I have these as well as the over ear QC Ultra. They are the best I’ve owned except for THREE design and functional issues. No Multipoint is the biggest but I purchased them knowing that. No Wireless Charging, again I knew that before my purchase. The third is that they are a royal pain to get out of the case. I also have the USB-C AirPods Pro and the Bose QC Utra buds sound superior IMHO. I don’t think they are too bass heavy. Maybe you’re getting to that “Get Off My Lawn” age😂😂. Just kidding I’m 63

I have been using Bose headphones and earbuds for years now. As for the earbuds I have had the Bose Soundsport, and Quiet Comfort earbuds. I have been very loyal to Bose but the Samsung Buds2pro and Sony Xm4 made me realize how terrible the call quality is for Bose earbuds. Because of that I didn't get the Quiet Comforts 2. However, a few weeks ago I decided to buy the Ultra earbuds and these are my takeaways after 2 weeks of heavy usage.
    1. As usual with Bose Earbuds, the noise cancelation and music sound quality is amazing. You will not hear the outside world at all and the music sounds very rich. I don't think the bass is heavy for the most part, but the one problem that Bose can't seem to get right is that when the volume is set to the maximum level, the sound does get a bit muddy and the music kind of has this piercing affect to the ear drums which is very uncomfortable. So I listen normally 1 level below the max.
    2. It's very comfortable and won't come off of your ears. I used it in the gym and ran a few miles with it. Even with the sweat, buds are secure.
    3. Call quality sucks, like really bad. The person on the other end of the phone can hear everything in your background. Nothing goes unnoticed to them in your background. My friend complains of how noisy my background is but she never did when I was using my Samsung earbuds. Also, the volume is very low in comparison to other earbuds. It's a struggle to hear the person on the other end.
    4. The connectivity is absolutely terrible! I've never used earbuds that was this bad with staying connected to my phone. Not even the previous iterations were this bad. They often go in and out and sometimes I'll permanently lose connection. I often have to take the buds out, put it back in the case just to get it to reconnect. It's even worse when I'm in the city (midtown and downtown nyc). Even with the most recent firmware update from a few days ago didn't really address the issue. There was even a time where I put the earbuds back in the case and oddly enough the earbuds stayed connected even though the case was closed. It was annoying because I was trying to switch to my Bose 700s for a call.
Overall, like the reviewer mentioned, for the first time ever I wouldn't recommend a Bose earbud product. For the $300 price tag it just feels like an unfinished product. However, I love the music quality, fit, and noise cancelation so much that I will keep them. Purchased mine from Best Buy with the 2 year warranty at full price. So I'm going to return my current pair for a new pair as they are now on sale for $250 with the black friday deal. And maybe the next pair won't have some of the issues I mentioned above. Sorry for the long review. Lol

If you update the firmware on the Bose QC Ultra earbuds, it will solve your connectivity issues. It takes a LONG time to update the firmware, but it does fix the connectivity problems. When I first got the QC Ultra earbuds, I had problems getting them to connect to my HP Envy laptop. The buds then notified me of a firmware update, which I installed and voila, no more connectivity problems.
If you consider the superb fit, audio quality and control system on the QC Ultra earbuds, nothing even comes close to them. Oh and BTW the call quality has been improved over the QC II earbuds. But then, the call quality on all earbuds really isn't going to rock your world, including the Sony XM4s you mention.

