Those are so incredibly beautiful! I actually love the raised dots & scrolls for dimension! I made a stained glass windchime a few years ago for a friend of mine who had lost her husband to cancer. I wanted every element to be glass including the decorative beads. I purchased some handmade lampwork beads and it made all the difference in the world in how the chime came together! All the decorative "interest" those beads brought to the piece. I would love to learn how to make them someday.
Great video on using the puffy mandrel. I enjoyed it a lot. Now I know what I'm doing wrong ... You're so nice to post these videos for us. Thank you SOOO much!
Wow! I have never made hollow beads with a mandrel like that. I didn't know they made mandrel like that. I had to do it the hard way. lol I love hollow beads and making them. I have even made little fat bottles using the hollow bead technique. Lampwork is so much fun!
Jeannie, how is it that this video has almost 4500 views, and only 51 likes and 4 comments! I've heard it mentioned and loved on fb etc.. Thank you, for sharing your experience and glass love, it is very much appreciated! Aloha Sweet Lady for all of your effort! 😁
Thank you for the video and the mention of myself. (I changed my name, because I married) I try and try and fail :-/ The glass sticks to the mandril and is only a little bit hollow. I guess, the disks are not high enough?
Do you have bead release on your mandrel? The glass shouldn't stick if you have bead release on them. I don't think it's the height of your disks, but either the amount of glass you have and/or how hot your glass was to blow them out enough.

:) Me too! It is a lot of fun, my passion!
I use a Waterpik to get the bead release out of hollow beads. Soak them first. Works like a charm.

I dont understand when you say “ blow or puff”. You are actually blowing into the bead? How is that possible?
