Jess is immature (I mean, she's in highschool) and really insecure and hides it behind a Mean Girl facade, but she also has a dorky and quite sweet side too underneath. She really goes through it in Until Dawn too and comes out of it very different. Mike is a complete jerk at the start and makes a lot of mistakes, but has a hero's journey in the game. He's one of the most willing to risk his life and help his friends when it comes down to it. And Sam, who isn't a fan of him at the start, can respect him by the end of the game.

To this day I’m still not sure why Sam told them to go to the mines in the og . Honestly that mountain should be closed off for freaking ever and guarded with it being illegal to go up. Problem more or less solved
I think she just wanted them to find Josh, and also for their rescuers to believe them (which they clearly didn't). But, also, I don't think she or any of the other characters were thinking straight in the interviews. I mean, they're still covered in blood and dirt, suggesting they were immediately interrogated instead of taken to a hospital.
in the final scene where Sam is escaping the house to blow it up, it really feels like Hannah's just saving her best friend from that one Wendigo trying to reach her out, kinda cool.
It's really too bad they couldn't approach Rami Malek and co for a film adaptation when they were the same age as when they did this game. Would've been perfect casting lol.

i don’t understand why josh spent so much time fucking with chris when chris was passed out with him when the prank happened i thought josh’s motive was to make the people involved in prank pay
TLDR WARNING! I’m gonna complain about something that I don’t see others having enough of an issue with. It’s a fun game. Absolutely a great time. But we have to talk about the “lore” issues. The biggest problem …. There is no way, absolutely never, in any really, would they have the character listed as “Hannah’s best friend”, EVER stand by and allow that kind of “prank” to happen. That is RIDICULOUS. Sam simply saying “don’t you guys think this is a little cruel”, and THATS IT? It wasn’t a prank! It was assault. Filming someone, a minor no less, and yes even if the one filming is a minor, falls under revenge p***. Setting someone up in a sexual situation under false pretenses is assault. To not bb only knowingly let it happen, and then not chase after her once it did …. not only flies in the face of the kind of person we are meant to believe Sam is, but then to make her main description as “Hanna’s best friend” is insulting. Which begs the question … why have Sam in the situation at ALL? Josh and Chris were passed out drunk which means that where they were and what they were doing during the “prank” has no bearing on the overall plot or butterfly effect. So WTF? What was the point of having Sam in the room? Next issue ~ another unbelievable plot point is that Hannah willingly ran to Mike to “make out”, which somehow meant she immediately starts to unbutton her shirt, while not only in a house full of her friends, but also her brother and sister and Mike’s GF? You could MAYBE say she was drunk. But even then … it makes no sense. So at this point, the only thing you can do is create a backstory, that maybe he’s been leading her on or toying with her and they already have somewhat of a history. But still …. it makes no sense. Plus it is very much implied this is a first and Jess is doing this to simply back up her friend Jess, because Hannah has a “crush”. The entire prank portion of the game was embarrassing and the writing was awful. Again …. fun game. But this is always bothered me as it is 😬 AF.
@ I completely agree. But that wasn’t my point. I’m saying that Sam didn’t need to be there when it happened. And her letting it happen makes no sense.
How can Chris watch his best friend die and be so calm telling Ashley not to look. He could really handle and step up during bad moments. I would’ve been crying and throwing up holy shit
Dude this shows what they can do. I really hope they put in this kind of work for the dark anthology stories. The remake shows they can improve on what they made, and I hope they can go like this from the ground up for the next season of the Dark Anthology. The Graphics, mechanics, and the gameplay shown here is what the Dark Anthology needs, I play co-op with my brother as well for all of them and they def improved on the co-ops mechanics as well for the devil in me. It's not "perfect" but they were getting there. Hope the next season or whatever for the game comes out with this kind of energy.

From what I have seen so far.. There are a few added scenes. I haven't been following the development of this game, but does make me wonder if they got some of the cast back for a few new scenes.
I read The Quarry was supposed to have been Until Dawn 2 when it was in development and then something happened and the rights to Until Dawn got pulled from Supermassive Games so they ended up rewriting the story.
I feel like they made the don’t move sections in the remake waaaaaay easier than the original, felt like you had to actually “not move” in the original, compared to a bar that runs out when you move too much in the remake.
There’s so many little contextual details added that are amazing in this. Your choices in it made me sad bc it damned Josh and Josh is honestly so funny. :/

Taking “Oh Death” out of the opening is a huge L. Also why did they take out the Previously on Until Dawn highlights away in between chapters? Made it feel like you were watching an actually show on Netflix or something. Removing the blue tint the otiginal had seems like a mistake too. Not very impressed so far, not gonna lie.
Omg, did anyone notice the Makkapitew looking at Beth at 16:15 before it knocks the shelf? The eyes on the right side in the dark. It seems to disappear when Beth looks up right before the flamethrower comes. That's an incredible addition.

