    I think LMU could be very focused like ACC, while AMS2 is more of a jack of all trades, so I think there should be room for both.

    Studio 397 didn't 'fully' develop rFactor 2; it was Image Space Incorporated who developed it... Studio 397 took over from them on 16 september 2016

    Not sure why you keep using “it’s 4 years old” as a negative.
    It’s updated more than most
    iRacing is 15 years old and RF2 10 years old - so what?! If a game is updated and the developers keep improving the product it doesn’t sit in the same category as games like forza or GT which are regular releases

    I think they will have two different audience targets. Ams2 has beautiful historic content but no ranked multiplayer system whereas RF2 has an excellent one.

      @@hdvrNG we will talk again when it's there. It's been on the road map for a long time already. The main question mark with ams2 and multiplayer is the nature of their peer to peer system. No servers can be setup to host a race, therefore the system always relies on somebody's personal computer. Which is why LFM looked into ams2 and gave up after a day.

  • @oktc68

    I'd wager most sim racing is done on sims older than Ams2 which is a relative new comer.

    60 dollars would be absolutely OK. If you don't have it, please make a video about iracing's pricing policy every month. THAT is a ridiculous pricing model.
    But buying it and refunding it? Are you serious?

  • @Slakass55

    How did you manage to reach 328 km/h on that first long straight? Max I get up to is around 315. What am I missing? Of course I was free driving the Porsche in stock set up. Did you change your settings at all or was due to a better exit speed from the previous turn? Please share your tricks!
    As for what I think LMU should be listed for: take this into consideration, Motorsport Games: last week I paid Can$13.50 for Automobilista 2, on sale at Steam. As a huge F1 fan since childhood, the historic content alone has me smiling from ear to ear. Love that it has karts and dedicated karting tracks. It has autocross tracks and cars. Big rig racing and everything from a 1.6L trainer to this incredible Le Mans DLC and incredibly well crafted cars. Oh did I mention how incredibly well VR works on it? That's how you can appreciate the amount of detail inside the cars as you can literally stick your head everywhere and appreciate what Reiza has done to bring these incredible machines for us to enjoy. All of this for the equivalent of US$10.
    So at the very least they'd be smart to have the game on sale at a competitive price right off the bat. Else I'd just wait for it to go on sale at the discount bin, even if takes a while. I feel for them but love competition, so let the strongest win.

      It's easy to reach 338km/h with electric motor set to qualify mode, default is balanced, you can do an outlap with "off mode" to have 100% charge and switch to "qualify" for first flying lap, also rear wing to 2 or less and a bit closed radiators, i'm sure it's possible to reach 340+ under slipstream like in real life at le mans 2023 few cars was hitting 340+ and Ferrari 347.8 km/h.

    • @Slakass55
      @Slakass55 11 місяців тому +1

      @@Андрей-е2х2д Oh right, the electric motor. Had totally skipped my mind that this is a hybrid beast. Had just gotten the game and was overwhelmed by all the content. Was also trying to rush to take advantage of the free Le Mans offering for those few days. Do plan to get the DLC, I miss racing on that track. It's so neat to sit back and see if you can squeeze that extra km/h at the end of the straight. With the tips you cited here that'll sure make for some fun trials.
      PS: if you select the short track and continue on driving onto the long/normal track, you can drive around the area surrounding the track via side roads, visiting some of the businesses, parks etc. It's so neat. Just be prepared to fall off the map or hit an invisible wall.

      @@Slakass55 I also gotten the game when Reiza released LM content, really enjoying it, can't wait for Acura to have a complete 2023 IMSA GTP class. Oh and i didn't saw "time trial" for days in the menu lol, so you don't need to do an outlap. I was using Cadillac mostly, and a bit later tried BMW and Porsche and they don't seem to be that fast on mulsanne straight with just few adjustments in setup like Caddy.

  • @SomeDude365
    @SomeDude365 11 місяців тому +5

    The name "Le Mans Ultimate" is more just for name recognition and prestige. The game follows the WEC championship, so you're getting much more than just "the 24 hours of le mans" as you keep saying in the video. You're getting all the cars and tracks in the WEC series, similar to how ACC narrowed its focus to just GT3/GT4 cars in the SRO series. I much prefer this type of game as the developers can really focus their efforts on making the best possible game to represent this style of racing rather than a game with every car under the sun in it.......

    • @Slakass55
      @Slakass55 11 місяців тому

      Great to hear that you get more than just a single track (although even that ONE track would totally put a smile on my face), this is the first time I hear of this, as everyone else seems to think it's a single track sim. But you make it sound like it's a bad thing to have every car under the sun. Why? Don't you enjoy classic races from decades past? Different forms of the sport, from trainers to rocket on wheels? Seem a bit shortsighted to knock AMS2 for it's amazing amount of content, none of which I can see a reason to fault. ACC is to me a dull sim as it gets boring after a while, due to lack of variation. 2 classes... seems lazy to me.

