    I agree, this is the best track by far, in my opinion. So emotive. My wife plays piano so I'm gonna throw down and challenge her to try this out!

    It's been around 2-3 years since I last listened to this (been listening to it for years before that), but I have to say this is absolutely one of my favorite renditions of all time; absolutely gorgeous. Your arrangements have inspired me so much in life and kept me company during many dark times, so thank you

    Holy mother of... (insert religious idol here)!!! This got me tearing up a little!! And it isn't even lacking anything!!!
    The beginning, the bridge between stage one and two, the finish! It sounds so amazing, no seriously! This is the best cover I have heard so far , and it isn't lacking behind the original in any way!!!

    Definitely doable piece, and thank you DrJekyll MrHeil for creating this amazing arrangement. Gonna invest a lot, and I think it will defintely be worth the time! (Note, the rest is just tips on how to reach some of the chords and such).
    Just going to say to all the people complaining about the impossible stretches: it's possible. I'm 12 and learning this piece, and am only 5-5. Alot of the time, holding the left hand chord is redundant (I still appreciate this arrangment though!). For example, measues 9 calls for a 10th, but I simply do the top third with my right hand, and the pedal holds it throughout. Same with measure 13.
    Another 10th (measure 17 and 19) in the left hand has a fourth in the bottom and a large stretch to the top. Just simply play the fourth on the bottom, and on the next quarter note, play the top. It sounds great to me, maybe even better than the original. The hard part is the from measure 21 onwards, with the rotaring right hand holding the octave. It really takes a stretch, and I'm constantly practicing 30 mins of just that part. However, you can omit some of the top notes, and you'll be fine.
    Also, you cna arpeggiate a lot of other big stretches, not uncommon at all.

    I had to stop playing piano a year back, thanks to school life suddenly getting harder and harder. By the time it finally calmed a bit, i had lost all motivation to continue playing, seeing as how rusty i was. But when i found these videos, i got so excited for playing once again. Absolutely beautiful arrangements. They got me back into the spirit of why I started playing- simply because i love it.

    I love your arrangements! Unrelated to Bloodborne though, I don't know if you have played Dragon Age Inquisition before but I have been surprised to notice that absolutely no one has tried to make an arrangement for that new song that came out in the final Trespasser dlc the dread wolf theme or "My Path" it is absolutely amazing. I thought no one could do an arrangement better than you. Of course this is only if you are actually a fan of Dragon Age Inquisition after all....

      +Souls Fanatic If you gain money with it, it can be considered commercial.
      (Although From seems to be pretty lax with this, since some people on youtube get money through ads on their Souls-videos and I've never heard of any problems there...)
      EDIT: I'm not very knowledgable about this legal stuff, so don't rely on my evaluation too much.

      There are always 2 links, one to the MIDI-file, and one to the PDF-file. The PDF is what you want for sheet music.

    What is the name of that type of tremolo in bar 55 to 61? I don't know how to create it on my Sibelius!

    • @drjekyllmrheil1001
      @drjekyllmrheil1001  7 років тому +1

      You can't do it in Sibelius 'natively'.
      To generate the MIDI I wrote out every note in the tremolo, and for the sheet music I wrote it as a regular tremolo and put a text box with the '6' under it.
      I don't know if it is 'proper notation practice', but I think most people (and everyone good enough to play this) gets the point.

    Dang I play piano as well but how the hell do you coordinate between so many notes, did you like grow up playing nothing but Liszt and rachmoninoff or what? That's impressive!!!

    • @drjekyllmrheil1001
      @drjekyllmrheil1001  9 років тому

      +TheGoldenBullet100 I've listened to a lot of Liszt and Rachmaninov for a long time and still do, so the influences are there^^.
      (Rach also taught me how to stop worrying and learn to love huge intervals)
      And as I don't play most of these myself (I edit the MIDI files in a way I would play it if I had no technical limitations), that's all I need for now...
      maybe someday I'll be able to play all of my arrangements and then I can start going for the more serious Rachmaninov and Liszt pieces too^^

    • @TheGoldenBullet100
      @TheGoldenBullet100 9 років тому

      +DrJekyll MrHeil Yeah man go for it!!! Rachmoninoff is one of my favorite composers, and his prelude in C sharp minor is easily one of my favorite songs of his, but yeah man your stuff is great, my friend and I are actually learning your "one who craves souls" song arrangement together for piano and for cello, though we had to make adjustments so the violin piece is in bass clef. But yeah you've done great so far, especially with this one, so keep it up man :D

    I'm trying to recreate this by ear in the GarageBand app because I can't play piano very well. How do you get the faster notes? Perhaps the software simply isn't adequate enough to suit something like those. It either ends up playing too fast, or too slow. However, I suppose I could do as you suggested and put my own twist on it, even if it ends up sounded too watered down.
    But any advice would be helpful, like if it's better to have it play fast or slower.

    • @drjekyllmrheil1001
      @drjekyllmrheil1001  8 років тому

      +Hero0fTimee It probably has problems importing the right hand as sextuplets. There is probably some option in a menu that let's you decide what kind of triplets to allow. And if there isn't, you shouldn't be using that program. ^^

    • @Hero0fTimee
      @Hero0fTimee 8 років тому

      +DrJekyll MrHeil alright. I'll try to look deeper into the menus. :P Yeah, I got the program for free, and it's on my iPad so it probably doesn't have those. Anyways, thanks!

    Could you please re-add the dynamics into the sheet music?

    • @drjekyllmrheil1001
      @drjekyllmrheil1001  8 років тому

      no.
      (read the description)

    • @bignukernick7419
      @bignukernick7419 8 років тому

      +DrJekyll MrHeil Wouldn't it be easier to add the dynamics, and let it up to the people to change them? It's easy to ignore dynamics.

    • @drjekyllmrheil1001
      @drjekyllmrheil1001  8 років тому

      It takes conscious effort to ignore dynamic signs, which most people won't do.
      If there are no signs they will decide for themselves how to play it, instead of just going with the signs initially, and then not changing out of lazyness.
      If someone wants to play it like the video they can listen to the video and write in the signs while listening,
      which will be more accurate for them than my interpretation of what the right sign would be.
      Also, because it takes time and isn't fun for me.

      +alexandre desrosiers (Aldesian37) if you mean the one in the 5th measure:
      You're right, I really can't hear it here. This is most likely a 'performance error'(/MIDI editing error) by me, because the e is intended there. (Of course, if you like it better without the e play it without it...I'm not the boss of you ^^)
