the ppr but at the squash. DId you just do a blind contour drawing?
Hidden gems.
