When I come to think of all the hours I have spent on selecting in all kinds of peculiar ways, and all the tutorials I have seen from You and others on the subject of selecting - it is amazing how easy it has become - and so fast. I love it.
Great tips, thanks. I would be interested in the recent changes of generate fill you mentioned, eg that you should add comments like remove person. In the past, I also extended the selection of an object I wanted to remove to also cover some of the background of the object, here you did not do it anymore!?
Oh nice! Looks like a great time saver. Would be great to see an in depth session on this feature. Guess generative fill also can be used in conjunction with this
Hi Colin thanks for another great video. This is a very welcome addition to Photoshop. In the larger group of people I noticed however that there are 8 people but PS only found 7, is there a way to `refresh` this so that it finds all the poeople, or is that something we may have to wait for until this finds its way into the main PS? Cheers Colin.
Always appreciate Colin’s expertise and practical approaches ..have gradually moved away from others to him….as a wildlife photographer I am hoping that adobe will use this innovative people approach with similar wildlife tool
in the official version almost the same functions in camera raw. Hope the next update will make it aviable in the offical version, so i can use it much faster than now with camer raw.
Very interesting! You could do a tutorial using this technique to switch people between different pictures of the same group of persons (to have the best of each picture)
Thanks for your presentation. Excellent. My biggest request for editing is the possibility to apply adjustments to any number of people in any number of photos. Can adjustments be saved to use later like a preset or Action so when the Preset or Action sees other photos will it apply all the adjustments automatically? Thanks!
Its nice to see adobe adding these select features now, definitely something people have been asking for years now, but now I feel like we're almost past it. We're on to expecting to select the subject and generating "change hair color to blue" or "whiten teeth". I feel like we'll have that in a year and this will feel a bit out of date already.
My most requested features are: 1. Text editing improvements (eg realtime smooth sizing) / 2. All tools working in 32bit / 3. Saving files improvement (currently very sloooow) / 4. Realtime filters
If it recognizes/selects reliably, that feature should be a timesaver! 👍 I'm assuming if it's used to select clothing, then generative fill could be used to substitute fabric or style vs just change color...
Would love a tutorial on adding someone to a photo. I’m always the photographer and am never in group photos. Or a waiter takes a photo and someone is not looking in one and another person isn’t smiling in another.
I just used this to perform skin retouching on 9 individuals at once. Game changer! I wasted 200$ on Aperty pre ordering months ago. I knew Adobe was going to come with changes. SMH
Not a fan of adding beta software to my computer, I will wait until it makes it into the production software I am using. It does look better though. I am surprised there is no send to AI to better select the hair, I thought I saw an earlier video by another PS master who showed the difference from it selecting based in your computer and based on sending it out to AI.
LOVE THIS, BUT WAY TOO MANY FEATURES STUCK IN BETA. I DON'T KNOW WHY THEY DONT HAVE A TOGGLE LIKE IN NEURAL FILTERS TO TRY OR NOT TRY A BETA FEATURE DIRECTLY IN PHOTOSHOP..
Most requested new Photoshop feature? By whom? Come on! This hyperbolic statement by Smith without stating its basis degrades his credibility and tarnishes his integrity in my eyes.
Please don't be a headline skimmer, judge me on my content, not on trying to be noticed in the highly competitive algorithm on youtube. Aside from that, have a look at my tuts on ACR and LR masking and see how many people commented about wishing it was in PS, that ain't hype.
@@photoshopcafe The title IS part of your video's content. Not having stated in your video the basis of your claim that the feature you describe is the most requested was an sloppy omission in my view. I stand by my opinion above, now accepting your explanation that some reponses to some of your other tutorials mentioned this as a wished for feature. Presuming my motive for crtitisizing you tarnishes your credibility in my eyes.
It seems that Photoshop is determined to add more and more tools, most of them repeated in various places. What they should do is dedicate themselves to making the ones that already exist work properly.
When I come to think of all the hours I have spent on selecting in all kinds of peculiar ways, and all the tutorials I have seen from You and others on the subject of selecting - it is amazing how easy it has become - and so fast. I love it.
Its getting quicker for sure

I really like your tutorials on generative fill/remove. Very powerful. Very useful.
Thanks so much for all your great tutorials. You are amazing.
great video as always!
Thanks Colin, as always, another great video.
thanks
very interesting and useful. Thanks!
The same functionality has been made available on Camera Raw a while ago, and I find it very useful, powerful and user friendly.
yes, its nice to finally get it in Photoshop
Excellent as always - Thank you Colin
Very useful tutorial. Thank you.

Ill see what I can do
Thanks Colin, it is cool to begin the day here with your tutoring-clarity on this new cool feature. You are such a fine teacher.
Thanks so much
Wow thank you I do struggle with my thumbnails ..
Thanks for the info. I would like to see more about this.
Ill see what I can do

thank you, great tutorial, I wonder, does this select people, then face, make it easier to change heads ?
Yes please to a more advanced tutorial and on now entering remove people (at last!). Brilliant quick introduction though! Thank you!!
noted!
Very good Colin
Wonderful video
quicker than going via camera raw that was doing almost the same selecting persons. Thanks for the video !!
You're welcome!
Always appreciate Colin’s expertise and practical approaches ..have gradually moved away from others to him….as a wildlife photographer I am hoping that adobe will use this innovative people approach with similar wildlife tool
That would be cool!
Interesting...I like the way Adobe is going with this.
Me too!
Thank You
Excellent 😃 Thank you for sharing ❤
My pleasure 😊
Thanks!
I would love to see this technology come into Premiere pro for color correction.
That would be amazing

You can make adjustment presets yes

Good point!
I’d love to go deeper into changing the colour of the clothes, it NEVER looks good when I attempt it. Thanks

I've done tuts on that already ua-cam.com/video/BE4SKH4l10s/v-deo.htmlsi=YjVpeOZPpSg5NOSh

@@photoshopcafe Yes, I meant cloud. Thank you.
5:15 - don't you need to expand the selection a bit? (as we usually did)
Usually you are right, It seems gen fill is actually doing that on its own now. I would expand if it doesn't work
Capture One already got it😂
So does lightroom and ACR
LMAO look at how those teeth came out 🤣🤣🤣
🤣

Well, to be fair, its not "stuck" it just appeared. I like your idea of a toggle though
Great PS add.
Thanks for the tutorial
You bet
Photoshop and Lightroom continue to adopt one another's features. Just figure out how to merge them already.

are you using the Beta version

What? The voice wasnt AI, you can literally see the guy in the video talking.
