Configure Alarms and Notification for VMware vSphere (vSOM)

guys, is there any way a container can trigger an alarm if a certain daemon is not working ? We are using VMware machines that have a hasp daemon inside that from time to time fails. Can we have an alarm triggered by that?

I made the same configuration and tested that by triggering power off virtually machine , unfortunately not working, any help?