    • @SomeDude365
      @SomeDude365 11 місяців тому

      @@Slakass55 I never knocked AMS2 or even mentioned it? - its a good game. I'm just saying, given the option, I would prefer a well executed narrow focus game if the other option was a game with more content but less quality of execution.....that's all. From the time they announced Le Mans Ultimate to the proposed February release date is not a lot of time.....like 6-8months....I don't think there is enough time for any other content. There's plenty of other Sims out there that do that already. I personally do not really care much for classic car races to be honest.....the pace is a bit too slow. ACC has its faults, but it does execute well on what it was intended. That's the point.

    AMS2 isn't going to trouble LMU release in any way. If you are following LMU development you would know it already will have any more endurance features than AMS2. Will it have a lot of Content no but it probably be more detailed content for sure.
    Based on what you say in the video leads me to believe you don't follow the LMU development since you don't know what gameplay about. Please check the LMU website a lot of info is there
    IMO AMS2 hype is just around content nothing more.

    • @hansolo631
      @hansolo631 Рік тому +5

      There will certainly be more endurance content, but how much time can you spend on le mans with one type of car?
      And like it or not, until we know how good the VR support is, it might be a non-starter for alot of people anyways.
      AMS2 drives great, looks incredible, and has a massive variety of cars. It has to be reasoned with at this point

      @@hansolo631 LMU doesn't have one type of car lol 3 class with full WEC line up. It will have VR similar as in rf2. VR races are not the majority in sim racing but will support I don't see it not doing that. LMU will be able to give endurance fans actual features while still can't do proper replay system or mid race save or multiplayer with driver swap.

  • @rogerdiz3520
    @rogerdiz3520 Рік тому

    I doubt ams2 will get the toyota because from what I've heard, they were able to get the lmdh cars (probably through imsa), but not the lmh cars.
    Also, they would need to upgrade the multi-player experience (which is on Reiza's roadmap) to truly bother LMU. While i personally enjoy and appreciate all the work Reiza has done to it's physics, I'm not sure the somewhat more forgiving driving experience is ever going to appeal to the sim racing elitests. That said, it would certainly be more appealing to the new and moderately experienced sim racers, and to those who value more fun and accessibility over more accuracy. I'd say they'd be more worried about iracing for that subset, and even if they choose to sell it for $70, LMU would still be a bargain comparatively. Anyway, my point is that there seems to be room for LMU, if they can get it right and it includes all the WEC tracks... Motorsport Games well documented financial problems could also sink it.

      What everyone dumping on AMS2 forgets or flat out doesn't know is that they had just 24 staff at launch and a revenue of $400,000.
      They still all work from home and are based around the globe too.
      All this means they all have multiple tasks, there's no dedicated teams for each depart, so they may get pulled from an upcoming update to resolve a bug discovered during beta testing, delaying the next content release.
      They've also not had the funds demanded by some top tier manufacturers and have therefore had to choose which to pursue.
      Now, with sales increasing, they finally have the funds to add those missing manufacturers to the roster.
      Personally I'd prefer updates being delayed to ensure they're working as intended than specific deadlines leading to broken games or content updates, just look at Forza. This is the major reason AMS2 is right on the heels of ACC & AC for player ratings, 91.79%, 91.93% & 92.55% respectively, plus AMS2 rating is still rising.
      rF2 rating? 79.71% and both it and AMS2 have almost the same number of player reviews.. Just saying...

    If LMU provides decent sim physics (meaning better than AMS2), VR and a polished state (AMS2 is still very rough around the edges) then I don't see any problems. The bar is pretty damn low imo if you compare it with AMS2.

  • @NuScorpii
    @NuScorpii Рік тому +1

    AMS2 is fun for single player but multiplayer has a long way to go. The AI is broken for multiclass racing and gets stuck behind lower classes so not great for long single player races either. LMU will hopefully hit the ground running for multiplayer and use the rf2 system brought out recently.

    The Porsche 963 is "iconic" after only 2 years of competition? I don't think so LoL. Maybe popular but never iconic. That's pure internet hype. The Porsche 911, 956, 962, Audi R8 LMP, Jaguar XJ9 These are iconic cars. The issue Le Mans Ultimate has isn't so much AMS2 as Reiza won't be able to get all of the cars into the game. It's games like Assetto Corsa, and RFactor 2 that have all the current WEC and IMSA content already modded into the game for free. There are even complete up to date mods for AMS1 and GTR2 if you want to go Hardcore. There is no reason to buy LMU unless you're one of these people who value graphics over gameplay and think newer is always better. There are so many free Le mans Prototype mods for other sims that LMU has virtually no chance of being a financial success.
