      One of his nephews posted him playing blackjack county chain a couple years back, he said in the description it was recorded but never released so the potential is there.

    In my opinion, doing this tune in minor (as Doc did) is the way to do it. Who else did it in minor?

      Many years ago there was a bluegrass band in Norfolk, Virginia who performed this song in minor. I was stationed in Norfolk when I was an enlisted man in the Navy.

      There is a local musician who plays the lap or mountain dulcimer who likes to play this song in all major keys.

    I heard Darby and Tarleton sing it in Columbus on a summer concert in the 1960s. Their original recording of it was in the 1920s.
