Dream did say he and tommy could be immortal together. This AU seems to fit in with that statement. If Dream can possess someone from that long ago and have there body not die or decay in that time, technically Tommy and Dream are and will be immortal. (Unless maybe someone kills Tommy, then Dream would most likely possess that person. It seems like when Dream possess someone they can't die from old age.)
