I think that's more than a coincidence. Green Hill is a small town so the odds of that theory not being true are less likely.

What I think is gonna happen for the Sonic 3 movie!!! ;D In the trailer we see Sonic, knuckles and tails racing with sonic jumping in the air and winning. then he falls into his old cave and tom jumps in there (which is where he sees the longclaw paining and gives the speech in the first part of the movie). then we do a meanwhile to where shadow is either A: breaking free without the memories of maria flashing throughout his body or B; he just breaks free naturally (or C: he manages to manifest the chaos emeralds for being the ultimate lifeform.) once he gets free he teleports to the NYC and Walters makes a call to team Sonic and brings them to the playplace. Just then, Shadow (or eggman, as what is being attacked is either chaos spears or nukes) are blasted and destroys the playplace. then sonic gets into a G.U.N helicopter while tails drives. then crash down in NYC (or london) and do the fight with shadow before he teleports away. now realizing he's too powerful, sonic and his team go retrieve Eggman for his help. they find Agent Stone on the way and he agrees to lead him to robotnik and ask for his help, sonic gives eggman one of his quills and he eithers builds more advanced robots or metal sonic. they track shadow down to the ARK or an abandoned gun base and eggman goes into a room where he sees Gerald who have a happy reuinion. (this is either before Gerald got executed or a hologram from the past). Gerald desperately tries to convince Eggman to go back on his side. Meanwhile, Sonic, tails and knuckles all travel to the UK (cause if it was night in NYC, it would be around morning in the UK.) and refight Shadow, who now has his motorcycle and Chases down Sonic with it. (A little note: Shadow might actually have the master emerald or maybe even the phantom ruby because Shadow is able to teleport, which is impossible without a chaos emerald.) I havent solved the rest though.. Another theory that Gerald could actually be the villian in disguise, he could be altering shadows memories and trying to make him the villian, like in SA2 for the vengeance of Maria aswell. Also: Jim carrey ha stated that he WILL be with Sega for the movies as the role of eggman, as he said theres a lot of plot and character and he loves the role he gets

We could get the script flipped on us where Shadow lives and Sonic dies. This was done once in the new Star Trek movies. In the original, Spock died. In the new movies, Kirk died.
Okay my theory: I would love to see this movie take the ending of Adventure 2/Heroes route. It's obvious we're going to be seeing Shadow more after this, and if they continue the line of basing the movies off of the games, we could possibly see Sonic and Shadow go super, and I'm not sure if we'll get Biolizard, but Shadow will end of sacrificing himself like he did in Adventure 2, and somehow, Eggman could also be the hero by saving Shadow from his fall, sealing him away before losing his own life. Now, the post credit scene could introduce Rouge, entering a old lab, and who does she accidentally find? Shadow, but now, he's lost all his memories. This could push for the fourth movie to be based of off Heroes (which is also where Metal Sonic was introduced, so it could work), then they could even continue on to a adaptation of Sonic 06, and even a spin off movie with Shadow, based on his own game back in 2005.
Everyone keeps saying that metal sonic will carry on eggman's legacy but have ya'll forgotten about sage, she could carry on eggman's legacy for revenge thinking that sonic killed her father, besides having metal sonic as the final boss for this film would be epic, especially if eggman decides to actually team up with sonic to defeat him.

Yep I do believe that Walters is the movie universe version of that character. I think in some way we will see he was involved in Shadow's/Maria's past and that's why Shadow and Gerald will be gunning for him!

If Shadow killed someone who was basically a father figure and also a close family member then why would I love him more than Sonic even if hes a good character? I love Shadow hes looks cool and all but Sonic and Knuckles didn't took things too personal to the point of destroying the whole world. loosing a friend hurts really REALLY bad but Sonic who already lost a mother is now loosing a father too that he grew up with and that is enough, Knuckles's lost all his family members, his whole tribe and his siblings, since he now knows they were wiped out meaning they were ALL dead and Knuckles ended up depressed knowing he will never see them again and became the last of his kind, he felted rage but he couldn't let that stop him from granting his family's legacy and is understandable. So like I said loosing a friend hurts a lot but never to the point on destroying the world not knowing where to go in space full of nothing, that is just being straight up evil knowing there's babies that haven't live a life yet. I don't blame Shadow but his actions is what seem to be insane, everyone dies it's natural and that is where Shadow dosen't understand completely. Which means Shadow is the one who is wrong for now.
Tom won't die, he will get seriously hurt by shadow or at most a coma, I think him getting hurt is enough to make sonic angry to partner up with eggman but just straight DEATH is impossible

I hope Tom dies and this is a turning point where sonic and co decide they need to live somewhere away from humans to keep them out of danger, preferably on another planet if possible. I hope this would also write out the rest of the human cast and hopefully paramount understands that that aspect of the franchise doesn’t work mostly (aside from GUN, Agent Stone, Eggman, the commander and characters that are related to the story purely based on these factors and nothing else). The Knuckes show should have been a lesson to Paramount to ditch the baggage (the humans) and start embracing this series for what it is based on its source material. Don’t let this franchise turn out like Transformers, where they are always tied down with humans. If they ever want to pay homage to the already established humans in this series they can do it when it makes sense in something like a Sonic Unleashed adaptation but that should be years down the line, after multiple movies of just characters from Sonics lore and source material only
Seeing as the trailer shows the scene of Maria's death you might be surprised. Not to mention plenty of PG movies have shown death, its just not graphic.
how is he gonna create metal sonic if he is supposedly gonna die besides it wouldn't even make sense, eggman is the primary antagonist and has always been the contrast to sonic forever it wouldn't really be lore savvy if they just killed him off.
Its possible that he creates him well before he dies and maybe the quill slowly powers him up, at the end we could see metal come online. Also Sonic has plenty of other villains, and Jim Carrey isn't going to do this forever.