Many changes I don't like Not sure what to think about the 3rd person camera angle compared to old. The new soundtrack is dogshit. Also some of the sound effects are inferior. They should do what Resident evil remakes have done and have the option to select the old soundtrack & sfx. Maybe the camera too. I'm sure the PC community will make these mods in no time
2:02:20 You can see the deer phase through the rock lmao. The remake looks good though, the new character models are great, the fog effects are nicer and most of the lighting is much better (but imo should be lighter in some scenes and darker in others). The new scenes are nice and they've improved some camera angles but did ruin others. But, I loved the original, even with all its issues, so I might pick this up.
Until Dawn is a good game and I can say enough to people that you must get Song of Horror. Don’t let the name fool you it’s amazing. Good graphics great story fixed camera angles, multiple characters to choose from what you do carries over into each chapter affecting the outcome of the ending. I highly recommend people play this hidden gem
So they remade this game just to let you have better 3rd person control and upgraded the graphics just barely ?? And charging $60 for it ??? What a joke!!! Pathetic by Sony
I must say; this recent game with better features, scenes and incredible complexity are underrated! Once again, thanks for sharing with us MKIceAndFire.
Original was perfect, those background musics gave us full of fear and thrill. This one is not scary at all! I don’t even feel i am watching a horror game😑
i remember in the original if you give matt the flare gun he shoots it in the air but then has a second shot when he crosses paths with the wendigo. he only can use it to save himself if he choose to disagree with Emily at the ski lift and go back to the lodge.
People keep saying the old soundtrack is iconic, and I just have no recollection of it at all. Been a few years since I played the game, maybe ya’ll just revisited it more often than I did. But the music and sound design feel fine to me in the remake.
I forget this is a video game sometime 34:00 he’s literally pointing a loaded shotgun at one of the characters. His finger is not on the trigger, but nonetheless don’t point a loaded weapon at somebody.
$60 and barely no changes and no upgrade path Music sucks especially when being chased And an extra ending that doesn’t mean anything Buggy Qte button prompts sounds are too low and boring and the don’t move button is no longer blue just white Lighting in areas look off it should be dark and blue for example early game.
There are various changes, lighting being one of them. You can like an artist look more than another but they did make the lighting more believable. Especially because they purposely darkened things in the original to hide some rough edges. Models are drastically better, much higher fidelity, better performance, and more scenes were added in. While I agree the no upgrade path is disappointing, I guess my question is would it have mattered to you?? For "barely no changes" I mean. Or if there was an upgrade path let's say $10 would you feel more positive towards it and acknowledge the upgrades more?
The extra ending is hinting at a sequel, so I'm all for it! I love Sam! And there's also actually a different ending for Josh too. You can properly save him. So if there's a sequel, he could appear in it too. :)
@@TheTardisDreamer He would have appeared anyways as he canonically beats the wendigo. The game in it's entirety is what Josh sees before that moment, more accurately, hallucinates, due to his mental issues

Aw.. why did they have to remove the song during Mike and Jessica's snowball fight? That song MADE the scene in the OG! :(
Because copyright license is delicate and stupid 😞
IK IVE ALWAYS LOVED THAT SONG MAN.
I feel like this remake just hates Jess in general. 😅 I thought they'd be more sympathetic towards her since many fans wanted more from her and Matt.
@@Angel_Auraa To be honest, that's what she deserves. Jess and Mike are literally terrible people and I don't know why people like them. I think It's all because they're attractive.
@@Lale_Canfeda They're very flawed people (like most of characters) but the game does a good job of making them sympathetic.
And Sam, who isn't a fan of him at the start, can respect him by the end of the game.
the addition of the scene with the maniac casually looking at security cameras made is blatantly clear who it was
After see the remake, I think Jessica is more hated than Emily, because she was the main responsible of the prank on Hannah
I mean... Jessica is a really shitty person, but Emily still feels more manipulative and self centred.
jess was a mean girl fr
I mean Jess was the one being all like "I'm just looking out for my girl Em." Then later after Mike and Emily broke up, she jumped to the opportunity. Like saying Hannah deserves the prank is rich coming from her. What an "opportunist".
jessica is literally just dumb, like a karen smith way- emily is more of a regina george
It was always jess who did the prank even in the original people just did not pay enough attention to understand that or missed it in the remake they made it so you can't miss it i am actually glad they made it like this

Am I the only one thinking that the facial expressions are creepier than the actual supernatural shit going on? Like why does this facial animation looks so terrible. I don’t remember the facial expressions looking this bad in the original. Maybe it’s just me
I also think the same lol
nope, defs noticed the same thing, everyone looks more uncanny now for some reason
the one before was also bad but not as bad as this Lol
totally uncanny valley, and except for hanna and beth, the female characters were downgraded lmao