    • @YaNice117
      @YaNice117 11 місяців тому +2

@franklong6269 I updated the firmware a day after I purchased my first pair and it didn't really fix the connectivity issue. I even returned and got a second pair and again, I updated the firmware immediately and it still didn't fix the connectivity issue. Keep in mind I live in New York City and use it for my daily commute to midtown and downtown Manhattan. When I'm in crowded areas such as Grand Central, Times Square, etc, my buds are constantly going in and out. When I'm I'm in less crowded areas it's actually pretty decent. In short, the update barely did anything to fix the issue.
Secondly, there are a lot of earbuds that have good call quality. My Samsung Buds Pro 2 call quality is 10x better than my QC Ultras. I noticed it on my end from day 1, and also everyone I speak to on the other end complain about how loud my background noise is. My girlfriend today complained that she felt like she was inside my mouth while I was eating. Her and others never complained when I was using my Bud Pro 2s. As a matter of fact I often use them for calls instead of QC Ultras. Trust me I'm a Bose fanboy but I call it how I see it, in this case how I hear it.

I just bought these earbuds, and I have compared them to my 5.1 Harmon Kardon surround sound speaker system and my Bose 700 over-ear phones. You simply could not be more wrong in claiming that the Bose QC II Ultra Earbuds are "too bassy!" That is an absurd claim! These earbuds capture the full range of the bass arguably better than my over-ear Bose 700s and competitively with my surround sound speakers (which have exquisite sound and range). I invite you to listen to Manheimer Steamroller's stunning orchestral song, "Christmas Lullaby." The song's vast audio range has the most delicate isolated high-end tenor instruments, and then abruptly adds massive bass to accentuate the apex of the song. The QC II Ultra earbuds handle this song with accuracy and dexterity and beauty only surpassed by high-end multi-speaker systems. Manheimer's Christmas lullaby PURPOSELY unleashes an incredible bass range at the song's peak bridge that takes a well-tuned subwoofer to reproduce in speaker systems - as I said, it is massive. The QC II Ultra earbuds do a stunning job of accurately reproducing this low-end bass accent instrumental in the song. It doesn't match the actual range of a tuned subwoofer, but it does an AMAZING job, considering that these are tiny earbud speakers.
You are just flat-out wrong, and you should apologize profusely to everyone in your audience for your gross incompetence in reviewing these earbuds! They realistically compete with the over-ear Bose 700s, which have some of the best, most accurate audio reproduction of any over-ear headphones, sans $10,000 specialist audiophile headphones! That is a stunning accomplishment!

Being more open minded Chris would be of benefit. There are a few buds out there that excel and provide lots of headroom in quality and sound adjustment. This Bose QC Ultra, Sennheiser Momentum 3 and the Technics AZ80 are all on par for fantastic sound but ALL need to be tuned to what one's listening to. For example the Sennheiser is fatter out of the box and in conjunction with the Wavelet app benefit the most. The Technics also present big initially and the Bose out of the box under undelivered. Interestingly the Bose built in app EQ, with it's simpler 3 bands settings offer more than Wavelet can accomplish and the built in Bose EQ makes a HUGE difference in standard rock/pop music.

When I tried the headphones at Best Buy, the were super comfortable, the ANC was definitely better than the Sony XM5s that I tried right next to them, but I wasnt able to compare either against the ANC of these earbuds. So i bought these, but Im thinking of buying the headphones and then sending one of them back. I love the portability of the earbuds, but I love the longer battery life of the headphones and their comfort...not that the earbuds are uncomfortable....they feel somewhat comfortable. People can't hear me when I speak, but I can hear them. I don't know why - I'm not muted or anything. The earbuds also don't connect easily to other devices or they lose their connection a lot. I have the Sony XM5s too and the difference in connectivity is night and day from the Bose. Man, I wish Bose would fix the connectivity issues. They'd be the perfect earbuds for me if they could do that. Sony's comfort and ANC is nowhere near as good to me, but they're more reliable, so I carry both sets and change them out depending on my situation. I'll hold off on buying the Ultras or whatever comes next until Bose fixes the connection issues.

My Sony WF1000MX5 just had leaft ear getting too quiet. Brought it back for warranty return. Have them since October 2023 and already got into a problem. I had MX3 and MX4 before - both had battery degradation within a year to only about 30-50 minutes of work on ANC. So no Sony for me anymore. I love the ANC and the sound quality of Sony but they are just a disaster in the durability department. I have Bose 700 for 4 years and they are just a pleasure to use. Battery still holds great. Sound and ANC are both great. I will give these Bose Ultra a chance.