Okay my theory:
I would love to see this movie take the ending of Adventure 2/Heroes route. It's obvious we're going to be seeing Shadow more after this, and if they continue the line of basing the movies off of the games, we could possibly see Sonic and Shadow go super, and I'm not sure if we'll get Biolizard, but Shadow will end of sacrificing himself like he did in Adventure 2, and somehow, Eggman could also be the hero by saving Shadow from his fall, sealing him away before losing his own life. Now, the post credit scene could introduce Rouge, entering a old lab, and who does she accidentally find? Shadow, but now, he's lost all his memories. This could push for the fourth movie to be based of off Heroes (which is also where Metal Sonic was introduced, so it could work), then they could even continue on to a adaptation of Sonic 06, and even a spin off movie with Shadow, based on his own game back in 2005.

Everyone keeps saying that metal sonic will carry on eggman's legacy but have ya'll forgotten about sage, she could carry on eggman's legacy for revenge thinking that sonic killed her father, besides having metal sonic as the final boss for this film would be epic, especially if eggman decides to actually team up with sonic to defeat him.
I think Metal Sonic would make of a better leader of the eggman army than Sage , plus Sage's birth will be very unlikely and way too soon , she was literally created all the way back to Frontiers unless they change her story

Tom will most likley die. Because when shadow was violating the g.u.n. army. tom works for gun. And tom was screaming sonics name. And it looked like shadow was in the same place as tom. And it looked like shadow was trying to kill tom. Because shadow hates the g.u.n. army. And in one seen, sonic, tails and knuckles look sad. And theirs police cars around the area. So then sonic gets mad because of this so he has to work with eggman. And when sonic says "what did you do" I think he means what shadow did to tom. Another theory. So when sonic gets very mad he turns dark. So sonic could get so mad, that he turns dark. So shadow might turn super and try to stop dark sonic if he loses his control in his dark form. Last theory. So metal sonic needs sonics power to be able to power up. And sonic gives eggman one of his quills. So when eggman meets his father AKA gearald robotnik. So eggmans father might make him get off sonics team and eggmans dad and eggman might work together to make metal sonic.

I realized so everyone is making theories about how maybe commander Walter's is the one who killed Maria cause it seems like shadow went after him in the trailer and its obvious that he knows more about shadow then anyone else then I realized something commander Walter's isn't in the games (as far as Im aware) but you know who is commander Abraham tower's who I looked up and yes looks just like commander Walter's and has the same job and everything so I realized is Walter's the movies version of tower's which if true then will he also have some of tower's backstory which as you may know Abraham grew up on the ark and was freinds with Maria for years so if they are the same person then he met shadow on the ark as a kid and that's why he knows immediately that's its project shadow that got uncovered during the end credits scene in sonic 2 and knew shadow's story in the trailer and that's why shadow goes after him seemingly in the trailer because he's like the only person still alive from the ark Era

Yep I do believe that Walters is the movie universe version of that character. I think in some way we will see he was involved in Shadow's/Maria's past and that's why Shadow and Gerald will be gunning for him!

If Shadow killed someone who was basically a father figure and also a close family member then why would I love him more than Sonic even if hes a good character? I love Shadow hes looks cool and all but Sonic and Knuckles didn't took things too personal to the point of destroying the whole world. loosing a friend hurts really REALLY bad but Sonic who already lost a mother is now loosing a father too that he grew up with and that is enough, Knuckles's lost all his family members, his whole tribe and his siblings, since he now knows they were wiped out meaning they were ALL dead and Knuckles ended up depressed knowing he will never see them again and became the last of his kind, he felted rage but he couldn't let that stop him from granting his family's legacy and is understandable.
So like I said loosing a friend hurts a lot but never to the point on destroying the world not knowing where to go in space full of nothing, that is just being straight up evil knowing there's babies that haven't live a life yet. I don't blame Shadow but his actions is what seem to be insane, everyone dies it's natural and that is where Shadow dosen't understand completely. Which means Shadow is the one who is wrong for now.

Tom won't die, he will get seriously hurt by shadow or at most a coma, I think him getting hurt is enough to make sonic angry to partner up with eggman but just straight DEATH is impossible

I hope Tom dies and this is a turning point where sonic and co decide they need to live somewhere away from humans to keep them out of danger, preferably on another planet if possible. I hope this would also write out the rest of the human cast and hopefully paramount understands that that aspect of the franchise doesn’t work mostly (aside from GUN, Agent Stone, Eggman, the commander and characters that are related to the story purely based on these factors and nothing else). The Knuckes show should have been a lesson to Paramount to ditch the baggage (the humans) and start embracing this series for what it is based on its source material. Don’t let this franchise turn out like Transformers, where they are always tied down with humans. If they ever want to pay homage to the already established humans in this series they can do it when it makes sense in something like a Sonic Unleashed adaptation but that should be years down the line, after multiple movies of just characters from Sonics lore and source material only

how is he gonna create metal sonic if he is supposedly gonna die
besides it wouldn't even make sense, eggman is the primary antagonist and has always been the contrast to sonic forever it wouldn't really be lore savvy if they just killed him off.
Its possible that he creates him well before he dies and maybe the quill slowly powers him up, at the end we could see metal come online. Also Sonic has plenty of other villains, and Jim Carrey isn't going to do this forever.