That's why I never done those. I knew some bs would happen 😂😂
3:43:02 I'm both happy and sad that the developers added this to Hannah's diary, you can feel how happy she was thinking she had a chance with Mike 😢
But isn't she also the one essentially killing her if you fail the don't moves?
This game is a masterpiece. Can’t wait for the film adaptation.
It's really too bad they couldn't approach Rami Malek and co for a film adaptation when they were the same age as when they did this game. Would've been perfect casting lol.
i love how sam tried to tell her 💯
The lack of music around the 11 min mark is insane I'm buggin out
am i the only one, but im kind of disappointed hannah didnt have any new voice lines? why is there most of the time awkward silence where she could talk
Can't blame Josh, you lose your sisters and you're alone all because of some stupid prank played by your friends. But still Hannah was a bit wrong.
i don’t understand why josh spent so much time fucking with chris when chris was passed out with him when the prank happened i thought josh’s motive was to make the people involved in prank pay
03:37:30 Chris saying "let's just keep our heads" gotta be some kind of ironic joke :D
Dang they removed the iconic "where is my sister going🤖"
If the prank never happened, the game never would've happened either
@ I completely agree. But that wasn’t my point. I’m saying that Sam didn’t need to be there when it happened. And her letting it happen makes no sense.
How can Chris watch his best friend die and be so calm telling Ashley not to look. He could really handle and step up during bad moments. I would’ve been crying and throwing up holy shit
one new detail is that the prank scene is far more dramatic
Dude this shows what they can do. I really hope they put in this kind of work for the dark anthology stories. The remake shows they can improve on what they made, and I hope they can go like this from the ground up for the next season of the Dark Anthology. The Graphics, mechanics, and the gameplay shown here is what the Dark Anthology needs, I play co-op with my brother as well for all of them and they def improved on the co-ops mechanics as well for the devil in me. It's not "perfect" but they were getting there. Hope the next season or whatever for the game comes out with this kind of energy.
Actually this remake it's not done by Supermassive (developers of the original), but by Ballistic Moon
Honestly buddy if thish is how there doing there remakes I don't want man of medan to be remastered in less the charters move better facial animations don't look weird sticks to the original story well adding new things not making the lighting effects feel off some scenes are to dark and keep the orginal soundtrack to the game final fantasy 7 remake can do thish why cant movie games do thish life is strange suffers from thish as well og is better windigo sounds better as well and the sound effects but yea i havent seen a movie remake do it right yet all thish versions got is better graphics every thing else is a no for me

I really love the story of this game since its original, I cant believe that they make a remake of this, I hope to see more dark pictures stories in the coming years
I agree. This story is amazing from the way it feels like a slasher horror film and then shifts to the supernatural and really uses the butterfly effect so heavily. It’s just so fun because it’s basically an interactive movie and I love watching tons of gameplays to see all the different outcomes
Thank you for doing this on PlayStation. The “don’t move” sequence is a cool feature in an interactive horror game.

I could never imagine myself playing a heavily story driven game like this, but I really like it.
I feel like they made the don’t move sections in the remake waaaaaay easier than the original, felt like you had to actually “not move” in the original, compared to a bar that runs out when you move too much in the remake.
There’s so many little contextual details added that are amazing in this.

Game isn't even 10 years old and is still pretty fucking decent graphically....unsure why they chose to remaster this.
Omg, did anyone notice the Makkapitew looking at Beth at 16:15 before it knocks the shelf? The eyes on the right side in the dark. It seems to disappear when Beth looks up right before the flamethrower comes. That's an incredible addition.

Not sure what to think about the 3rd person camera angle compared to old.
The new soundtrack is dogshit. Also some of the sound effects are inferior.
They should do what Resident evil remakes have done and have the option to select the old soundtrack & sfx. Maybe the camera too.
I'm sure the PC community will make these mods in no time
Agreed! Its not scary at all without those soundtracks!
From what I heard, they didn't have the rights anymore to some of their soundtracks. Though they could make something similar or sound it similarly.
@@lckyminer_2256They couldn’t get the old guy who did the music back, so they hired someone else completely inferior

At 3:50:00 there is no photo of Jessica on the board. If Josh had no idea that wendigo would kidnap her, why wasn't he keen on messing with her too?

Lighting in areas look off it should be dark and blue for example early game.
@@alexisestrada9188 There’s really not enough here to really justify it being full priced though? For a game that isn’t even that old to begin with.

@@TheTardisDreamer He would have appeared anyways as he canonically beats the wendigo. The entire spin-off VR game is a sequel that takes place in his mind and is him fighting off the possession and healing from it. THAT is the more interesting route for his character too. @@ondiiina the vr game is called Until Dawn: Rush of Blood, and at the end, it shows the scene of him from the og Until Dawn as a wendigo, not "beating the curse and healing", just from his perspective of looking up to the people trying to rescue him and then him charging at them like when he "lives" in the og.