They are fitting much better than the Sony XM5, which disturb my ear after a short time (subjective) and don't block speech noise very good unless you push them in very hard. The Bose QC I, II or Ultra are much better in this regard. These earwings are great. But I returned my ULTRA, because of the loud self noise. It was even noticeable, while playing music. Much more noise, than the QC II and QC I(I used both in comparison). Unfortunately the ULTRA also produced two sharp clicks in the left earbud during connection, which really hurt. Did you notice or could you measure this self noise or was my pair just bad luck? Does it depend on the initial ear canal sweep measurement and the calibration of the ANC?

I have the Bose Quiet Comfort Ultra Earbuds 2022 and was thinking about upgrading. My biggest issue with my current Bose earbuds is that the call quality just flat out sucks. Also, the max volume is pretty limited when using only one earbud while driving. I like to listen to SiriusXM sports talk radio. And most of the time It's just plain hard to hear everything. I only use one earbud while driving just to keep one ear open. When I receive a call, I often have to switch to my blue parrott headset as the bose has horrible call quality. People often can't understand me when I have on my bose earbuds. In all honesty, my Blue Parrott headset is the very best in call quality and not bad when listening to music. But they are pretty uncomfortable to wear for more than 30 minutes. Also, the McDonald's drive-thru headset look is not very appealing. I wish I could combine the Bose earbuds and the Blue Parrott B650xt. That would be the perfect combo for me.

I have the QC 1 earbuds and I’m looking to upgrade. I have iPhone. I was debating the AirPod pro 2 vs QC ultra, I love the bass and noise cancelation from Bose but I actually hate the earwing thing on the QC 1, it doesn’t sit in my ear properly anymore mainly the left one and it hurts to wear after a while. Also my battery dies in 2-3 hrs of being on phone call which is garbage as I’ve only had them for 1 year this winter. I’ve watched many reviews on both AirPods and Bose, I’m leaning more towards Bose but let me know what anyone thinks off personal use from either

I recently purchased the Airpod Pro 2 and also have the QC Ultra earbud coming in a week or so. I previously owned the QC1 and was able to trade it in through the Bose website for the QC Ultra. To me, the QC1 was too bulky for my liking and the battery life is pretty standard compared to most wireless earbuds with ANC. The case of the QC1 was also bulky as hell but the silver lining is that it did offer wireless charging which the QC ultra doesn't.
To me, the Airpod Pro 2 is a great everyday headphone that is sleek/less bulky, it fits my ear really well (not always the case with other earbuds), case has wireless charging, pretty to really good noice cancellation, very nice sound quality and a really good microphone. It has become my go to work headphones on the computer but it's best if you don't use the noice cancellation to stretch the battery life. My plans for the QC Ultra is to only use it when I want to listening to music or watch something on my phone and also times when I need a really good ANC (i.e. on an airplane). Not saying that the Airpod Pro 2 can't do or offer the same quality of what I'm planning to use the QC Ultra for but I always have bias towards Bose headphones/earbuds.

It depends on the individual themselves. I've noticed younger people can handle base better and they tend to like base more. Older people tend to dislike base more. I've noticed other people in the comments completely disagreeing saying they are so into base and it's just the right amount of base in the earbuds. It just depends on the person themselves. I know a friend who really recommends these. I think when we're shopping we tend to be more particular and/or selective when buying things because we don't want to buy something expensive and be let down.

Yeah Great video but you must have overlooked the fact that you can completely custom tune these in the EQ settings. If you touch the sliders that are above the presets and move it up and down on the EQ you can turn the base completely off by going down to -10 or all the way up to +10… You don’t have to use any of the preset values. Base mid and high are all adjustable from -10 to +10..
